Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, adding content without citing a reliable source, as you did to Simon Grayson, is not consistent with our policy of verifiability. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources, please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Dudesleeper / Talk 15:17, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Simon Grayson has been reverted, as it introduced negative or controversial biographical material without providing a reliable source for this information. Wikipedia requires that all such material be sourced to address the issue of libel. Thank you. Sceptre (talk) 17:41, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Mike grella

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mike grella requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the article does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the article or have a copy emailed to you. Proposed deletion of Josh falkingham

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Josh falkingham, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

No first-team appearances, so fails WP:ATHLETE.

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. —Snigbrook 14:10, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

Proposed deletion of Luke Garbutt

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Luke Garbutt, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Could you explain your reverts at Leeds United A.F.C.? The columns are uneven after your edit as the number of players on each column is unequal. Cheers, Mattythewhite (talk) 23:01, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I see, it must be a browser issue; on Firefox 3 the loan info fits into one row and so the columns match up evenly. Mattythewhite (talk) 23:33, 26 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Ryan Jones (footballer born 1992) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Hello Tholynski! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. Please note that all biographies of living persons must be sourced. If you were to add reliable, secondary sources to this article, it would greatly help us with the current 13 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

References

[edit]

Hello, and well done with all your efforts at keeping Leeds United-related pages up to date. But I don't think anyone can have mentioned that information in Wikipedia articles, particularly articles which are about living people (see WP:Biographies of living people), should be verifiable with reference to reliable published sources (see WP:Verifiability). What that means, is that we shouldn't add stuff about a footballer's injuries or contracts or performance in a game, without also adding a link to where we got the information from. Wikipedia isn't interested in what you or I think about a player, but it is interested in true facts and in assessments of the player as reported in reputable publications, like books, newspapers, or mainstream media like the BBC or Sky.

When someone adds a {{Citation needed}} to an article, like at Gary McSheffrey, it's because that fact needed verifying. We can't just write that someone said they fancied a permanent deal at a club without supplying a link to prove it, otherwise people could write all sorts of nonsense and the reader wouldn't know which bits were true and which bits were just stuff they'd made up. cheers, Struway2 (talk) 15:22, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry I took so long to reply, my internet connection keeps dropping out :-( With stuff from websites, the best easy way is just to put the URL and then a space and then the title, inside a pair of ref tags, like
<ref>http://www.leedsunited.com/news/20100206/hartlepool-live_2247585_1957103 Hartlepool Live</ref>
This will make the details appear in the References section towards the bottom of the article. Have a look at Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, or Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners without using templates, which will probably explain it more clearly than I can. As to radio interviews, I'd guess that if the interviewee said anything significant, the local paper would have picked it up, even if national media didn't. hope this helps, Struway2 (talk) 15:47, 6 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Patrick Kisnorbo article

[edit]

I am not happy by the fact that you are simply entering statements without even including any reference to support it. Typing "According to Radio Leeds" or "from the Leeds United official website" isn't enough. If you want to be lazy and not include a URL for every significant statement you enter then please don't edit at all. And the same goes for Max Gradel's article, which you have also edited without including any URL source. Patrick Kisnorbo has a good article status and I aim to keep it that way, with the exception of the Leeds United section which is out of my hands. But if you're going to keep entering unsourced statements, I'll have to simply remove them without warning. Wolcott (talk) 12:09, 17 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You can't just simply enter sentences thinking it will be accepted. As long as one of them doesn't include a citation, it will be disputed as false and removed immediately to avoid misleading readers. Since you "don't know how to include the reference links," I suggest you read this. I hope you will take the time to read it if you really want to contribute. Wolcott (talk) 20:05, 20 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 17:57, 18 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Deale Chamberlain has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

fails WP:NSPORTS and WP:GNG - does not play for Leeds in championship (reason for CSD decline) - plays for Leeds U-18 on loan from Liverpool reserves on loan. Recreate if/ when plays for competitive first team match in professional league

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Zanoni (talk) 19:51, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Alan Partridge Mid Morning Matters

