Illegitimate use of alternate account

[edit]

Hi. This edit implies heavily that you are The New Testament (talk · contribs). It seems that you might be circumventing the three revert rule with an illegitimate use of an alternate account. Killiondude (talk) 18:47, 27 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

'TCB', just saying, you don't need to retire an account, as that implies that you have left Wikipedia, and don't intend to edit it again. See wp:CHU. I would suggest re-directing any past user/talk pages here. Or just add a notice saying you are now editing as The Cross Bearer 220 of Borg 08:09, 30 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Does this draft have enough sources to be a notable Wikipedia article?

[edit]

Hello Cross Bearer, I'm Graceking123 and I worked with you on Canon (Rapper) page. I need your opinion on an draft I created for the for Hostyle Gospel. The user Jakob and I feel that I have enough information to submit to prove that this is a notable subject for Wikipedia. The question I'm asking is do you see any reason why I shouldn't resubmit this article? Please help me, I worked very hard finding sources for this article. Graceking123 (talk) 14:10, 13 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Graceking123, 3family6 and Walter Görlitz, You should just create the Hostyle Gospel page instead of going through some arcane process of submitting it to the AfC team. I would say three reviews for one album Immortal Combat are justification enough for notability, and those come from Cross Rhythms, Jesus Freak Hideout, and Louder Than the Music. Their other albums were reviewed by Cross Rhythms, and this proves ongoing coverage of their music by an independently reliable publication. They are 100 percent notable by the first standard. I'd say you create the article, and lets see where this goes. The Cross Bearer (talk) 02:45, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Cross Bearer thank you for the tip! I created most of the Hostyle Gospel page, however I don't know enough about creating an article without the help of the AFC team. If 3family6 and Walter Görlitz want to help I would appreciate it. Also Cross Bearer, if you want to look over my draft I think that would help as well. Here is the link: Draft:Hostyle_Gospel Graceking123 (talk) 03:25, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Graceking123:: The prose needs some polishing and copy-editing, but I'd expect that for a first or second draft. I think that more analysis by independent reliable sources needs to be included - the Cross Rhythms reviews are mentioned, but their analysis isn't included in the article. I'd also draw from the Louder Than the Music and Jesus Freak Hideout reviews that The Cross Bearer mentioned. Also, if you do decide to submit through at AfC, and reviewers are concerned about the sources, you could point them to WP:CM/S, a reference list of reliable sources for Christian music. You could also search through those sources for discussions of Hostyle Gospel.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 05:12, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

HELP!!

[edit]
@3family6 Thank you for the tips! I feel like I'm doing a poor job writing this article. It seem like this is the toughest draft to write and if I continue with my submission I'm going to get this Christian article rejected. @3family6 you said this draft needs polishing. How can I polish this draft? @Cross Bearer, @3family6 and @Walter Görlitz I was confident before but now I'm lost and I need your help. If you guys can't help me, do you know anyone who can? Graceking123 (talk) 14:41, 14 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@The Cross Bearer Thank You! I think we put together an article with reliable sources. However, if the article gets reject again I know this article will be in great hands with you writing it. Graceking123 (talk) 05:46, 15 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

DYK

[edit]

You should consider submitting some of the articles you created to Wikipedia:Did You Know. Any created in the past seven days are eligible, as long as they are 1500 characters or more. You can expand any articles seven days old or less to meet the 1500 requirement and submit those as well. I am willing to help you navigate the DYK process, which can be very confusing or convoluted at times.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 21:20, 17 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

3family6, I simply don't have the time to get the articles throughout the DYK process, after reading the stuff a nominator has to do, especially QPQ's. I would be thrilled, if you have the time to get them to be DYK articles. If not, I understand completely. The Cross Bearer (talk) 08:03, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can nominate a few, sure. It is time-consuming, I must say.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 15:31, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I should mention though that every editor is allowed five nominations before they have to do a QpQ.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 04:09, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thank You for making me a better Wikipedia Writer

[edit]

Thank you for giving me a clearer view on the Articles for creation process. But what I'm still struggling with is how can every article I submitted to Wikipedia be approved, but the article I wrote Hostyle Gospel? I'm a firm believer in justice and I feel that article is not receiving justice. Plus, I want to have a 100% acceptance rate on Wikipedia. I know it's pity but I need 100% approval. Is it possible, or smart, to delete my request for resubmission for that article, then re-create it and submit it again? Because this article, according to the WP:CM/S, should have been accepted the first time I submitted it. Also, could you help me create at article on the Christian Rap group P.I.D? Graceking123 (talk) 19:51, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Graceking123, You need to use sound policy based arguments to get an administrator to create the article for you. Say "Hostyle Gospel meets general notability guidelines because their music is covered in reliable sources to satisfy the first requirement of music groups, and in case you are unfamiliar with Christian music sources."The Cross Bearer (talk) 00:41, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Also I'm trying to create articles on Dillon Chase, Level 3:16 and the Flavor Fest Leadership Conference held in Tampa, Florida each year. Is it possible to use Wikipedia as a reference source? Graceking123 (talk) 21:03, 18 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • You are going to have a hard time getting Dillon Chase created because he does not have much in terms of notability about his music career so far to justify an article, other than mentioning him on 116 Clique artice. The other one you mentioned, Level 3:16, it is already notable for inclusion on this encyclopedia. It has charted on two Billboard charts, as evidenced by awards, and it has two reviews from highly reputable sources in Rapzilla and Cross Rhythms. I cannot help you with Flavor Fest. The Cross Bearer (talk) 00:41, 19 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help!!

