Your GA nomination of 2048 (video game)
Hi there, I'm pleased to inform you that I've begun reviewing the article 2048 (video game) you nominated for GA-status according to the criteria. This process may take up to 7 days. Feel free to contact me with any questions or comments you might have during this period. Message delivered by Legobot, on behalf of Bilorv -- Bilorv (talk) 23:21, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
Regarding recent edit
Hello Thanoscar! Recently you did a rollback on an edit I did for The Buttertones' Wikipedia page and stated I did not source a reliable source. BrooklynVegan is the news outlet that reported on the original situation and I did cite it properly. It does have a copy of the instagram post that was publicly released by Clem from Cherry Glazerr but here is a link to her statement: https://www.instagram.com/p/CCqb8P3FJb5/ Would this be a considerably better source to use? The only mistake I made on the edit had to do with the date, I meant to write down July 15th, 2020 instead of April as this only happened a few days ago.

Your GA nomination of 2048 (video game)
The article 2048 (video game) you nominated as a good article has been placed on hold . The article is close to meeting the good article criteria, but there are some minor changes or clarifications needing to be addressed. If these are fixed within 7 days, the article will pass; otherwise it may fail. See Talk:2048 (video game) for issues which need to be addressed. Rollback
Hi, you rolled back an edit I made for not citing a reliable source. It was to the character list for a TV show which is an unsourced list of information. Not sure why you singled out that particular edit and not one of the other two I made. Interestingly you changed the unsourced, but slightly more accurate description I updated after watching the fifth episode of the series back to an earlier, unsourced, slightly less accurate version. Is it ok if we go with the more accurate version please?--86.31.190.41 (talk) 22:24, 20 July 2020 (UTC)
- As a heads up; it appears to me that you're using rollback inappropriately on good faith edits rather than vandalism despite the instructions from User:Mz7 above. I have left them a message asking them to discuss this with you.--86.31.190.41 (talk) 22:48, 20 July 2020 (UTC)

Hi - you just left me a message saying I didn't use a reliable source to cite the information I referenced on the R.L. Thornton page. The D Magazine article I cited fits the wikipedia criteria so I don't understand your comment. Can you clarify. 76.183.236.229 (talk) 00:03, 23 July 2020 (UTC)

I've not taken a conscious decision not to archive my talk page, it's just something I've never given thought to at all! For years there was very little traffic on it, so it never came to mind. You're right, though, it's something I should probably do since the page is getting rather long. Neiltonks (talk) 07:50, 27 July 2020 (UTC)

Sources needed for Days of the Year pages
I see you recently accepted a pending change to April 29 that did not include a direct source.
You're probably not aware of this change, but Days of the Year pages are no longer exempt from WP:V and direct sources are required for additions. For details see the edit notice on that page, the content guideline and/or the WikiProject Days of the Year style guide. All new additions without references are now being either reverted on-sight or in some cases where the patroller is especially motivated, immediately sourced. I've gone ahead and backed this edit out.
All the pages in the Days of the Year project have had pending changes protection turned on to prevent vandalism and further addition of entries without direct sources. As a pending changes patroller, it's not required but it sure would be helpful if you didn't accept additions to day of year pages where no direct source has been provided on that day of year page. The burden to provide sources for additions to these pages is on the editor who adds or restores material to these pages.
Thank you and please keep up your good work! Toddst1 (talk) 23:00, 5 August 2020 (UTC)

Braided Hair half cent moved to draftspace
An article you recently created, Braided Hair half cent, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:
" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please follow the prompts on the Articles for Creation template atop the page. ... discospinster talk 00:28, 23 October 2020 (UTC)

