Hey Tezero. When you support at FAC, could you put it in bold at the front of a line, at either the beginning or end of your section? The FAC coords haven't always seen supports in the past that showed up in other places. Thanks. - Dank (push to talk) 02:06, 20 December 2014 (UTC)
- Apologies, Dank; I've moved it. I've never noticed it being an issue before, but then again I don't know if I've ever put my support near the end of the sentence at a level-four indentation, so there you go. Tezero (talk) 16:28, 20 December 2014 (UTC)

Alright. I'll get onto Sega Saturn now. In return, could you do the review for Tales of Rebirth unless someone beats you to it. It's been hanging around for over a month, I think. --ProtoDrake (talk) 22:19, 23 December 2014 (UTC)

Apologies again for the slow review. I can't help but feel partly responsible for the nomination's closure. I'll be there to finish my copyedit and support whenever you renominate. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 14:46, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- JimmyBlackwing, with all due respect, yes, you are partially responsible, although I also kept asking for input from WP:VG and no one showed up. Ugh, this is not what I wanted to wake up to today. I've dealt with worse, though. You don't have to wait for me to renominate to finish copyediting, though, if you think you can sooner (all you had was Reception, right?). Tezero (talk) 16:35, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- (edit conflict) I'm not sure when I'll have time, given my schedule and the upcoming holidays. I haven't had much time for Wikipedia at all, lately. I'd add that the article's prose—rather than WPVG's lack of interest and my absurdly slow review—was the primary cause of the nom's failure. Otherwise, the six or seven hours that I spent reviewing and copyediting the page would not have been necessary. (For reference, I spent over an hour just on this response.) FAC is for vetting and tweaking, rather than finishing, an article; and far too many VG pages get nominated without that fact in mind. Even though it's my style, it isn't a reviewer's job to fix prose line by line—that's for nominators and copyeditors to handle. In the future, I'll be sure not to string people along with sluggish reviews like this one, but that's going to mean bare-bones, Tony1-esque oppose votes whenever I can't give an article the attention I'd prefer. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 17:55, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- Don't worry Tezero, we can share the pain. This is why I hate the FAC process! Anyway have a good Christmas. ☠ Jaguar ☠ 17:35, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- Weird, Jaguar, coincidentally I was just looking at that. I was planning to get around and review that one, but it looks like there's plenty to do in the meantime. Anyway, I've entreated Ian Rose for a waiver of the normal two-week moratorium on renomination due to the circumstances in which this one closed, which seem to fit the waiver requirements, but we'll have to see. Tezero (talk) 17:38, 24 December 2014 (UTC)
- Thanks for looking at it, yes there are still a few problems which I will address however as of the 26th I will have to take a few days off Wikipedia. My concussion is limiting the way I concentrate for now. I could address a few tonight, so any comments you might have would be very appreciated! ☠ Jaguar ☠ 17:41, 24 December 2014 (UTC)

I see. Could you help with the "Setting" and "Characters" sections? Other game-related GAs (like Crash of the Titans) have them but this one doesn't.--Phil A. Fry (talk) 19:19, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
- Phil A. Fry, Setting and Characters sections aren't required. Plenty of game-related GAs like Sonic Lost World, Sonic Unleashed, and Mother 3 don't have them. They tend to work better when games have distinct, detailed settings and casts of characters that some has been written about, although of course there are plenty of exceptions. For now I'll remove the headers and work on a version of the Plot section with those in my tempspace to see if it looks any good. Tezero (talk) 21:19, 1 January 2015 (UTC)

Thanks, and something else
Thanks for the Drakengard Music review. Now, if only I knew how to class and nominate the Characters article, I could have myself a good topic. I don't know whether it stands as a list or a normal article. By the way, I'm doing something completely new for me. I'm preparing a rewrite for Cowboy Bebop: The Movie, and then I'm going to take it to GA after suitable tweaking. The draft is being prepared in my sandbox at this moment. Either during writing, or after I've done the rewrite, could you help with copy-editing and such? If you're not interested, then that's fine too. --ProtoDrake (talk) 20:02, 6 January 2015 (UTC)

