WMATA Bus fleet info

[edit]

Hello. Just so that the Metrobus fleet articles does not get excessively detailed about counterparts of each buses, shouldn’t this edit here that I recently reverted belong to the CPTDB wiki. I see that Doctor of Directions added back the counterparts and other history of the buses back in the wiki article, and just so that neither the two of us argue again with the three other editors about sources and details, I think that his edit should go to the CPTDB wiki. I am notifying this since you have access to CPTDB wiki. It may be somewhat hard, but it’s worth a try, especially for WMATA’s 2001-2002 New Flyer C40LF articles (despite that it is split into three), WMATA’s 2000 Orión VIs, and the late 1990s Orions. If you can move them to CPTDB, it can be easier, and we can let the user know that all his contributions is sent there, so those info does not have to be removed. Thank you. Leobran2018 (talk) 12:29, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I think that will do for now. Probably the CPTDB editors may rearrange all the information, and can organize this information. Thank you. Leobran2018 (talk) 14:01, 8 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]

WMATA 2021 Bus fleet and other updates

[edit]

Happy New Year/2021. As last year was the end of the Orion VII CNGs (40 footers as I rode them most of the time throughout the entire service life), I may wonder if WMATA will order more CNG Xcelsiors for the remainder of their contract, as this year they are having only XD40s and XD60s. And also, since the New Flyer Low Floors (Original and Restyled models) are the oldest, I may also wonder if they will retire the Hybrids first, or the D40LFR. I'm guessing that 6031 might be retired and won't return, not sure on how damaged it is. Those are the questions for WMATA I have. For other updates here in Virginia Transit, there is a major roster change, with all ARBOC buses of Arlington Transit retired exactly one year ago after the arrival of the XN35 on 12/30/19 (CPTDB says it is still active, but I heard that they were stored, and sent off property last summer). No word if any upcoming order for ART yet. That's all I have. Happy editing on 2021. Leobran2018 (talk) 01:27, 2 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: I discovered a new tweak, that if a unit bus number for WMATA is entered under 1001 (the 2016 XE40), it can track DASH Alexandria Transit Company's routes and unit numbers, despite that WMATA does not operate DASH. This is on the transsee.ca tracker, however, it is also found on the official WMATA tracker on Alexandria WMATA stations. Also, I saw many XN40s on Shirlington Station since 3333 entered in service as Shirlington is the second largest transit bus hub in Northern Virginia, ahead of Ballston but behind Pentagon.

WMATA/FFC TAGS routes

[edit]

I was surprised that WMATA decided to send 6 Orion VII EPA10 BRTs to Fairfax Connector following TAGS was transferred. I thought that WMATA would repaint them back to the local livery, and Fairfax Connector to use the Orion VII NG. Oh well. Leobran2018 (talk) 18:13, 26 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hello. I found a link where each WMATA buses are precisely retired. It is the auction page of WMATA, however, the majority is through lots. With this link, it can keep up to date on which unit is officially written off.([1] ) WMATA and Arlington Transit uses govdeals.com, while Alexandria's DASH and Fairfax Connector uses Public Surplus. I'm not sure which ones does Ride On and TheBus uses, probably govdeals as well. Leobran2018 (talk) 02:06, 23 February 2021 (UTC) (Updated on 01:45, 24 February 2021 (UTC))[reply]

P.S.: This can avoid confusion between stored units.

Retirement of the NABI 60-BRT CNGs and other stuff

[edit]

Hello. I noticed on CPTDB that there is a duplicate word, and since I saw it in the article, I removed it on this edit. Also, just for curiosity, do you have any more pictures for the WMATA Virginia routes? Many of them needs new pictures. Thanks. Leobran2018 (talk) 20:01, 12 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

WMATA 2022 Bus fleet and other updates

[edit]

