Speedy deletion nomination of Arundhati Nair
If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Arundhati Nair requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Zoodino (talk) 06:39, 24 June 2020 (UTC)

Parentheticals and oversimplification of details that could be explained in plain English
Hey there, re: this, I have to ask you to please avoid parentheticals, slashes, or other forms of shorthand content. Indian articles in particular, are often victims of an over-simplification of information delivery, which results in major problems with ambiguity and lack of clarity, and the result is that we're just not doing all we can to educate our global readership about Indian subjects. It's not just with parentheses, I have been logging these problems for years, which you can read about at User:Cyphoidbomb/Campaign of Ignorance. I call it that, because it seems that many, many casual users (I'm not talking about you) go out of their way to delete content that is written in clear English prose, preferring to chop and slash all clear content to present tiny, confusing bits of random information that could be interpreted different ways, and the result is that the articles these people edit wind up being less intelligible than before they edited. That's not what an encyclopedia should be about.
If you don't want to read that entire document, I don't blame you, but at least please search for the word "parenthetical" and read that, and please also read the bullet point on Nicknames, which has also been a big pain in the arse recently.
As it pertains to "Astrologer (Josiyar)" that is confusing for a few reasons. Usually we only capitalise an occupation if a person was credited as "Astrologer" or "Police Officer #1". Seeing a capitalised "Astrologer" leads a reader into thinking this was the credited name. "(Josiyar)", then becomes a bit of a mystery. Is this a nickname? Is this a gang the person is part of? Is this their astrological sign? Does this mean something else that hasn't been explained? Maybe it's clear to you if you saw the film, but to someone who has never seen it, I have no idea what it means, and our target audience is always people who have never seen/read/heard of the subject we are discussing. If the person had a credited name, or their name was mentioned in the movie, then I think "...as astrologer Josiyar" is the more intuitive way to write it.
Thanks for listening, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:19, 15 July 2020 (UTC)
- Re: this, what about "...as a josiyar (transl. astrologer)"? There are times when a parenthetical is warranted, but those times are rare, like perhaps this. If you're fine with "astrologer", then I have no quarrel, but if you want to add the Tamil content, I don't have a problem, so long as we explain things for the English readers. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:49, 15 July 2020 (UTC)

The article Ashwini Puneeth Rajkumar has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Almost all the sources are passing mentions and the subject has only co-produced a few films for their home production. No significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject. Fails WP:GNG and WP:CREATIVE and there is no evidence of independent notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}

Draft:Ajith Kumar's unrealized projects
Hi - hope all is well. Just letting you know that I feel 'Draft:Ajith Kumar's unrealized projects' probably shouldn't be created. It doesn't quite reflect what the theme of the page is for - and I fear it will set bad precedent.
Almost of all of these projects were eventually realised with other actors, and Ajith is neither a film writer (or creative head) to be in charge of these projects. The information belongs on the film page articles themselves. Some of these projects are just alternate titles eg. Thiruda, some films are rumours like Rettai Thala, and some are purely a figment of fans' imagination like Kangeyan. In contrast, for Kamal (who has had a career spanning 7 decades) - most of those films were never made despite significant development in production.
If we're looking to expand this Category:Lists of unrealized projects by artist - perhaps some one like K. Balachander would be a good bet. Also need to take down nonsense like this one.

1234 Shille Hodi
Hi, I noticed you have deleted all the content in 1234 Shille Hodi tagging it as "not notable." Since it has also a page on other three Wikipedias, I would rather start a discussion before deleting everything. Best regards and thanks in advance.--Carnby (talk) 18:26, 2 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Carnby: The threshold for inclusion at this Wikipedia is not how many times it exists on other Wikipedias. The threshold for whether or not any article should exist here, is if it meets our notability criteria, in this case, WP:GNG and WP:NSONG. Regards, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 23:26, 5 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Cyphoidbomb: I do not question it, I only asked for a normal deletion request since the page was deleted and redirected to the film it was written for. Anyway I do not know the song, I can't say it's relevant or not. I was asked for a screenshot and did it.--Carnby (talk) 07:29, 6 August 2020 (UTC)
Recent deletion requests
Hi - just wondering: 1) Why you deleted pages like Pasanga Sivakumar and Vazhakku En Muthuraman etc? 2) Also why did you remove sources and place articles like Neerthirai (with established cast members) up for deletion? - I don't see many good sources at all on pages you're proud of Oru Nodiyil and Ka Ka Ka: Aabathin Arikuri...am I missing something? Neutral Fan (talk) 20:24, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
- @Neutral Fan: I am still in the process of deleting articles that I created because they are not notable. Akin to Kaalaippani, notable cast doesn't mean the films are notable. Introduce another review of Neerthirai and a deletion can be averted.TamilMirchi (talk) 20:28, 4 August 2020 (UTC)
