USRD Inactivity check and news report

Hello, Tennisuser123. We had a few urgent matters to communicate to you:

  1. Please update your information at Wikipedia:WikiProject U.S. Roads/Participants, our new centralized participant list. Those who have not done so by October 20th will be removed.
  2. There are important discussions taking place at WT:USRD relating to whether WP:USRD, WP:HWY, or the state projects should hold the "power" in the roads projects.

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of 2007 Hansol Korea Open Tennis Championships, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://wtaworld.com/showthread.php?p=11705961. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 13:20, 6 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Orangecheck

Hi, I just noticed that a template you created, Template:Orangecheck, is unused and appears to be abandoned. I've marked it as deprecated, meaning it'll be deleted in two weeks' time if nobody objects. If there's a reason to keep it please leave a note at Wikipedia talk:Deprecated and orphaned templates and feel free to remove the {{deprecated}} tag from the template. Thanks. Image:Marc4900a.jpg listed for deletion

An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Marc4900a.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. -- Samuell (talk) 18:27, 16 November 2007 (UTC) -- Samuell (talk) 18:27, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Tennisuser123, I thought I'd drop you a note to let you know I have redirected the article above, because it was only one sentence, provided no contextual information, and could easily be incorporated into the current article, 2007 Tennis Channel Open. Individual event finals don't always need their own page, especially when the main article is not long, and the information can be added to them easily. Hope this explains why it was redirected. Cheers, ArielGold 13:13, 23 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Notability of Sulfan Khalfan

A tag has been placed on Sulfan Khalfan requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article appears to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable. If this is the first page that you have created, then you should read the guide to writing your first article.

If you think that you can assert the notability of the subject, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm the subject's notability under Wikipedia guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. brewcrewer (yada, yada) 17:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of The Marco Polo Club

A tag has been placed on The Marco Polo Club, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on 2008 French Open - Mixed Doubles requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Marko Đoković, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Orphaned non-free media (Image:Logo costa.gif)

Thanks for uploading Image:Logo costa.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 19:16, 6 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Need your advice

Hi there, Saw you on the list of Tennis members after User:Dantheox and since he seems not to be active at the moment i thought it best to contact you. I was wondering where do you think is the place to find the draws for past Wimbledon championships just like is seen at the 1929 Wimbledon Championships - Men's Singles, i tried to access the link at the bottom where Dan said he got it from at ITF but no luck.

Your probably thinking why in the world i would be interested, its just that i fixed up an error Dan made when he created the above article, instead of naming it 1929 he named it 1939 and i have just fixed up that error. I added the basic information to the 1939 Wimbledon Championships - Men's Singles

It was like that since creation back in August of 2007, guess i came around it at the right time, actually it was through this edit on the left that made me investigate. Thats what where all here for i guess, to fix others mistakes so just to let you know. Thanks Monster Under Your Bed (talk) 12:08, 4 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tie-breaks

Hi tennisuser, I've seen your recent edits on the ongoing tennis events articles, and wanted to highlight the fact that the current practice for tie-breaks scores in tennis articles on wikipedia and elsewhere, is to write only the loser's score, as the winner's score is implied. You should write :

Final
1 Switzerland Roger Federer 4 4 7 7 7
2 Spain Rafael Nadal 6 6 65 68 9

and not:

Final
1 Switzerland Roger Federer 4 4 77 710 7
2 Spain Rafael Nadal 6 6 65 68 9

Hi there. For the image Image:82064Panel.jpg I noticed that you've licensed it as being from trainweb.com, however the URL you posted as the image's source is actually from trainweb.org[1] which seems to have a more restrictive licensing policy[2] than trainweb.com does.[3] I can see with the only difference between the websites being .org vs. .com, that this would be an easy mistake to make — unless I'm the one who's mistaken (always a good possibility!) Please let me know. Thanks! —Elipongo (Talk contribs) 05:44, 27 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