I may be rarely here on Wikipedia, but I do have some updates on the Virginia fleet. I may picture back that early last year, I was asking on the new tics that WMATA ordered, but I suppose this year, nothing might change in the area, since the C40LFR are housed in DC, and the D40LFR are scattered in the system yet again. If I’m not mistaken, I suppose that WMATA will use those one last time for the Orange Line shuttle for the summer. Also, if 4600-4674 was the original bus order, do you think it might be possible that WMATA might picked up more buses to finish up its 6 year contract with New Flyer? I suppose all the agency might wait for is the XN40s and the electric buses. Those are the questions for WMATA I have. For other updates here in Virginia Transit, still no word if any upcoming order for ART yet, it might be more XNs, but I am seeing that it is possible that ART might retire all the ZF-transmission of the NABIs, not sure. Some of the 2010-11 NABI 31-LFW have some of its logos removed, I don’t know why. All I know from that batch is that 5066 did had a breakdown in 2018, don’t know if it keeps breaking down since then (like WMATA’s DE40LF/DE40LFR). For sure that the 35-LFW is the first ones to retire due to expiring CNG tanks. Also, I am seeing not many ART’s 40-LFW buses are active, as they’re changing the destination signs from Twinvision Chroma IV to Luminator Amber Smart Series III, to match the XN40s/XN35s. That's all I have. Happy editing on 2022. Leobran2018 (talk) 12:28, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Leobran2018 for WMATA. I don't actually know if WMATA will get any tics for Virginia yet as I have not heard any new orders for tics. I do got a feeling WMATA could bring out the C40LFRs and D40LFRs if the shuttles aren't contracted as well. As for the 2022 XD40 order, I do not know how much we have in total yet. I could assume its 4600-4699 but I won't add it until its confirmed probably and this may've replaced the XN40 order, but I don't want to assume anything until its confirmed.
For VA systems, I heard rumors of a potential ART order from an operator, but I don't know when it'd happen. I do know two 2008 NABIs are done, but this is also the first I've heard anything about the 2010-11 NABIs beginning retirement. All I can assume is more XN40s/XN35s will come over to replace a lot of the NABIs but like I said, I don't wanna assume anything until its confirm. Plus I haven't heard anything about the 40-LFWs getting new signs as well.
Everything I've said is just assumptions (except for the two NABIs being retired). I'll try and find more information about this soon. Happy editing. Swagging (talk) 12:54, 28 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
@Swagging I was able to get a few more updates from an ART operator (may be different than who you know), the reason why the 40-LFW are changing their destination sign is due to a proposal that they planned to overhaul their buses around this time period, so ART is overhauling the 40-LFW. I took 5092 picture in 2019, and I saw it running again recently with its new signs. The 2010-11 NABIs had its logos removed, but was confirmed that it will still be on the roads for now, but will keep in track on performance, depending if chooses to exercise their option orders to replace those buses. That's all I have on the updates. Leobran2018 (talk) 16:27, 4 May 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for creating many new articles. While they are generally good, one minor issue is that you have been writing section headings in title case, when they should be written in sentence case. See MOS:HEADCAPS for more info. Elliot321 (talk | contribs) 00:57, 11 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

2020 WMATA NF XN40s

[edit]

Hello. Do you know which divisions are the 2020 XN40s will be delivered, like if all in one or split? Asking as your recent edit shows that the 2020 XD40s recently entered in service. Also, if possible, I might capture some images for the newbies (due to the pandemic, it will most likely be in either the 7, 10B, 16, 22A, or 23 line (maybe the 4B) due to current world situation) alongside with Arlington Transit images (mostly either route 41, 45, 72, 75, 77, or 87) to add for both here and CPTDB. Thank you. Leobran2018 (talk) 02:17, 11 August 2020 (UTC) (UPDATED on 01:30, 23 August 2020 (UTC))[reply]

P.S.: Only one picture I uploaded is before the pandemic, on the ART 43, since CPTDB was missing some pictures.

Usually, I don’t use Facebook anymore since 2017, but thanks for the response about the XN40s. Hopefully I can catch them around my area, as WMATA service is starting to increase. Too bad that where I live, it will be nothing but Xcelsiors, but at least ART have its NABI buses (despite that it might retire soon, starting with the 2007 35-LFW, as its cutaways are all gone after New Years), and DASH Gillig Low Floor buses (since the AT9 serves one transit hub to connect WMATA and ART buses). I mean when all the older buses before 2005 retires. But thanks anyways. I’ll take some pics when I have spare time for the CPTDB wiki and some WMATA routes that is based on Four Mile Run division. 2020 WMATA XN40s at Four Mile Run Garage

[edit]

Hello. I was just wondering, as the 2020 XN40s phases in Northern Virginia, will the D40LFR be shifted back to a different garage, as Four Mile Run is mainly a CNG garage? Just wondering as the 2900 Series XN40s are being sent back to Bladensburg (except Metroway 2981-2993, and hopefully not the C40LFR, just so Virginia doesn’t only have Xcelsiors). Thank you. Leobran2018 (talk) 04:00, 8 November 2020 (UTC)[reply]

P.S.: I’ll keep on track on which routes each one will be in, and since Shirlington Station is the closest, I probably grab some pictures to update the existing route articles that have older or no pictures.

A beer for you!

