Orphaned non-free image File:16-corazon.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:16-corazon.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 12:38, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Arroyo esc.gif. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 13:07, 6 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a reliable source indicating she has died? If not we can't include that information. Prodego talk 05:53, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I read it first in a Spanish source (not this one, but is another anyway) and now it's even on Yahoo. Thief12 (talk) 06:03, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Several hours ago, many reliable sources were reporting she had died, and retracted their statements. Your first link is dead, and the second was last updated 10 hours ago, so I assume both of those sources are actually incorrect. Prodego talk 06:19, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay then. Since I saw several sources reporting it, I thought about making the edit. Thief12 (talk) 06:23, 9 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since I don't know what position you would take I don't think this is trolling. I think that the lede of Contemporary Christian music needs to be reviewed. In particular the list of artists should be updated. I have started a conversation at Talk:Contemporary Christian music#Change to the bands in the lede (February 2011). Please contribute if you find the time. --Walter Görlitz (talk) 03:09, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading File:Bionic-commando-gb.jpg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

The article Leo Fernández III has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

The article does not indicate why the subject is notable, and no evidence of notability could be found in a search. Unreferenced since 2007.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. --MelanieN (talk) 16:12, 11 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gustavo Laureano has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Visited through WP:URBLP and searched for reliable sources. However, I have found non (also no other sources that offer any content besides identifying Laureano as a member of the band). There is therefore no way to check or add material to this article other than what is covered at the band article itself. I checked WP:MUSICBIO and believe the best option would be to make this page a redirect to the band page: WP:La Secta AllStar.

Hey, no problem. This just a bs site, people posting articles there (like Gerald Wallace is better than Dirk Nowitzki here, just look at the comments from the writer down there) and those things. So there are no facts or anything important in it so a bad to site to reference. Even you and I can come up and post an article there, so don´t use it in the future. ;-) Kante4 (talk) 18:07, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Oleander (album) for deletion

[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Oleander (album) is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Oleander (album) until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on good quality evidence, and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Ten Pound Hammer, his otters and a clue-bat • (Otters want attention) 18:39, 1 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want BarlowGirl members back on lists of players

[edit]

I still don't think it was right to erase the individual members' articles; much more could have been added by fans like myself. Some of us are trying to make them relevant and famous, and this makes them seem like THEY DON'T EXIST. As a BG fan and bassist, how do you think I feel if I don't see Alyssa Barlow in the "List of Bass Guitarists"? Uninspired!!

Could we at least keep them in the lists (Bass, Guitar - Becca, Drums - Lauren) while still redirecting to the BG page? It's important to have them there. It raises our morals as fans to see the gals recognized.

This is not an attack. I can edit and maintain the pages if necessary, and become a Wiki registered user.

Please pass this on to Walter.

Thief12, thanks for reading, from your fellow Boricua, Ramon Matos barlowrocker@yahoo.com66.176.37.38 (talk) 00:24, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since you don't have an account, I don't know if you'll ever read this. But I'll try and answer your concerns:
  • First, there's a policy in Wikipedia (WP:MUSICBIO) to determine the notability of artists and musicians, and none of the Barlow girls fills the criteria. It doesn't matter how good they are, or how notable they are as a band, but if none of them have made a significant career OUTSIDE of the band (for example, John Schlitt from Petra or Steven Tyler from Aerosmith, to name just two different examples) an article for each of the sisters is bound to get merged or even deleted sooner or later.
  • Second, you - and everyone else - are entitled AND encouraged to expand and/or create any worthy article within Wikipedia, as long as it fills the necessary policies of the site for new articles. If you feel you can expand the articles of the Barlow girls beyond of what they do in their band, then you're encouraged to do it. When I proposed the merger, I gave a whole week for any edit, change, or expansion to be done in the articles, but nothing happened. As per the policies, I proceeded with the merger. But that doesn't mean you can't create the articles again IF you think the articles would comply with the notability guidelines mentioned above.
  • Third, artists aren't made "relevant and famous" by appearing on Wikipedia. I doubt the Barlow girls need an article for each of them to increase their popularity. As you can see here, Wikipedia is not a way to promote artists, nor you should put them down by saying that if they don't have individual articles, it is as if "they don't exist". Instead, be proud of your favorite band, and focus on improving the BarlowGirl article to highlight the greatness of these talented girls.
  • Fourth, I don't think I took their names from any list of bassists or musicians, so feel free to add them. But make sure that their names link to the BarlowGirl articles where anyone that doesn't know who they are can read about the band.
  • Fifth, you can contact Walter Görlitz in his own page. Feel free to visit his talk page and write any message there. I don't know him and I don't keep in touch with him.
  • Sixth, you are encouraged by Wikipedia to become a registered user. If you feel you can contribute to the encyclopedia in an encyclopaedic manner, then you're welcome to register and contribute your knowledge about artists, music, or anything else.
I hope to see you collaborate soon around here! Take care and feel free to write me if you have any other questions. Paz! Thief12 (talk) 01:35, 5 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Expedition Impossible Article

[edit]

Hi there, I have added the details for episode 8. My English is not perfect so it would be good if you can go through my writing and tidy them up a bit. :) Also, the word kasbah is capitalized on the show's official website. Do you think we should capitalize it too on the wiki page? 07 Matthew (talk) 06:45, 12 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

It was practically perfect. I just gave it a slight fix here and there. About the word "kasbah", I don't know because kasbah is just a common name for fortresses/citadels, and there are so many seen in the show that I'm not sure if it deserves capitalizing unless the full name of the kasbah is given. Non-free rationale for File:Max-cady.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Max-cady.jpg. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. In your recent edit to List of Grey's Anatomy characters, you added links to an article which did not add content or meaning, or repeated the same link several times throughout the article. But the link worked. I added the link to Pediatric surgery because it had a red link. Since the other characters had similar links to Cardiothoracic Surgery, Neurosurgery, Plastic surgery, and whatnot, I thought that a link to Pediatric surgery would be appropriate. Chief of Staff

[edit]

The position of the Governor of Puerto Rico's Chief of Staff has been called in Spanish different ways under different governors or, as you comment, even under one same Governor---Hernández Colón---but in English it has always been referred to as Chief of Staff. The current official name of "Secretario de la Gobernación" is actually somewhat misleading because the title of "Secretary" or "Secretario" is normally reserved for someone who heads a major agency known as a "department" created by the Constitution or by statute and subject to legislative advice and consent, but has been used so as to elevate its ranking to a level at least equal to that of other "Secretaries" (while, de facto, the Chief of Staff has more power, constitutionally the Secretary of State is the highest ranking de jure---in fact, he's currently serving as Acting Governor this weekend while the Governor is off the island---but probably consults any major decision with the Governor or the Chief of Staff). I think we are safe and accurate in using the title of Chief of Staff as translation to "Secretario de la Gobernación". Pr4ever (talk) 04:30, 26 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:PRSenDist1.gif

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:PRSenDist1.gif. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Hi. In Roberto Vigoreaux, you recently added a link to the disambiguation page Producer (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

There was already an article for that person :Larry Seilhamer Rodriguez. Regards, Mercy11 (talk) 02:15, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

My bad. Since it wasn't linked to the Senate of Puerto Rico article, I supposed there wasn't one and created it. I should've checked better. What do you think would be the best procedure in this case? Which one should be the one to merge with? Thief12 (talk) 03:03, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I already did a redirect. Read here for more info. Thief12 (talk) 06:07, 27 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]