Speedy deletion nomination of Bumps Inf

[edit]

Hello The Cross Bearer,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Bumps Inf for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly say why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Kavdiamanju (talk) 06:25, 22 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The article looks great. I was working on it in my sandbox. Would you merge in the content that I found to improve it even more? Royalbroil 00:53, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, I'll work on it some more later. I used some of what you found, but I rephrased it to avoid plagiarism. The Cross Bearer (talk) 01:27, 28 February 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Lauren Daigle (album)

[edit]

Thank you for your help on this page. User: TheLongTone keeps reverting the page saying that she is isn't a notable artist. And they have reverted the page again. I think that it should stay as an article, due to this being her debut album, and her having a top 10 Billboard debut single. And the fact that I have seen articles that have less information on them. What is your opinion on this matter? Ilovechristianmusic (talk) 15:51, 15 April 2015 (UTC)ilovechristianmusic[reply]

How Can It Be vandalism

[edit]

Are you aware of a way to get an administrator involved on this? The album is a notable album, and (TheLongTone) isn't backing up why he is reverting this page. He has something against Daigle/Christian music? Ilovechristianmusic (talk) 18:11, 16 April 2015 (UTC)ilovechristianmusic[reply]

Salaam aleykum. I left a reason in the edit summary. IMO a non-noteworthy album by a barely notable artiste. Incidentally, there is no such thing as Christian Music. There's just good music and bad music. This paranoia comes ill from people who profess to be Christians, but IMO most Americans have not got a clue about what christianity means. Assume good faith and as for getting an admin involved, puh-leese.TheLongTone (talk) 14:11, 17 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
AGAIN. NO. If this page keeps getting reverted, an administrator NEEDS to get involved here. She is a notable artist within the Christian music world, and yes it is a genre, or at least is a sub-genre within multiple genres, and I do agree with you that most people have no clue about true Christianity. Ilovechristianmusic (talk) 20:34, 17 April 2015 (UTC)ilovechristianmusic[reply]
I'm not sure what your point is, TheLongTone, about there being no such thing as Christian music, or your point about paranoia. While I personally agree that often the term "Christian music" is just a marketing ploy, that's my personal opinion and has no bearing on how the genre should be treated on Wikipedia. The article is solidly reliable, as all the sources given are on the Christian music source list. If you disagree that a particular source is reliable, please bring the issue up there. However, CCM Magazine is not a "niche" source, unless you are going to call other genre-specific publications like Terrorizer and XXL "niche" sources.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 04:30, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Amen, Brother!The Cross Bearer (talk) 04:37, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I will agree that if both the CCM Magazine and Jesus Freak Hideout reviews were not there, I'd question the notability somewhat, as the other sources, apart from New Release Tuesday, are rather small, niche sources. However, I still think those sources are reliable, as they do have editorial staffing, with oversight, and are referenced in other publications. But the CCM Magazine review alone makes this article pass the notability thresh-hold with flying colors. Only four years ago, CCM Magazine had over 70,000 worldwide subscribers. That's not exactly a "niche" market.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 04:42, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Amen Again.The Cross Bearer (talk) 04:44, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

By the way, Ilovechristianmusic, admins are editors just like the rest of us. They have access to a lot more tools than most, but they are in no way any more experts or authorities than we are. I see no reason for an admin to get involved here, other than just for their opinion as an ordinary editor--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 04:54, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I have no particular beef against 'Christion music' as a genre. I just think all music genres are pretty absurd. Look at the ludicrous proliferation of 'heavy metal' music. Incidentally, are there sub-genres such as Pentacostalist music or anabaptist music? Keep the faith, whichever one you have. Mine's scientific rationalism.TheLongTone (talk) 10:49, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
3family6, I agree about the admin, my point on that was for them to make the point to either delete the page or protect the page. As for TheLongTone, When I meant sub-genres, I was using an instance that whatever genre - Pop, Contemporary, Country, etc. - has a Christian sub-genre in it. Ilovechristianmusic (talk) 14:33, 18 April 2015 (UTC)ilovechristianmusic[reply]

CrossBearer, that the album charted at 34 on the Christian charts doesn't mean much. Charting on a genre-specific chart means very little, if anything, toward notability, especially it the album charted low, which is the case here.--3family6 (Talk to me | See what I have done) 19:51, 23 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
