How should I specify the source for a filmography
This help request has been answered. If you need more help, you can , contact the responding user(s) directly on their user talk page, or consider visiting the Teahouse. |
I created a filmography for Jessie Andrews but now I'm not sure where to specify the source. Please help me, thank you. teammathi 16:52, 5 April 2012 (UTC)
- It's already sourced to AFDb. Articles are not meant to be exhaustive coverage of every detail, and filmographies should only have the most successful film per year, plus those the performer won awards for individually. Subjects normally have only one external link (her official site), so adding twitter is against Wikipedia:External links guidelines. Dru of Id (talk) 17:38, 5 April 2012 (UTC)

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, your addition of one or more external links to the page Jessie Andrews has been reverted.
Your edit here to Jessie Andrews was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove links which are discouraged per our external links guideline. The external link(s) you added or changed (http://www.facebook.com/jessiesandrews) is/are on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia.
If you were trying to insert an external link that does comply with our policies and guidelines, then please accept my creator's apologies and feel free to undo the bot's revert. However, if the link does not comply with our policies and guidelines, but your edit included other, constructive, changes to the article, feel free to make those changes again without re-adding the link. Please read Wikipedia's external links guideline for more information, and consult my list of frequently-reverted sites. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. The article List of accolades received by James Deen has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- see WP:NOTPROMOTION: this list is unambiguous promotion, and can never be a neutral encyclopaedic article
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AndyTheGrump (talk) 02:04, 14 April 2012 (UTC)

Thank you for your recent contributions, such as Ice Cold (pornographic actor). Getting started creating new articles on Wikipedia can be tricky, and you might like to try creating a draft version first, which you can then ask for feedback on if necessary, with less risk of speedy deletion. Do make sure you also read help available to you, including Your First Article and the Tutorial. You might also like to try the Article Wizard, which has an option to create a draft version. Thank you. Widefox (talk) 17:54, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Hello Teammathi. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.
All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.
If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:
- Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
- Be cautious about deletion discussions. Everyone is welcome to provide information about independent sources in deletion discussions, but avoid advocating for deletion of articles about your competitors.
- Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
- Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.
Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.
For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. porn film industry Widefox (talk) 17:56, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, such as you did in the article Ice Cold (pornographic actor). Wikipedia is not the "Yellow Pages". If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. can you explain why all your edits are for adverts for porn stars/films? Widefox (talk) 18:00, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- I did not create the article Ice Cold (pornographic actor) to promote business as I am not affiliated with any porn stars/sites/studios or the like. I have just started out editing wikipedia pages and had noticed that often sources were missing and the pages were missing information. teammathi 18:08, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- OK, then why did you create the article 1. without doing so in you userspace first? 2. attempt to use a template that prevents editing 3. your edits are complex for a new user . Do you have explanations for only editing and promoting porn stars/films? May I suggest you edit other things that are not porn industry? How does that sound? Widefox (talk) 18:17, 17 April 2012 (UTC)
- 1. I didn't know I had to add the created pages to my user page. I apologize and will do that in the future. 2. What do you mean with a template that prevents editing? 3. I researched the infoboxes and templates. The only reason I have only edited porn stars/films so far is that, as I have already stated, they lack sources and information. Of course I will edit other pages with subjects I am knowledgable of. And I am not promoting any porn stars/films as I am not affiliated with them and so have no gain in promoting them. I am sorry I have caused inconvenience and will try to follow your advice in the future. teammathi 20:41, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

Lana Del Rey
You have made an entry on both her page and the Born to Die page referring to a worldwide tour in 2011. Do you mean 2012 ? RGCorris (talk) 17:07, 19 June 2012 (UTC)
- No, the tour started in 2011. teammathi 19:16, 19 June 2012 (CET)
- The 2011 dates were hardly in support of "Born to Die", given that it was not released until 2012. Besides, most definitions of "tour" suggest a fairly continuous series of dates, as took place in November 2011 and as planned for June-July 2012. Treating these dates, and the occasional interim gigs, as a single tour seems inaccurate. RGCorris (talk) 08:48, 20 June 2012 (UTC)
- But she was singing the same song as she is now, she was promoting her upcoming album. [User:teammathi|teammathi]] 12:39, 20 June 2012 (CET)
- I recall bands going on tour supporting their new studio album, making a live recording on the tour, and then touring the following year playing the same songs in support of their live album. I still contend that to be recognised as a "tour" the dates need to be fairly continuous, which is not the case here. Are the supporting musicians the same throughout, and if so, should they be included on the tour page ? RGCorris (talk) 14:38, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Blue Slide Park Tour
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Blue Slide Park Tour requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Close paraphrasing
Hi. I'm afraid the James Deen article you contributed to has parts which are very closely paraphrased from GQ. This problem was pointed out by an anonymous contributor at the copyright problems board. This can be a problem under both our copyright policies and our guideline on plagiarism.
While facts are not copyrightable, creative elements of presentation – including both structure and language – are. For examples of close paraphrasing, consider the following:
The source says:
- He had some drug escapades in junior high. He spent a couple of years in outpatient rehab.

