Your username, COI editing and declaration of paid editing

[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "AMSETregistrar", may not comply with our username policy. Please note that you may not use a username that represents the name of a company, group, organization, product, service, or website. Examples of usernames that are not allowed include "XYZ Company", "MyWidgetsUSA.com", and "Foobar Museum of Art". However, you are permitted to use a username that contains such a name if it identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company", "Mark at WidgetsUSA", or "FoobarFan87".

Please also note that Wikipedia does not allow accounts to be shared by multiple people, and that you may not advocate for or promote any company, group, organization, product, service, or website, regardless of your username. Please also read our paid editing policy and our conflict of interest guideline. If you are a single individual and are willing to contribute to Wikipedia in an unbiased manner, please request a change of username, by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, choosing a username that complies with our username policy. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why.

Hello: if you are a museum registrar, you need to change your name to something that indicates a specific person per the usrname policy. Thanks. ThatMontrealIP (talk) 20:55, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Also, you are probably OK adding very neutral entries, as you have been doing, to indicate that someone is in your museum collection. However you need to start adding sources for that claim. If you work at the musuem, then it should be easy to add a reference using the ref tags as you will know exactly where that information is published on the web. Material added without references can be challenged and deleted.
You will also need to make a WP:PAID declaration on your user page that you are being paid to edit Wikipedia, which is is usually the situation with employees of companies that edit articles. We take the fact that you are drawing a salary while editing as equivalent to paid editing of Wikipedia.ThatMontrealIP (talk) 20:59, 23 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Username change?

[edit]

Hi! I happened to see that you said here that you'd asked for a change of username, but I don't see where you did that (I was going to take care of that for you). The best place to make that request is here. Justlettersandnumbers (talk) 21:44, 25 June 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Theroadislong. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Eddie Arning, but you didn't provide a reliable source. If you'd like to include a citation please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you.
