Speedy deletion nomination of Standing But Not Operating
A tag has been placed on Standing But Not Operating requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Orphaned non-free image File:Dreamworld Q4U logo.png
Thanks for uploading File:Dreamworld Q4U logo.png. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Image Screening Bot (talk) 09:08, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:
- editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
- participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
- linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, the username you have chosen seems to imply that you are editing on behalf of a group, company or website.
There are two issues with this:
- You may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, you must exercise great caution when editing on topics related to your organization.
- Your account cannot represent a group of people. You may wish to create a new account with a username that represents only you. Alternatively, you may consider changing your username to avoid giving the impression that your personal account is being used for promotional purposes.
Regardless of whether you change your name or create a new account, you are not exempted from the guideline to avoid editing where you have a conflict of interest. For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. -- Ϫ 22:48, 30 June 2010 (UTC)

Fair use rationale for File:Emotion_coaster_car_Ferrari_World.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Emotion_coaster_car_Ferrari_World.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Do you want to opt out of receiving this notice? Melesse (talk) 02:58, 7 July 2010 (UTC)

Several images have been removed from your userpage, User:Themeparkgc/Contributions because they are licensed as fair use. Wikipedia's fair use policy states that Copyrighted images under fair use are only allowed to be used in articles about the subject of the image, and only if no free equivalent is available. For example they are not allowed to be used on user pages, in lists, or (typically) in biographies of living people.. As a result, although users are often given a great amount of latitude in the type of content that is allowed on their user pages, it is requested that you abide by this policy. Feel free, however, to add images and media files licensed under other terms. For more information, see Wikipedia's fair use policy and an accompanying essay on the removal of fair use images. Further use of these images will be considered vandalism, and shall be treated as such. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. AussieLegend (talk) 06:56, 30 July 2010 (UTC)

Reviewer permission
Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.
Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.
For the guideline on reviewing, see Wikipedia:Reviewing. Being granted reviewer rights doesn't change how you can edit articles even with pending changes. The general help page on pending changes can be found here, and the general policy for the trial can be found here.
If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:28, 31 July 2010 (UTC)
Your signature
Hi, I've noticed that your signature isn't in compliance with out signature policy in the sense that there is an image in your signature. Images aren't allowed because they can cause unnecessary drain in server resources, and they clutter up discussions in which it is used. Given all of that, I'd like to respectfully ask that you change your signature and remove the image, in order to comply with WP:SIG. Thanks, and happy editing! Connormahtalk 05:10, 31 July 2010 (UTC)

Hello! How are you?
It seems that we're having a bit of back and forth over Melbourne Aquarium being listed on the Village Roadshow page... Melbourne Aquarium isn't owned by Village Roadshow. They just sell their tickets via the MyFun page.
Melbourne Aquarium is a member of Living & Leisure Australia, as per www.melbourneaquarium.com.au
Hope this clears things up!

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Tower of Terror Dreamworld Construction.jpg
Thank you for uploading File:Tower of Terror Dreamworld Construction.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.
If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Magog the Ogre (talk) 07:48, 11 August 2010 (UTC)

Hi there. Great job on the rewrite for the Universal Parks & Resorts articles. There are two issues that need to be resolved with the Jaws (ride) article. The first being is that it should use the Water ride template, however, when I tested this out on the article it resulted in a loss of information; I believe the water ride template should be revamped to include parameters for multiple parks. Also, the article itself should be re-written in the vein of Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey. Just though I'd let you know. Cheers!--Snowman Guy (talk) 03:19, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'll try to expand the water ride template within the next couple of days. It's on my to-do list. Themeparkgc Talk 03:21, 8 September 2010 (UTC)
- I've changed the infobox. It looks like the refurbishment section could be compressed into a couple of paragraphs over the long, short-bullet-pointed list that it currently is. Trivia needs to be merged into the article or removed. Themeparkgc Talk 06:42, 8 September 2010 (UTC)

'Undercover Boss' separation
I would like to know why you separated the episodes section and ratings section to a offspring article, than rather leave it in the parent article Undercover Boss (U.S. TV series). Season two episodes and ratings could of easily fitted into the parent article. I request an detailed reason to why you moved it or your editing will be undone. Thank you in advance, have a nice day Matt-tastic (talk) 04:25, 12 September 2010 (UTC)
- Any television show I have ever looked up on Wikipedia has their episodes in a separate article that doesn't clutter up the normal article, in this case Undercover Boss (U.S. TV series). I was bold and separated the episodes to follow this pattern in an attempt to standardise the article to other similar television articles. Hopefully you will understand my reasoning for this split and leave the changes as they are. If you still disagree with my edit, please post a message on the article's yet-to-be-created talk page to gain support for the reversion. (As a sort of side note, great work with the rating figures that you have added to a variety of articles.) Themeparkgc Talk 05:18, 12 September 2010 (UTC)