- Empire AS, Puddleglum was my CVUA trainer, so I used to pop in their TP to ask questions/whatnot from time to time. About the work, you're about halfway done with the course so far, so more work would happen if we each answer each other's pings quickly. I'm usually on Wikipedia every day, so you'll have more to work on. Unfortunately, the syllabus is the same, so when the course is done, you can patrol recent changes. I've pinged you at the page, and I'm starting where you left off (CSD examples). Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 23:19, 1 January 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Dr. Li Wenliang
A tag has been placed on Dr. Li Wenliang requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Superfluous. We have thousands of articles about people with degrees, and none of them has such a redirect, or should have.
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. - Markjvanwoert, if Dick Kulpa died there would be at least one reliable source stating his death. If you can find a source, then I have no problems with adding his death; it's just that Wikipedia has an extremely strict policy regarding biographies of living people. Helping as a trainer in CVUA
Hello Thanoscar, I see that you're a trainer at CVUA. I was wondering if I could help out there, given that most of my time on Wikipedia is spent reverting vandalism (mainly through the abuselog, sometimes through recent changes). I couldn't find a list of 'requirements' on the actual CVUA page, so I'm asking here - I hope that's alright with you. Thanks, Pahunkat (talk) 12:07, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Hi Pahunkat, there's no real set of rules. It's just whether you have the time and the experience to train others. You've been here longer than I have and have more edits than I, so I really don't see why not. The CVUA program doesn't include the abuselog, just a heads up. Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:06, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Pahunkat, oh, and I forgot: you can see my template here. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 15:28, 5 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the advice Thanoscar! I'm guessing these templates are open-source and trainers can make their own versions based on these? Pahunkat (talk) 15:30, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Letterkenny Problems
I have been updating the Letterkenny characters page with new characters and info. The introduction has a very long summary of who joined the main cast at which times which doesn't seem necessary and is covered in the table below. I wrote this in my edit summary. - Specialsam110, I haven't made an edit on that page, so I think you've got the wrong person. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:06, 7 January 2021 (UTC)
CVU/A request thing
I am quite well-versed in the field of counter-vandalism myself, but I would like to participate in CVU/A in order to further immerse myself in that realm. Also, RedWarn is amazing. JJP...MASTER![talk to] JJP... master? 20:24, 12 January 2021 (UTC)

Lang Leav (Criticism Section Revision)
This section is not entirely accurate and is more opinion based rather than being objective. It does not include any of the positive critique from numerous world renowned and recognised media publications and focuses mainly only on a negative narrative. From sources that have doubtful academic or journalistic credentials. If this is to be an honest, balanced and a fair interpretation, this section needs revision or to be deleted. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.72.49.254 (talk) 02:48, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
- Wikipedia won't whitewash articles. All people have criticism. The Style and Inspiration section is sickeningly promotional sounding. Everybody has criticism at them, and just because you don't like it is no reason for you to remove the section. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:51, 13 January 2021 (UTC)
Your draft article, Draft:IPhone (2020)
Hello, Thanoscar21. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "IPhone".
In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply and remove the {{db-afc}}
, {{db-draft}}
, or {{db-g13}}
code.
If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.
Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! UnitedStatesian (talk) 03:06, 14 January 2021 (UTC)
CVU/A Training request
Hi Thanoscar21, I would like to be one of your trainees for CVU/A because I am looking to be a trainer myself and I think that doing the CVU/A course would be a very helpful resource. Thanks, (eggybonk! (contribs)) 16:17, 16 January 2021 (UTC))
- Eggybonk11, I'd be glad to! I've pinged you at the training page. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:51, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
Optional RfA candidate poll
As noted in the instructions, the poll is intended solely for those who intend to file a request for administrative privileges in the near future. It becomes highly speculative to provide feedback on your chances beyond that. As suggested in the instructions, you would be better served finding a friendly, experienced editor to give you feedback. isaacl (talk) 23:39, 17 January 2021 (UTC)
- Isaacl, all right, thanks for the advice. Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:50, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
Editing group looking to learn about Counter-Vandalism
Hello! I am a member of a group that has been learning together how to edit, basically through an ongoing edit-a-thon that meets once a week. We are relatively new Wikipedians (about six of us, who are librarians, teachers, physicists, and graphic designers with an average of about four months of editing experience each). We have a consensus that we would like to learn more about counter-vandalism as a way many of us might like to participate in doing the work going forward. Since you are in the same range of time zones as ourselves (we live spread across the continental US), we wondered if you might be willing to join us one week (by Zoom, chat, or other function) to talk to us about this type of work? Ultimately, it is likely that one or two of us may sign up for the academy and then share skills with the rest of the group. Thank you, Oughtta Be Otters (talk) 05:29, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oughtta Be Otters, you can ask me any questions right here on this talk page! I'm a little bit confused; so, you'd just like me to train you at the CVUA? As for the Zoom, any of you can just ask questions here; I like to have a record of things and for the purposes of transparency. I'd be glad to train you for the academy, and looking through your contribs, you have done much to help this encyclopedia, and thank you for your efforts. I'll create the training page once you'll clarify a bit, and I'm looking forward to the next few weeks of training you! Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:50, 16 January 2021 (UTC)
- Thanoscar21, thank you for your response. I realize my original request was a little unorthodox, and suspect it would have just led to me requesting an opportunity to be trained. Thus, if you are still willing, I would be really grateful to kick off the training process. Gratefully, Oughtta Be Otters (talk) 10:33, 18 January 2021 (UTC)
- Oughtta Be Otters, all right! I've pinged you at the talk page, let me know if it didn't pass through. Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 23:52, 18 January 2021 (UTC)