Sonic 3
I have finished sourcing everything that needed to be sourced - more specifically the destruction of all {{citation needed}} and {{fact}} tags. I have also managed to get hold of one or two offline sources for Sonic 3, so I'll put that to good use soon. I was just checking up on what you planned to do with your stuff in userspace and was also wondering on what you would do next with the article. I understand if you need to prioritize other things first, if you're still busy that is? ☯ Jaguar ☯ 19:28, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- Oh, yeah, sorry, Jaguar. I found it difficult to write the section at first with how similar the gameplay is to Sonic 2's, but at the same time I do think it doesn't really give enough context to the reader and isn't quite concise enough. But I have about twenty minutes of free time here now, so I can start again. Tezero (talk) 21:49, 19 January 2015 (UTC)
- No problem, but really don't worry about it if you're busy. If you like I could handle the prose side of things for whatever you want to replace? No rush of course, good luck with your internship ☯ Jaguar ☯ 00:24, 20 January 2015 (UTC)
- Nah, I got it done, Jaguar. I've marked a few sources that are likely to be challenged as unreliable, so those'll need to be replaced and the rest will have to be formatted for consistency, but besides that I think we're about ready. Tezero (talk) 23:52, 21 January 2015 (UTC)
- Oh cool! I'll get to implementing reliable sources in the article in the morning (I have been developing a skill for locating them recently). I guess I can give everything a copyedit too. A lot of date formats are inconsistent and publishers missing too, so that can be another thing for me to work on. Feel free to nominate it as I think it will be some time before anybody reviews it (I'd say a week). ☯ Jaguar ☯ 00:28, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
- Think I've covered the formatting and unreliable sources, Jaguar, so I've nominated it accordingly. Tezero (talk) 19:37, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

Let me know what you think of the article now? This is the revision before I edited it and this is the revision where I left off. All that's left now are the reception and plot sections. The plot summary in the lead may be off, as I summarized it as "the game follows both Sonic and Knuckles the Echidna to stop Dr. Robotnik's orbital weapon, the Death Egg, from destroying Angel Island", but with that being said it has been a long time since I played it so I can't fully recall the details. The plot section may be alright, but I know you like to write plot sections accordingly, so I hope for your judgement! The reception section is a little dry, so I'll find more content for that today. ☯ Jaguar ☯ 16:58, 27 January 2015 (UTC)
- Well done on getting Sonic 3 to GA! About S&K, don't worry I'm not slacking, I've had to spend all night on organising something outside Wikipedia. I'm going to re-develop the reception section ASAP and after that it should be good to go. ☯ Jaguar ☯ 19:41, 5 February 2015 (UTC)

Navajo language
Hi Tezero, I just wanted to ask if you had any intention to complete your GA review for Navajo language. It appears that no progress has been made in the past month. If for whatever reason you cannot complete the review, please close it. Thanks!--Dom497 (talk) 14:23, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
- Dom497, I'm waiting until I get back to school in a few days since my library at home wasn't able to get anything sufficient on Inter-Library Loan and for the most part I've exhausted what's available online. (My school has a couple of good sources.) That being said, there's probably more I can do with rewriting the Grammar section (which the reviewer wanted me to do) in the meantime. Thanks! Tezero (talk) 14:41, 22 January 2015 (UTC)

- As far as I am concerned the review is a thing between you and me, and we decide when to close it. You said you don't care if we close it and you renominate later. Can I talk that to mean that that is what you prefer, and that you don't see yourself responding to my comments within a reasonable timeframe? If you say so, then I will close it, and if you wish you can consult me on my talkpage for any further ideas about improving the article. My comments from the previous review still stand: I think you should study some more linguistics before doing GA work on language articles. But I will be happy to continue working with you in doing that.User:Maunus ·ʍaunus·snunɐw· 20:01, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
- Maunus, that's fine; I would prefer if you closed it. I've learned a great amount of linguistics over this time - both by browsing WALS maps and academic pieces to scour for Navajo details and in a conlanging project with a few friends - e.g. I had no idea what "head-marking" or "internally-headed relative clause" meant going in, but I don't have nearly the mastery of all of that as applied to Navajo that's required to write intelligently and concisely about it at this point, nor access to a couple of the more well-respected pieces of literature on the subject. I'm not sure if there's anything in my tempspace copy of the Grammar section that you'd consider better-written than what's in the article now, but you're welcome to swap in whatever you like. I hope to return to this article eventually, but the appropriate time is not now. Tezero (talk) 03:38, 16 February 2015 (UTC)