Please review what a minor edit is supposed to be. I don't know if you mark all your edits as minor, but I know you're marking a hell of a lot of them that aren't minor at all. Undercover Boss (U.S. TV series) merge
I disagree with your merging of the Undercover Boss (U.S. TV series) into Undercover Boss, I request a undoing of your merge as firstly I believe that Undercover Boss should of been deleted after I moved the information to it's own article because of comments on the talk page. Secondly, Most television series with international adaptions have franchise articles such as Dancing with the Stars, which includes international versions with their own article, for example Dancing with the Stars (Australia) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mr.Television (talk • contribs) 12:59, 29 September 2010
- Fair enough. I thought it just overlapped too much at the moment since the episode listing has been separated. Ideally, if you want them separated, the Undercover Boss article should be rewritten to become more like the Dancing with the Stars article. Thanks for adding the logo for Dare Devil Dive. The previous attempt was done from Commons, where the rules are very strict regarding potentially-copyrighted material (i.e., it ain't allowed). Posting it here in the article itself should be fine. --McDoobAU93 05:23, 2 October 2010 (UTC)

I see that you've reverted my addition of an image to the water coaster article. I can see your point, and from your username I suspect that you've more knowledge of these things than I do. However could you please explain just what the ride in the picture is instead? It's described in the Oakwood Theme Park article as a water coaster, so presumably that ought to be fixed too? Thanks Andy Dingley (talk) 02:03, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- The article in question describes rides like Super Types Hydrocoaster which relies on linear induction motors to power the specially designed rafts up the hill, or Flood River Flyer which uses high speed water jets to blast riders up hills. Now according to Intamin's website (the manufacturer of the ride you provided an image of) the ride is called a Mega Splash water ride. To me, and all article contributors, these styles of rides are not water coasters - they are either roller coasters with water elements or water rides with steep, roller coaster-like drops. An IP user first alerted me to a previous image after a post on the talk page stating "The picture is clearly a rollercoaster with water, not a waterslide with ascents".
- In short, the article is about the water park attraction (wearing swimmers) whereas the images previously included in the article are amusement park attractions (where most people would wear their ordinary clothes).
- One day I am hoping to merge water coaster with water slide and provide a better coverage of both in the one article. Both articles are of quite a low quality at the current time and I hope to give them a bit of an update and upgrade. Hopefully this answers any concerns you may have. Themeparkgc Talk 02:58, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- So just what is the Hydro ride? For "what" it is, it clearly has one large fixed car with seat restraints (like a roller coaster), the lift is on a chain (like a roller coaster) and at the top there's a short slow-speed floating flume before the main drop and the splash. Note that it doesn't (except on the lift itself) use roller coaster-tech like wheels, guide rails etc. I don't know how that fits into the currently defined taxonomy. The WP water ride article is very short and itself uses the water coaster link and the Poseidon image that was removed from water coaster.
- So I'm not very clear what a water coaster is. Is this like a log flume ride with lightweight cars and lifts, or is it like a water slide: swimmers in inflatables, rather than solid cars, but with lifts? I've never seen one of the second type, but that seems to be what you're describing.
- There seems to be something missing from this, a group that rides like Hydro (the photo) would fall into. They're complex rides with substantial roller-like cars, although the water part is more than just water sprays over a roller coaster track. Certainly distinct from water slides, and from roller coasters, but we don't yet seem to have a niche described for them. Although Hydro advises "a change of clothing" (or don't sit in the outside seats), it's basically a streetwear ride, not swimwear.
- I would see water slide as quite different - no cars, no safety restraints. Street or pool clothing, depending on the ride. Andy Dingley (talk) 10:18, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- To me, a water coaster is a type of water slide. However, I am sure others would disagree with this statement. The water slide is what is described in the article so 76.212.158.207 and I agreed here that the original image (Poseidon) was inappropriate for the article. The subsequent image that you added was again of the same style of ride of Poseidon, so it was again removed. If the article was expanded to include information about Poseidon and Hydro-like rides (assuming there would be a source to state explicitly that they are water coasters) the image would be fine, but at this point in time it does not belong here. Themeparkgc Talk 22:37, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- Maybe it doesn't belong in water coaster at all, but the rides clearly exist and they should be describable as something, a something that WP doesn't yet seem to cover. Andy Dingley (talk) 22:59, 12 October 2010 (UTC)
- As I said, one day I'll try and do a bit of research and expand some of these articles to cover this something that these kind of rides are. Themeparkgc Talk 08:01, 13 October 2010 (UTC)

