Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Chinni Jayanth, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Vikram and Anand (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Hello there. This is an invitation to join the 50,000 Destubbing Challenge Focus of the Week. £250 (c. $310) is being given away in May, June and July with £20 worth of prizes to give away every week for most articles destubbed. Each week there is a different region of focus, including one week dedicated to South-South East Asia, which includes India, though half the prize will still be rewarded for articles on any subject. There's a potential £120 to be won in total for expanding stubs on Indian films, actors and directors etc and articles may be submitted both for the Indian cinema challenge and the destubbing one. Information icon Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you tried to give a page a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Gang Leader (2019 film). This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. Thank you. — JJMC89(T·C) 19:21, 3 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

A plate of Khichdi for you
Here is one plate of khichdi for you. Khichdi is an Indian comfort food made from rice and lentils and was the inspiration for the Anglo-Indian dish kedgeree. Khichdi is also thought to be the inspiration for the popular Egyptian dish, Kushari.
Thank you.

Starring = lead roles

[edit]

Hi there re: this, please refrain from using repetitive language like "The film stars X, Y, Z, in the lead roles". "Stars" across the board, typically means actors who are the leads, i.e. the film's brightest, flickering attraction. "Starring" does not mean "appeared in", so there is no need to further differentiate that someone who "starred" in a film is in "the lead roles". This sort of repetitious language seems common in Indian film and television articles and it just makes the project look ignorant. Occasionally someone might receive a star billing without being a major player in a film, in which case that might require other language that provides context. Thanks. Andhadhi (film) moved to draftspace

Bigil

[edit]

Hi there, re: this, wikilinking to a different film doesn't make any sense to me. If the character name of "John" (a very common name) is a reference to a different film, that should be explained, with sources, in the cast section. Ex: "Saravanan's character John was based on Arya's character from the 2013 film Raja Rani." A link with no context doesn't help a reader understand why we've included a link. We should always err on the side of explanation rather than links. Wikilinks should only be used to give a reader more information about a subject they may not know about. Additionally, I hope you are checking intermediate edits at pages that you edit at. There have been several disruptive edits to Bigil since you last edited, including this one that occurred just before your change. If you're not checking the quality of articles, and then you edit on top of it, it is very difficult to clean up, and you might wind up with your edits being reverted as a casualty of vandalism cleanup. Nine references?

[edit]

Hey there, re: these edits, is there a reason why you think we need 9 references to support uncontroversial information like their name and that they are Indian, and that they work in Malayalam cinema? To me, that's citation overkill. Would you mind dialing that back to 2 or 3? Just to put things in perspective, this is often a tactic that marketing teams use to quickly make it seem that an article subject is more important than they are. I'm not saying that's what you're doing, I'm just pointing out that this sort of over-referencing can look like promotion, and could potentially result in a subject's article being more heavily scrutinised as potentially promotional. TL;DR: It's not really helping. Thanks, Cyphoidbomb (talk) 00:46, 24 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

@Cyphoidbomb: Just added them for future expansion. I have changed them now. --TamilMirchi
