Women in Green GA Editathon June 2024 - Going Back in Time

Hello TJMSmith:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in June 2024!

Running from June 1 to 30, 2024, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Going Back in Time! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 20 centuries by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!

Kathleen Hicks

Hi TJMSmith, last week I tagged you in a comment on the Hicks Talk page, asking if you'd be willing to look at a follow-up request. I realize you were offline for most of the week, and may not have seen it. If you're willing to consider this or other edit requests, it would be great to have someone knowledgeable such as yourself involved. However if that was a one-off and you'd prefer to move on, I will totally understand. Thanks, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 18:49, 20 May 2024 (UTC)

Done. TJMSmith (talk) 19:51, 20 May 2024 (UTC)
Thanks, I really appreciate it. I've just posted another request on the Hicks talk page, in case you are willing to continue reviewing content. Best, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 16:48, 21 May 2024 (UTC)
I really appreciate you working ahead to review the additional content changes I had planned. I have one last request, posted a moment ago, hope you can review when you have a moment. Thanks, WWB Too (Talk · COI) 19:25, 24 May 2024 (UTC)

Ways to improve Cooke Maroney

Hello, TJMSmith,

Thank you for creating Cooke Maroney.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

The direct quotes from The Cut do not appear consistent with NPOV and should be restated without the quotes and by removing the jargon, opinions, exaggerations, and any claims that are not represented fairly and proportionately.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|FULBERT}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

A tag has been placed on File:Amalija Knavs.png requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free file from a commercial source (e.g. Associated Press, Getty Images), where the file itself is not the subject of sourced commentary. If you can explain why the file can be used under the non-free content guidelines, please add the appropriate non-free use tag and rationale.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. -- Marchjuly (talk) 19:48, 11 August 2024 (UTC)

Helmi Arneberg-Pentti

Hi, thanks so much for trying to find a photo of Helmi Arneberg-Pentti but unfortunately the cropped image isn't her but Mrs. Wennberg, the woman sitting next to her, photo left. Helmi Arneberg-Pentti has her hair pulled back in a smooth bun. The woman to the right of H A-P is Tyra Wadner. The photo caption failed to name the woman furthest left in the second row, hence the lack of clarity. Her image is on cover of a book about her if it helps to identify her in the crowd https://www.antikvaari.fi/teos/helmi-arneberg-pentti-lotta-svardin-rakentajana-19/62a39710eaa1ec176c41340d MumphingSquirrel (talk) 07:39, 19 August 2024 (UTC)

My mistake! I'll request to rename that other photo to Mrs. Wennberg and try to do a new crop of Arneberg-Pentti. TJMSmith (talk) 05:47, 22 August 2024 (UTC)
Great, thanks for sorting that out, really appreciate the speed of response. MumphingSquirrel (talk) 17:49, 22 August 2024 (UTC)

Invitation to participate in a research

Hello,

The Wikimedia Foundation is conducting a survey of Wikipedians to better understand what draws administrators to contribute to Wikipedia, and what affects administrator retention. We will use this research to improve experiences for Wikipedians, and address common problems and needs. We have identified you as a good candidate for this research, and would greatly appreciate your participation in this anonymous survey.

You do not have to be an Administrator to participate.

The survey should take around 10-15 minutes to complete. You may read more about the study on its Meta page and view its privacy statement .

Please find our contact on the project Meta page if you have any questions or concerns.

Kind Regards,

WMF Research Team

The article Averie Bishop has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Candidates of this nature on not notable.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. R. G. My attempts to edit the article on Harrison Ruffin Tyler

You recently reverted a very minor edit that I made to the article on John Tyler's surviving grandson and left a condescending comment on my talk page accusing me of making "non-constructive" edits and telling me to review policies and to play in my sandbox. My edits are intended to be useful to general readers who have come to Wikipedia because they know of HRT as one of TWO grandsons of John Tyler who survived into the 21st century. Surely there must be some way that I can do this that will pass your stringent judgement?