Sonic Boom
Hi Tezero, I saw your reversion here at Sonic Boom (TV series). I first contemplated reverting your reversion, but after seeing that the contribution was peppered with silly rhetorical questions that seems like they could have been copy/pasted out of a press release, like, "But will turning over a new leaf be good or bad once Eggman crashes the ceremony?" I thought the better of it. Especially with the other grammatical problems. I'm not sure if you know (and I'm making an unfounded assumption) but per WP:TVPLOT we should expect summaries to be in the 100-200 word range, even if other summaries are not presented this way. I think the kids believe that they are supposed to be writing loglines, which is silly. Our job is to explain the key points of an episode, which (as you acknowledge being aware of) could include spoilers. These loglines tend to be problematic anyway, because the more of them there are, the more like it is that kids will copy/paste them from other sources, rather than writing them from scratch. Anyhow, this isn't a criticism, this isn't a lecture—I support your reversion—I just wanted to share some of the community expectations on the off-chance you might not be aware of the minutia. Regards, and good editing! Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:21, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- Thanks, Cyphoidbomb, your off-chance was spot-on. The only other TV show article I've worked much on is Sonic X, which ended before Wikipedia was really the source of Internet knowledge, let alone generating arguments over "cite episode" templates, and it ran for far too long to include all the episode summaries in the main article - so I've never had a reason to deal with this before. I've seen all the episodes of Boom, so if you want I could probably write some new ones. Tezero (talk) 04:51, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- I trust you implicitly to make your improvements. The only real suggestion I would add is to please avoid speculative, or interpretive content. We get a lot of "maybe"s, "perhaps"es and "which could possibly mean"s, which often winds up inviting "crush cruft", and other problems... The ideal summary would have a beginning, a middle, a mention of the main complication, and an end, which could very well be a spoiler. Oh well! Go at it! - Cyphoidbomb, is this in the right direction? Tezero (talk) 22:28, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
- I think that's a great addition! It's within the word range, and I'm sure there's a way to sculpt the language to cut a few words if even for the challenge of coming in less wordy, but in terms of describing what happens in the episode—it's good! It's interesting, and way better than the perfunctory loglines we usually get. Keep at this! And don't forget the guideline so you can educate the n00bs who think that copy/pasting is acceptable. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:39, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- Ooooooooh—in just now noticing your edit history, I realize that an editor with 20k+ edits typically doesn't need pedantic criticism. (Although sometimes they do, and I have a list!!) You seem to have it pretty much in control with your solid summaries. Do God's work. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 06:46, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

FAC nomination
Hi, about a year ago, you reviewed God of War III's FAC nomination (which unfortunately did not pass then). I've recently renominated the article if you wouldn't care to review again. --JDC808 ♫ 18:13, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- I've seen it, JDC808 - to be frank, the reason I haven't reviewed it is that it's got an Oppose and is unlikely to pass with that anyway. Have you tried contacting hahnchen to ask him to reconsider, and if so, can you leave some kind of explicit note to the FAC coords that you believe you've addressed all of his issues? Tezero (talk) 18:26, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- I did leave a message on his talk page because he hadn't responded for a few days. He has struck his oppose. --JDC808 ♫ 06:10, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Quality Control (song)
The article Quality Control (song) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Richhoncho (talk) 14:50, 1 February 2015 (UTC)
Congrats
Congratulations on another FA under your belt. You've been doing a lot of good for the fangame scene—keep up the solid work. JimmyBlackwing (talk) 08:06, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
A barnstar for you!
The Original Barnstar | |
I don't know if you remember me from last year, I was involved in some of the VG character notability RfCs (Looking back, I can't believe what little I knew about notability compared to now, not that I'd have !voted different today). Anyway, I don't think I ever gave you a barnstar for all of your GAs, nice work, and you're still going! AmaryllisGardener talk 01:41, 3 February 2015 (UTC) |
- Thanks, AmaryllisGardener! Yes, I do remember you from that. I've long relinquished hope for "notability" as a logical, meaningful, enforceable concept here - to some, that's sour grapes; to me, it's sanity. In a way, not being involved in character article creation is relaxing. Regardless, I'm glad to see my efforts elsewhere are still noticed once in a while! Tezero (talk) 02:50, 3 February 2015 (UTC)
- You're welcome! I agree that defining notability has gotten very difficult. Anyway, happy editing! :) --AmaryllisGardener talk 02:57, 3 February 2015 (UTC)

Template:GameFAQs
Hi. There is a TfD for {{GameFAQs}} in Wikipedia:Templates for discussion/Log/2015 February 8 § Template:GameFAQs. (It generates an external link to gamefaqs.com.) It is relisted, so I thought it'd be a good idea to call people who work in the relevant field, such as yourself.
One minor issue: The relisting admin was a little bit – shall we say – disenfranchised by unrelated discussions like the general merit of GameFAQs links outside the EL section. So, I'd appreciate if such discussions were either totally avoided or kept to a bare minimum. Thanks a lot. Best regards, Codename Lisa (talk) 04:49, 9 February 2015 (UTC)

Getting books
Hey—if you need books, be sure to ask your university library. If they don't have it, they'll order it, and if they won't order it, they'll get it for you from interlibrary loan! And if you're out of university, let me know and I can help you find what you need. czar ⨹ 19:12, 15 February 2015 (UTC)