AWB units settings
Sorry for the delay in responding. I haven't been contributing to WP for a while.
I don't use a single stable script and I don't always store settings. You may wish to start with User:Lightmouse/AWB/scripts/add metric units and modify that according to your needs. If you need advice, please just ask. I'd be happy to help. Lightmouse (talk) 12:31, 14 October 2010 (UTC)
- I wasn't quite expecting C#. Anyway, would you be able to tell me as to how I would load this script up in AWB? As a beginner user, I have only really done some basic edits using AWB at this stage and any help/advice would be greatly appreciated. Themeparkgc Talk 00:09, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Go to the Tools menu. Select 'Make module'. Replace everything in the white area at the bottom with User:Lightmouse/AWB/scripts/add metric units. Tick the 'Enabled' checkbox at the top left. Click the 'Make module button'.
- That's it. Any problems, let me know. Lightmouse (talk) 08:08, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- Go to the Tools menu. Select 'Make module'. Replace everything in the white area at the bottom with User:Lightmouse/AWB/scripts/add metric units. Tick the 'Enabled' checkbox at the top left. Click the 'Make module button'.
- Thanks very much. I just had a quick test edit and sure enough it works pretty good. My only concern is pages that have already been patrolled by AWB and the non-breaking space character (& nbsp;) inserted do not seem to change. Anyway, great script and thank you once again. Themeparkgc Talk 10:33, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
I don't understand what you mean by:
- "pages that have already been patrolled by AWB"
- "the non-breaking space character (& nbsp;) inserted do not seem to change" - the script does not add nbsp, but it should apply a metric conversion.
If you clarify what you mean, perhaps I can help. Lightmouse (talk) 12:06, 15 October 2010 (UTC)
- One of the general fixes included in AWB is to apply a non-breaking space between units that do not already feature the convert template. If you look at this test edit I conducted in my user space it converted most of the units but not all. The 1& nbsp;cm example did not convert. Also it missed the km/h. Hopefully this clarifies what I meant. Themeparkgc Talk 00:12, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
I understand now. The script is designed to add metric units. It isn't designed to add non-metric units. I hope that explains your experience with it. Lightmouse (talk) 09:49, 16 October 2010 (UTC)
Disneyland Task Force
Hi, I haven't seen anything happen over at Wikipedia:WikiProject Amusement Parks/Task Forces/Disneyland since you created it. I added a task to the list a month ago, but no one has touched the page since. There are several members listed for the project. Is it alive? —UncleDouggie (talk) 08:43, 17 October 2010 (UTC)
- I attempted to revive the Amusement Park Project about a month ago after it was marked inactive. In order to try and generate greater appeal I merged several other WikiProjects (including Disneyland) into the Amusement Park Project as task forces. The members listed were members of the inactive WikiProjects. It is my intention to one day get around to posting messages to all these users to see if they are still around. However, that is a pretty big task - hence why it hasn't been done yet.
- Unfortunately I missed the to do list creation because it wasn't on my watchlist. The page is now on my watchlist and I have sourced a free image which will be included in the article shortly. Feel free to add any others to Commons from here if the licenses are valid. Themeparkgc Talk 08:58, 17 October 2010 (UTC)

Hi. I declined your block request at the Administrator intervention against vandalism noticeboard (WP:AIV). Here's my reasoning as well as my recommendation as to what to do next: [1]. I agree there's a problem -- I'm just not sure it's "vandalism" as we define it and I don't think WP:AIV is the right forum. If I've misread the situation, please feel free to follow up; if I'm offline, another admin can help you.
Also, when warning an editor like this, I recommend using the {{uw-unsourced1}}/{{uw-unsourced2}}/etc. or {{uw-nor1}}/{{uw-nor2}}/etc. sequences of templates; see Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace#Multi-level templates. This is because they do a better job of explaining the relevant rules to such an editor than the standard vandalism templates ({{uw-vandalism1}}/etc.). --A. B. - I feel that this user's edits are deliberate because on several occasions they have included information stating that something has been (note the past tense) announced on a date into the future (impossible). There is no possibility that it could just be time differences because the date is two or three days into the future. Have a look at the most recent occurrence here. I don't really mind if they don't get blocked but its getting really annoying reverting pointless edits like this. Themeparkgc Talk 22:49, 17 November 2010 (UTC)

The article Sudden Impact! Entertainment Company has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- Non-notable company lacking GHIts and GNEWS of substance. The references listed are short single item statements within a bigger article about another topic.
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

I'd have to check my account, but must be over 5-8 years or so. I'm still confused about having a sensible hence-and-forth-and-back again "discussion". Like e.g. on the TOGO<>Togo issue, it would be great if the software would understand that when I click your user page link from the TOGO discussion page it opens op in yr user page in a new discussion or ongoing discussion topic on the subject. It would save me time writing the title of the topic again and again in a case where we'd like to seriously exchange info, won't you agree? That's the only thing I can think of a real improvement in your user talk template "engine". Thx & have a nice continuation of your day. --SvenAERTS (talk) 08:25, 9 December 2010 (UTC)
- Head to Wikipedia:Userboxes/Gallery for all those userboxes and more. As for barnstars other users have awarded me them for my contributions, and I have adapted the userboxes to match these awards. Here are some statistics about you, that you may be interested in. As for the menu system I have, I modified it from the original I found on the Wikipedia:WikiProject Roller Coasters pages. I also know HTML and CSS which helps a bit. Thanks for your kind comments, and hopefully you have a good day too. Themeparkgc Talk 22:09, 9 December 2010 (UTC)

White City
I renamed White City (amusement park chain) to White City (amusement parks) 'cause it's not really a chain; hope that's OK with you. Herostratus (talk) 16:28, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
- That's fine, it was just the singular "amusement park" that had caused me to move it in the first place. The original White City (amusement park) page wasn't really suited. The plural ([[White City (amusement parks)) is fine. Themeparkgc Talk 22:08, 16 December 2010 (UTC)