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I notice that you recently created a new page, Alan Partridge Mid Morning Matters. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page - Alan_Partridge#Alan_Partridge.27s_Mid_Morning_Matters. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will to continue helping improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Alan_Partridge#Alan_Partridge.27s_Mid_Morning_Matters - you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think that the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Cindamuse (talk) 16:13, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, when updating player articles can you refrain from starting sentances with a date. If you read WP:MOS or MOS:DATE this should give you a clear indication of the WP policy. Also, dates should not be set out in such a way as "8th May", but just "8 May". Thanks, --Jimbo[online] 14:13, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Oh and also I'd suggest having a look over MOS:NUM as to how to write numbers, and when to write them as words. In general numbers 1 through 9, are spelt out. As would 1st, 2nd, 3rd...9th. --Jimbo[online] 14:15, 8 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Again, I would like to highlight the point of not starting sentences with a date such as. You could simply put the word "On" before the date, or include it later in the sentence to make it look less like a news-bite. Thanks, --Jimbo[online] 19:09, 10 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Once again, see MOS:DATE to get an understanding of how to set out dates in Wikipedia. Also see WP:MOS, which will help you structure a proper sentence. --Jimbo[online] 22:52, 14 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]
You seem to have forgotton about dates and full sentances. --Jimbo[online] 16:11, 2 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Again, dates should be set out as 30 October, not 30th October. Thanks, --Jimbo[online] 11:54, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I guess to keep consistency, and it is policy. --Jimbo[online] 10:50, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just to remind you, dates should be set out as "3 August", not "August 3rd" etc. Also, "wasn't" has an apostrophe in it. Thanks, 23:23, 3 August 2012 (UTC)

You are doing a good job on this page. But please remember to do sources properly. Here is a template I use. <ref name=>{{citenews | url = | title = | publisher = | date = | accessdate = 6 August 2011}}</ref> Adam4267 (talk) 21:57, 6 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This is a good point, see WP:CS for help with sourcing. Also, Twitter isn't generally considered a reliable source or verifiable. --Jimbo[online] 14:28, 7 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Would be helpful if you could start using this template instead of bare links. Also, another reminder dates should be set out as 9 August 2011, not 9th August or August 9 2011. Sponsored names of competitons (such as Carling Cup in stead of the League Cup) are not used, this is a long-standing WP:FOOTY consensus. Thanks, --Jimbo[online] 21:35, 9 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
All you have to do is fill in the blanks for the following ref template. <ref>{{citenews | url = | title = | publisher = | date = | accessdate = }}</ref> . --Jimbo[online] 21:46, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It'd be good if you didn't just ignore the issue. I've helped you, giving you a simple template to fill in when adding references. You should also have a look at WP:BURL for more info. --Jimbo[online] 13:58, 17 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
add <nowiki> for Adam4267. Matthew_hk tc 19:07, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

You need to understand what is noteworthy to include. Sitting on the bench or scoring a goal in a run-of-the-mill fixture isn't. I suggest you read up on policies such as WP:BLP and WP:NOT. --Jimbo[online] 15:08, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Having got a number of articles to GA standard, I have a good understanding of content that should be included or not. --Jimbo[online]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Nicola Salerno (Sporting Executive) requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. Tchaliburton (talk) 22:19, 23 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Žan Benedičič has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Article about a footballer who fails WP:GNG and who has not played in a fully pro league.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Sir Sputnik (talk) 20:07, 30 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Žan Benedičič for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Žan Benedičič is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Žan Benedičič until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Sir Sputnik (talk) 19:53, 1 August 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. GiantSnowman 22:28, 3 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

As you have been told before, this is an enclcylopedia, not a sports website. Please stop adding WP:ROUTINE, run-of-the-mill sporting 'achievements' to careers, they are irrelevant and non-notable. Significant events covered in depth by reliable third-party sources are what we need/want. GiantSnowman 07:37, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Not the most polite of contributors are you? Only trying to make the page and content better. This is down to personal opinion and as a result, won't show much about anything of his career at Leeds, when reality he is one of the clubs star performers. Thus not reflected by your criteria.

Who says he us a "star performer"? We rely on reliable sources to verify content, not fans. GiantSnowman 11:06, 24 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom Elections 2016: Voting now open!

