[edit]Hi TheKingsTable! Thanks for contributing to Wikipedia. |
Misusing Giant Bomb
[edit]Your obstinate refusal to obey simple Wikipedia guidelines is unacceptable. No-one claims Saturn was easy to program for, but since Giant Bomb doesn't liken the Jaguar's problems to those of the Saturn, you are engaging in original research by comparing them. Is that really so impossible for you to comprehend?TheTimesAreAChanging (talk) 23:37, 16 February 2014 (UTC)
Lupin
[edit]I accidentally submitted the undo before writing a full reply.
Firstly, it "also being known as the pink jacket series" is an incredibly unencyclopedic remark given that this way of referring to the series is just a fan name - much as "shin lupin" is for the second series. It also doesn't have a reliable source. This is then compounded by making further remarks about the colour of his jacket. It's basically trivia which is given undue weight. I'm fully aware it's used by people to differentiate between the series, but it also comes with enough exceptions and special cases between the three of them that it starts to cause issues. The Part about Yuji Ohno is also incredibly incorrect, he wrote the music but he most certainly did not sing it, Yosuke Nakamura sung it.
This isn't wikia or a fan site, everything has to be done properly, and your additions aren't encyclopaedic. If you want to help with Lupin articles that's great, I'm not going to turn down useful contributions. However all this is doing is adding more work that has to be fixed.Dandy Sephy (talk) 18:53, 17 February 2014 (UTC)
Hi, TheKingsTable. I come here to reinforce what other users like TheTimesAreAChanging and Dandy Sephy already said: Wikipedia has policies and guidelines that you must to follow. I recommend you to read it rather than edit warring; you're doing it not only Cobra, but as I checked, in less than three days that you are here, you've been causing trouble in Sega Saturn, Asteroids (video game), List of Lupin III Part III episodes, and Philips CD-i. Please read the edit summaries as well, and don't write false summaries like here. Be careful with mark ups (you "destroyed" here [see ref#33 and a "Cite error" below ref#108] and here [see ref#42]), and cite sources. I couldn't talk about each thing detailed, but I hope I helped. I assume you are trying to help, and that's ok. However, don't forget: you must to follow the guidelines. Cheers, Gabriel Yuji (talk) 05:38, 18 February 2014 (UTC)
Advice from an Admin...
[edit]Hi there. I'm Serge, an Admin on the English Wikipedia. I'm seeing some rather aggressive edit summaries and talk page messages from you across the project. Can you tone it done a bit? Your interactions are becoming disruptive. Please take the time to learn some of our policies a little better, so you won't get so much push-back from your actions, which will, in turn, hopefully make it so you won't be so upset. Thanks! - A couple more things:
- When you have a disagreement, please discuss on the talk page. I've done that for the Bubsy page, and I haven't received a response from you.
- You can't just link to a book listing on Amazon and use that for a citation for a book. You need to cite it further. (Like stating what page it says this on.) Please see https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Citing_sources#Books . Also, as I've said, I've got other reasons for doubting the figure in that book (that you don't seem to understand, based on your edit summaries, but I'll expand on that at the talk page) and its your WP:BURDEN to find a better source or better cite this.
- Please see WP:YOU. We don't address the reader as "You". This is an encyclopedia, not an informal instruction to a friend.
- In general, its fine that you don't know these things. I understand there's a lot to know. But the way you continually go into things so aggressive, with angry edit summaries, and constant reverting, even when conceding there's an issue, despite not fixing it, is disruptive, and will likely get you blocked if you don't stop. Please re-evaluate your attitude on the project. Sergecross73 msg me 17:19, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
I find it strange you think I am angrily editing when I don't believe I have called anyone a liar or anything similar. TheKingsTable (talk) 17:22, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Are you referring to me? I have not called you a liar, I've just said you're not properly sourcing your information. Wikipedia is based entirely on what can be directly verified, and an Amazon book listing link that doesn't show the sales figure hardly verifies it. And like I've said, I've never seen that figure before, and it seems unlikely given how much games typically sold back in the early 1990's. Sergecross73 msg me 17:45, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Uh, what huh? I never mentioned you at all in my first sentence. i was talking about your accusations of me being aggressive and angry. I was not talking about you. Also, I don't see how that's unlikely, the sales were up to 1995 as I quoted from the article. That's total sales for 2 systems from 1993 to 1995. TheKingsTable (talk) 17:52, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- You and I are the only ones talking in this conversation, so I figured you were talking about me when you mentioned someone without a name. Sergecross73 msg me 18:02, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
- Well, I said "I" multiple times, so I just assumed you would know. My bad. TheKingsTable (talk) 18:05, 19 February 2014 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for February 20
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that you've added some links pointing to disambiguation pages. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
- List of Coleco Adam games (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver)
- added links pointing to Black Gold, Dam Buster, Diablo and Castle of Doom

Alcazar: The Forgotten Fortress
[edit]I've tried to clean up your article some, but it still needs a lot of work, and it's hard for me to add much since I can't find any sources on it. What I do know is, I really think you should slow down and figure out how Wikipedia works first. There were a lot of issues with the article. Some of it is basic stuff, like it being laden with typos and random capitalizations. You really ought to slow down and review your writing a little more.
But beyond that, you really should spend some time and see how Wikipedia articles are written. They're meant to be written based off of what reliable sources can verify. Much of what you wrote looked more like a personal journal entry, or a passing conversation with a friend. For instance, you can't just write a huge section about what you've observed about the graphics. That's original research. You need to use sources, and write it like an encyclopedia entry. (For instance, as I've said before, don't refer to the reader as "you". You've done that a lot.
Anyways, I think this is a lot of the reason why you're having such a hard time here on the project. People are challenging you on these types of things, and you're not handling well. But they're right, there's much to address here. Please slow down a bit and try to get the hang of things some more. Thanks. Sergecross73 msg me 15:55, 21 February 2014 (UTC)