Biden
Apparently a 'new' editor has chosen to change your lead idea at Joe Biden & refuses to undo his bold version :( GoodDay (talk) 02:56, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
- GoodDay, I'm assuming you mean the version that seemed to have consensus? I'm pretty sure Prinsgezinde violated the BRD rule, as pinned on the TP. I changed it back to the consensus-ed (if that's a word) version. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 23:31, 21 January 2021 (UTC)
Speedy deletion contested: Draft:Channing Diaz
Hello Thanoscar21. I am just letting you know that I contested the speedy deletion of Draft:Channing Diaz, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Not a test page. Thank you. Passengerpigeon (talk) 23:06, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Passengerpigeon, can you tell me what you'd tag it as, if you'd tag it at all? I'm trying not to assume a combative tone, more of a curious tone. I tagged it as G2 because:
- It's 99% the kid making a page about himself
- Doesn't belong at Wikipedia
- He said that he was 10, so he's probably just seeing if he can make a page.
- As much as I'd like to nuke pages like this, it simply doesn't meet any of the criteria for speedy deletion; A7 (non-notable) only applies to published articles, not drafts, and G2 only applies where the content appears to be a test and contains no usable information (such as "Bold textItalic textuebfyyiywhidbfhvweyqvfiyVF4"). We will just have to wait six months for it to be deleted under G13. Passengerpigeon (talk) 23:23, 20 January 2021 (UTC)
- Passengerpigeon: I see now, thanks for replying. I've also formatted your reply, hope you don't mind. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 23:33, 21 January 2021 (UTC)

I Want to join CVU . Please admit me Jogesh 69 (talk) 17:09, 24 January 2021 (UTC)Jogesh 69
- Jogesh 69, you have a request over here, so maybe wait for for that to be answered? Also, a quarter of your own edits have been to your own userpage; you only have 91 edits in the namespace. You've also been warned multiple times on your talk page to stop doing certain things, yet you continue to do them. As of right now, I don't see how you would benefit from a CVUA training, maybe you can come back after two to three months? Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:20, 24 January 2021 (UTC)

About my edit summary
I didn't think Wikipedians would be so anti-fun as to consider a tongue-in-cheek summary of a perfectly legitimate and informative edit vandalism. Maybe I overestimated this site's sense of humor. —GreenWeasel11 (talk) 16:25, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- GreenWeasel11, I understand the joke, and I laughed at the joke, but Wikipedia's edit filter might have filtered it out. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 16:28, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- @GreenWeasel11: Fix ping. Thanoscar21talkcontributions 16:29, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- So the real problem here is that vandalism-detecting bots aren't programmed to understand jokes. Anyway, any human should be able to agree that I'm protected by the sentence "Even if misguided, willfully against consensus, or disruptive, any good-faith effort to improve the encyclopedia is not vandalism." —GreenWeasel11 (talk) 16:31, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- That's true, but ClueBot NG can't really understand the difference between good faith and vandalism. You won't get in trouble (because bots aren't perfect, obviously), but there will be a message on your talk page. Just curious, are you on WSB? Thanoscar21talkcontributions 16:39, 28 January 2021 (UTC)
- I am indeed (as of yesterday; I'm a bandwagoner), with the same username, which may be unwise. —GreenWeasel11 (talk) 17:14, 28 January 2021 (UTC)

CVU Student request.
Hi, I am WeißFocusRS, a new-ish user that is very interested in helping the wiki, I read that you are a previous academy graduate. I would like to learn how to counter vandals, and you seem like a good trainer. I am using Central Standard Time, so let's see if this will work out. :D PS: I have been blocked before due to an edit, but I did manage to get myself unblocked. I was sincerely sorry about that one, and I want to make up for it by helping the CVU.WeißFocusRS (talk) 15:51, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
- WeißFocusRS, hi! I see you only have 17 edits in the mainspace; the recommendation in the CVUA page is to have 200. You can check your count here. If you'll come back maybe after a month or two, then I'd be glad to accept. Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 22:13, 29 January 2021 (UTC)
Thank you, it is very much appreciated, I will come back after that. — Preceding unsigned comment added by WeißFocusRS (talk • contribs) 17:56, 29 January 2021 (UTC)

CVUA (Counter Vandalism Unit Academy) Student Admission Request
Hi, Thanoscar21. I am Iloveguppy, a new user in Wikipedia. I have recently been interested in becoming a member of the counter vandalism unit and noticed that you are a trainer for CVUA. Wonder if you could accept me as one of your students.
Hope to hear from you soon.

- Iloveguppy, hi! On the CVUA page, it says that around 200 edits in the mainspace are necessary, and you have less than 15. You can check your edit count here. If you'll come back with a bit more experience and after a couple of months, I'd be glad to accept you. Thanks, Thanoscar21talkcontributions 23:05, 31 January 2021 (UTC)
Oh ok, I will see you when I hit 200 edits then :)