[edit]

This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2016 election, please review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 22:08, 21 November 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hello from Portugal,

i am a veteran of ten years here, so i guarantee you my intentions are 100% correct, and in no way am i trying to mislead you, when i ask you why was i summarily reverted in everything i adjusted/added in this player's page. My additions/adjustments (and your subsequent reversions) were:

1 - no need to write "he is a former Spanish international" in intro, it is written in its later lines; 2 - player position, i added the correct wikilink for the attacking midfielder position you reverted it (and to write that followed immediately by playmaker creates overlinking); 3 - in the infobox, no need for the SC in the club that is loaning him to Leeds, some compression is better there, full names in storyline; 4 - still regarding that aspect, it's Valencia CF (for example) in storyline, Valencia in box; 5 - some sites are referred to as "newspapers" instead of "publishers", i tried to ammend that you reverted everything; 5 - categories: i removed some (for example), no need for the PEOPLE FROM ONDA category, with the PEOPLE FROM CASTELLÓN DE LA PLANA (where Mr. Hernández was born) one it's quite enough. If he is both an attacking midfielder (if you say he plays there for Leeds now i believe you) and a winger we must have both cats. Leeds plays in the Championship now, right? I add the pertinent ENGLISH FOOTBALL LEAGUE PLAYERS category and you revert everything? 6 - last but not least, with sub-sections it's quite a neat display, no need for the sub-sub-sections in the form of loans (for example, the Al-Nasr section consists of ONE line, needless and we can merge that with the parent club); 7 - forgot this, and no need to repeat the infobox in storyline (for example "despite playing 27 times and scoring 3 goals", or "He made 12 appearances, scoring 3 goals for the side" when it's right there in the box to see), and stuff like "stunning" or "thrilling" is completely forbidden by WP guidelines, i think User:GiantSnowman already warned you about the fan-like approach in the previous message.

Attentively, merry Christmas --85.242.133.151 (talk) 01:36, 25 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry for bothering you. --85.242.133.151 (talk) 17:39, 8 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Samuel Sáiz, pretty much a given he will sign (a Spaniard is now the coach, so he'll bring in all his buddies and say "up yours" to the homegrown talent!), but when he does: please, no need for the sub-sections of ONE line, one sub-section titled SPAIN and another called LEEDS are enough; also, please stop writing unreferenced international career sections that just REPEAT the infobox; AGAIN, you wrote stuff in Mr. Sáiz's article that belong in club's piece, not his. And this guy is not an attacking midfielder, OK?

Thanks --Quite A Character (talk) 13:11, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • I have reverted again, please let me work properly on article, i'll try to salvage as much as your info as possible. INT'L CAREER (unref'd again): why only De Gea and Thiago Alcantara deserve mention? Because they are superstars? --Quite A Character (talk) 14:35, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Another (and you reverted me when i cleaned the Sunday Express source): the DATE of the ref is the actual date of the newspaper/magazine article, the ACCESSDATE is the date when you retrieve the article from the web to Wikipedia, so it's not 1 JULY 2016 for both OK? If we continue in this edit war, we'll end up being BOTH blocked, not sure if you are aware of that. --Quite A Character (talk) 14:41, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes, Spanish version is so "reliable" it contains ONE ref! No, my work is not better than the vast majority of users here, never said that. Again, give me time to reach a compromise between your edits and mine --Quite A Character (talk) 14:55, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

There is no edit war on my side, just you are someone who prefers to read their articles in their own way and unfortunately you have your own ideas and opinions, I am one of the main editors to do with Leeds United, and due to yourself, I literally can't be bothered to waste my time on trying to improve articles anymore for the time being, as you will just change it or revert it to suit your own style or method. I hope that you continue to update the Leeds players profiles and create the young players profiles (once they make their debuts) like I have done with likes of Lewis Cook, Ronaldo Vieira, Bailey Peacock Farrell, Lewie Coyle and Malick Wilks etc etc. Please continue the good work, but don't scare off other good users and contributors to the site. I hope you find suitable compromise on the edits. Kind Regards -Tholynski ([[User talk:Tholynski]|talk]]) 14:57, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No worries from me, i will not edit anything related to Leeds except for Christiansen, Samu, Pablo Hernández (and any other Spanish footballers on the side with this manager, which i assume will be a lot). In an hour or two, please visit the article to see how you like it (but i repeat, no extra info needed, it's of ZERO relevance Samu appeared in the playoffs against Getafe if he did nothing extraordinary other than taking the field, OK?). --Quite A Character (talk) 15:06, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Finished overall cleanup, let's go step by step: 1 - intro, no need to say all those forms for which he is known, like that suffices (and plus, "Samu" is also in quotation marks right after his first name). Intros are supposed to summarize what a player did or has done, so far Mr. Sáiz has spent most of his career in the lower leagues, or has he not (as of end of 2016-17, ONE game in division 1, 69 games in division 2 and 153 in division three)? I am not trying to diminish him or anything, just stating. Still about intro, no need to say he was groomed at Real Madrid when his impact at their first team would be ZERO, with writing it in storyline it's more than enough; 2 - sub-sections, a great compromise there with you, but in some cases i grouped two clubs, then we can avoid the nonsensical one-liners; 3 - you wrote he was an unused sub for Atlético A against Villarreal, and he tried with Simeone, and you wrote he renewed with Huesca in March 2016, none of that was ref'd until now; i apologize for reverting you when you said he was initially on loan, the box has now been reinstated to convey such info - i also apologize for not seeing eye to eye about his player position, OK a midfielder, but not a second striker (in Spanish "mediapunta" is "attacking midfielder" and "second striker" is "segundo delantero", latter is not mentioned once in sources); 4 - irrelevant to say he played in the playoffs (unless he had scored, he did not!), but did add an important source about his 12 goals this season, as you can see i'm not here to write only negative things my fellow wiki-user;