WMATA 2020 XD60

WMATA 2021 XD60

[edit]

Hello. Quick question: Apparently 5500-5509 are 2020 XD60s. Is it possible that WMATA accepted delivery on the 2021 models earlier this year, with the numbers 5510-5541, as some of them are active? Also, with these addition, is it for expansion, or could it accelerate the retirement of the 2009 DE60LFA? Thanks. Leobran2018 (talk) 22:11, 15 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. Units 5510-5541 were confirmed to have M VINs (2021). Seems that it is the end of the line for the NABI 60 BRTs. Although, does routes in Montgomery Division have a high ridership? Thanks. Leobran2018 (talk) 13:08, 16 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ben DiNucci

[edit]

Hello, I don't understand why you deleted the text in the Ben Dinucci article when it was referenced ?.Tecmo (talk) 16:00, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The part saying "It was also a waste of a good defensive performance, as the Cowboys caused four Eagles' turnovers. Dinucci was later demoted to third-string on the depth chart behind Garrett Gilbert" was unsourced while "In the game DiNucci was clearly overwhelmed, finishing 21-of-40 for 180 yards, two fumbles (including one returned for a 53-yard touchdown) and was sacked 4 times, as the Cowboys lost 23-9 and failed to score a touchdown in back-to-back games, just for the fourth time in franchise history" was just trivia which fails under Wikipedia standards. However that paragraph can be written like this:

"In the game, DiNucci completed 21-of-40 passes for 180 yards, and lost two fumbles (including one returned for a 53-yard touchdown) and was sacked 4 times, as the Cowboys lost 23-9."

You do not need much trivia for this unless its notable from my past experiences. Swagging (talk) 16:08, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If that was the isue, it is solved at this time.Tecmo (talk) 16:19, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Then what is the issue?
The reason I reverted it at first because it was all trivia and unsourced which also reverted a lot of the other edits that were helpful for the article. Refer to WP:HTRIVIA for this. Swagging (talk) 16:30, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
If you are talking about a 61 year old franchise and a situation that has only ocurred twice in its history, it is not trivia, it is notable. The unsourced material that you mentioned is now sourced.Tecmo (talk) 16:34, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
You again reverted all of the text even the sourced one. So what is the real issue ?. You are taking out useful information.Tecmo (talk) 16:37, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]
The useful information falls under WP:HTRIVIA like I said and it does not meet the criteria. Swagging (talk) 16:52, 20 June 2021 (UTC)[reply]

2021–22 Phoenix Suns season moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, 2021–22 Phoenix Suns season, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Henry Ruggs III fatal car accident

[edit]

I saw that the section about the car accident. It says he rear ended a Toyota Rav4. However he crashed into a Toyota prius. The crime scene pictures clearly show a prius. That's the reason the car burst into flames. The lithium batteries are in the rear of the vehicle of a prius. JohnnyHighRise (talk) 18:50, 10 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

First off, if a player were to get traded to a team, both teams WOULD NEED TO announce it first. It'd be the same thing with free agent signings, the team will need to announce it. From reporters, those are just reports and are unconfirmed. As for the NFL Draft, I did not see the Cardinals announce the trade on the website when I revert the edit. Metro to implement five station name changes Sept. 11
It states:
"Beginning Sept. 11, Metro will implement five station name changes on signage and maps across the system as requested by local jurisdictions and approved by the Metro Board of Directors. Customers will see immediate changes on digital maps throughout rail stations and on bus displays as well as on wmata.com, Trip Planner, and Next Arrivals. Destination signs on Metrobuses and announcements also will recognize new station names. NFL player performances

[edit]

Specifically what triggered this was your edit at Patrick Mahomes. Please only add notable performances to player articles and only what part of the performance was notable. In the case of Mahomes, only his touchdown count and QB rating were notable, not his yards, attempts, or completions. Adding full stat lines and adding them week over week makes articles unnecessarily long. For quarterbacks, for example, I would try to stick to career highs, an usually bad game for a good player (like Mahomes only throwing for like 150 yards and several interceptions), 400+ yard games, 4+ TD games, QB ratings over like 140 (because these are all uncommon). Only time it is ok for a full stat line is if a quarterback has a perfect QB rating.--Rockchalk717 16:55, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Rockchalk717 I understand. I don't usually put the full stat line though, only the yardage and TD/INT counts I only put. Swagging (talk) 17:13, 12 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Cousins Curse

You described the Cousins Curse and how the teams that he beat not making a Super Bowl as coincidental. I think that is exactly what a curse is. Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:49, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