As a website that is widely read and reused, Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously to protect the interests of the holders of copyright as well as those of the Wikimedia Foundation and our reusers. Wikipedia's copyright policies require that the content we take from non-free sources, aside from brief and clearly marked quotations, be rewritten from scratch. So that we can be sure it does not constitute a derivative work, this article should be revised to separate it further from its source. You cannot remove a cited statement that someone is bisexual simply on the basis that a lot of porn actresses say they are. I have found surprisingly few female porn actresses claiming to be bisexual, and simply because someone is a porn actress doesn't mean that they are lying. The information is relevant to her public life and it should be kept in. Asarelah (talk) 01:10, 7 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Supreme Logo.gif. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Deletion discussion about Cola (song)
Hello, Teammathi,
I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether Cola (song) should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cola (song) .
If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

— ΛΧΣ21™ 04:08, 26 October 2012 (UTC)Hello, Teammathi. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Pandas Gone Wild! Tour, for deletion because I don't think it meets our criteria for inclusion. If you don't want the article deleted:
- edit the page
- remove the text that looks like this:
{{proposed deletion/dated...}}
- save the page
Also, be sure to explain why you think the article should be kept in your edit summary or on the article's talk page. If you don't do so, it may be deleted later anyway.

File source problem with File:Lana Del Rey Blue Velvet Cover.jpeg
Thank you for uploading File:Lana Del Rey Blue Velvet Cover.jpeg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 20:27, 6 November 2012 (UTC)
Ride for GA
Guess you already noticed, but I nominated Ride (Lana Del Rey song) for good article. I planned on approaching you and asking if you wanted to help me clean up the article when it's eventually reviewed. I want to re-nominated Video Games (song), since it's one of our better Del Rey articles, but the quotations are still an issue. Those quotes prevented it from being promoted the first time around. As it stands, the sections on "Music and lyrics", "Critical reception", and "Music video" are quote farms. All we need to do is paraphrase two or three sentences per section, and we could certainly get this article up to snuff. I recently helped promote "This Is What Rock n' Roll Looks Like", to GA status, after having created it myself a year ago, so now I'm excited to get some of my other faves articles updated. :) --Thevampireashlee (talk) 16:39, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
- Cool. I noticed that "Video Games" is also missing a source for either the Canadian or Japanese Hot 100, so we'll need to fix that also. But, slightly off topic, I've been thinking about possibly starting a Lana Del Rey WikiProject. Not sure how many people would be interested in contributing to it, but at least all of her articles would be in one place. --Thevampireashlee (talk) 17:48, 9 November 2012 (UTC)
Cola
Hey there! I realized that you removed the Irish chart for Cola (song). Looking at the link, it appears the chart has been updated. Just yesterday, when I edited the article, the website verified the chart position of 99. The other edit of Lana Del Rey discography, Harout72 looked at the source and saw it too. I realized this is still not verifiable whatsoever, but the position exists. Do you know where we can view archives of the chart? GFK only displays them up to the 50 mark. While IRMA displays them up to 100, but their most recent chart archives are from 2008. Any suggestions? --Thevampireashlee (talk) 03:56, 25 November 2012 (UTC)
- It's okay. We'll figure something out. Either way, I would greatly appreciate your opinion on another Lana Del Rey matter over here. Thanks! :) --Thevampireashlee (talk) 22:29, 25 November 2012 (UTC)

Lana Del Rey
Hi Teammathi. About this edit here that you reverted, is there any difference between a "singer-songwriter" and "singer" and "songwriter" for the lead in music biographies? Isn't the term "singer-songwriter" usually associated with folk and acoustic musicians? TheOnlyOne12 (talk) 02:23, 6 December 2012 (UTC)

The article Excellent Adventure Tour has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