5 - last but definitely not least: AGAIN, no need to write that about his international career (in intro or an international career section), only three games at the YOUTH level (when 99,9999999999% of the players are not allowed to have a WP article), for what? To mention he had famous teammates? Regards back --Quite A Character (talk) 17:41, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I think this will illustrate things better than all my words: you were reverted here (please see here https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Pablo_Hern%C3%A1ndez_(footballer,_born_1985)&diff=763878703&oldid=763868555), not by me but by a user/administrator. Somethings are just not meant to be written (we write about milestone goals, not goals that fans find particularly beautiful, etc etc). Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 20:59, 25 June 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • No fellow user, i merely try to: 1 - avoid word repetion in same paragraph; 2 - try to match titles of sources to the corresponding WP article. Of course, you are entitled to believe otherwise and insult me and say I SAY i am better than anyone else when i do not (an AGENDA? Where on earth have i been trying to work against you or anyone (except the darn vandals) here? And i never said you did not add sources to your additions, and in storylines we write "fourth goal" not "4th goal", i merely cleaned up your additions and nothing else, sorry you feel differently).

Sorry for any inconvenience, attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 01:52, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. Sure, i'll help out whenever needed! --Quite A Character (talk) 18:16, 31 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Haus (Band) for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Haus (Band) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Haus (Band) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion.

KDS4444 (talk) 13:38, 29 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Chris Wood (footballer, born 1991), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page PFA. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Victor Orta has been proposed for deletion. The proposed deletion notice added to the article should explain why.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. Help if you can, please: do you think you will be able to find some source (even from a Leeds almanac, something) mentioning this guy's spell at your club? I browsed the overall and the Portuguese web, found nothing...

Thanks in advance, happy weekend --Quite A Character (talk) 20:17, 1 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi. To be fair he was a rather uneventful spell. He was only unused substitute in a few games as we had Nigel Martyn, Mark Beeney and Paul Robinson at the time. A couple of articles about him being on the bench and a squad number source? Not sure if these would be any good for you?

PERFECT! I'll retrieve it to article tomorrow, thanks a lot. --Quite A Character (talk) 21:08, 2 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

  • Regarding Mr. Christiansen, i think not. I think it's common practise to only add such content if the subject wins it (i guess, if he was to be nominated five or six times during his career in England and never win the award that would merit a mention). Let's wait.

Happy weekend --Quite A Character (talk) 19:01, 8 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding an edit you made in 2014, could you add back citation for the content you added? That would help me to fact check. Matthew_hk tc 08:28, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Stuff

[edit]

Hello Tholynski,

don't know exactly what you mean in this message to User:Mattythewhite (please see here https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=User_talk:Mattythewhite&diff=841850304&oldid=841835854, stumbled upon it by chance because no one notified me of it), but if you by any chance are accusing me of telling on you nothing can be further from the truth. I used that removal of Matty (which i am not saying was RIGHT or WRONG, and for the record Matty has already been reverted in the Joe Hart article) to notify him of another user which i felt may turn a bit problematic in the future, because they added tons of clutter to articles in very poor display.

All in all, i did not portray you in any light (negative or positive), i merely used one edit or yours and a revert by Matty to illustrate something else. So, the question remains: are you accusing me of something or not? Please explain yourself so that i can apologize if need be.

Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 21:02, 19 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I apologise for the rollback at Almeyda, I should not have been so quick to revert! Your version has been reinstated, but I will have to clean it up later. --Quite A Character (talk) 10:58, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

  • Done with the cleanup (well, almost, will take me more ten minutes). You continue to add tons of info that belongs in (in this case) Guadalajara's article not (in this case) Almeyda's, and the accessdate (meaning when you retrieve stuff from the net to the WP article) continues to be completely different (you also continue to engage in overlinking). For example, one you added with the 2015 CLAUSURA TOURNAMENT schedule, added today on 11 June 2018, had the following accessdate: 5 NOVEMBER 2015 (and by the way, it is already D-E-A-D)! Not one single one of your sources had today's accessdate, and #19 and #22, which i took the trouble of cleaning up in display, you reverted again; also again, name of subject (or surname) needless repeated in SAME paragraph, and it's "ALMEYDA" not "ALMEDYA". References to scorers of goals (unless done sporadically or of utter relevance) belong in their articles, not this one OK?

Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 18:49, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

All in all, thanks for the overall improvement, i have finished my cleanup. --Quite A Character (talk) 19:44, 11 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Samu Saiz

[edit]

Hi there mate, all well?

Was just about to leave home, but for now i'll leave the following notes and tomorrow i'll have a look if need be, no problem! 1 - no, his first goal of 2018-19 is not notable (not for him only, for all players in the world), only milestones (first goal, championship/cup final goals, etc); 2 - his name? Someone changed it without explanation (i know, he's also known as "Samu" back in Spain), and so i thought a coherent cleanup was in need.

I think if you can find a ref of that, we can always write "sometimes known as Samu" in the introduction, that will suffice. Enjoy your editing/weekend as well --Quite A Character (talk) 22:29, 17 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

As I've already explained to you a few months ago, Transfermarkt is not a reliable source. Please do not cite the website in articles. Sir Sputnik (talk) 20:55, 12 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there,

transfer confirmed (as in the Premier League, unfortunately, Championship teams also prefer foreigners - even OLD ones - over homegrown talent, a pity! In my country, the same stuff), cleaned up article and added due stuff (i.e. categories).

About my reversion of you: 1 - apologies, those 17 appearances are indeed mentionable so I reinstated them (did not notice I had "erased" them originally). Reinstated them with a proper ref (news article, with words), not a SOCCERBASE (and not UEFA as you mention) stat sheet; 2 - a 32-year-old on THE BENCH of a match, even one of that importance is of zero relevance, so that one is of no need to the article.

Regarding your question (the scoreboard incident): of course it does not warrant inclusion, unencyclopedical as it comes!

Attentively --Quite A Character (talk) 11:12, 17 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • A tall and agile keeper (thus, apparently a good sign), but since i don't know what the former starter at Leeds was like or if the team have any injury issues in the position i'm not going to comment if the purchase was necessary or not (maybe it was, maybe it wasn't). Yesterday, in a Primeira Liga match, FC Porto utilised 14 players and ALL 14 were foreigners, pityful!

Infobox timestamps

[edit]

Hello, I'm Mattythewhite. Welcome to Wikipedia! I just wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions were not quite right. When updating statistics within the infobox of a footballer, please make sure you update the timestamp at the same time, so that both readers and fellow editors know when the information was last updated.

You can do this by replacing the existing timestamp within the |club-update= or |pcupdate= parameter for club stats, or the |nationalteam-update= or |ntupdate= parameter for international stats. For articles that use a DMY date format, use five tildes (~~~~~), or for MDY dates, use {{subst:mdytime}}. This will generate the specific time the update was made.

If you have any questions about this, feel free to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you, Mattythewhite (talk) 17:44, 1 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Ryan Kent, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page SPL (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 16:19, 11 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Marcelo Bielsa and the Leeds-v- Derby game, Sept, 2019

[edit]

Fair enough - the BBC ref balances the discussion better than I laid it out. (Fingers are still burned out after transcribing that interview though!) Thanks, Franburke2 (talk) 02:50, 28 September 2019 (UTC) P.S. I'll let you update the Bamford page too, which is essentially the same graf. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Franburke2 (talkcontribs) 02:55, 28 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thanks for your major addition to Teun Koopmeiners. Good work! Just a quick heads-up: Per WP:SLASH slashes shouldn't be used the way you did for the player's playing position in the infobox. I've fixed that. The other changes I included in my edit have to do with WP:NOTBROKEN. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 22:56, 25 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Career stats table at Daniele Cacia

[edit]

Hi. Could you please fix and standardise the career statisticss table you added at Daniele Cacia in 2014 ([1])? After all those years, there's still Italian in it. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 00:14, 15 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
