In case you aren't aware, for flickr uploads you can use Commons:User:Flickr upload bot. That checks the license before the upload and the bot uploads the image directly; if the same file name exists, you're warned about that too. cheers. —SpacemanSpiff 06:27, 8 September 2011 (UTC)

Extensive copying
Hello Surajt88, I contacted you a month ago about copyright concerns with your editing. As I recall, I and others asked you at the time to review your past edits to wither identify and fix problem or ask questions where you're not sure. At the time you seemed willing to do this.
I have reviewed more of your edit history and identified 3 more articles to which you substantially conributed which contained copied text. The articles were from your eariler edit history, I didn't check for specific diffs to be sure it was your edit, you might have missed them on your review, so I checked up on what other articles you'd fixed up after you said you would. What I see is that you worked on the articles specifically mentioned by other reviewers, but you made no changes to any of your past edits.
I'm going to ask again that you stop your other editing activities and focus on reviewing your past edits. I thought by this point that I would be reviewing your fixes, not just doing more cleanup. Perhaps you could set up a sub-page to keep track of your progress. This needs to be addressed as a priority. Regards! Franamax (talk) 07:16, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'm still willing to do it. I dint put it as my top priority. I'll start with it right now and resume my other editing activities after I've made sure all my contributions are in order. Thanks. Suraj T 08:47, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- Thanks for setting up the subpage. I've reviewed some more articles and made lots of minor changes which I hope are helpful. It looks like you live in a beautiful area of your country, and you write about an interesting range of topics. One note I have is that when you directly copy text from US government sources, it is generally perfectly OK to do that, but with 2 considerations: you need to check for "dual contributions" where, say, a non-government photographer took photos from a NOAA airplane (not a problem for your edits, just a note); and when you directly copy public domain text, you need to attribute it so that readers will know it is not your own work. For the "unidentified sound" articles I added the {{citation-attribution}} wrapper template around your {{cite}} templates in the references, which makes the copying acceptable from our standpoint. Regards! Franamax (talk) 21:45, 16 September 2011 (UTC)
- I'll follow your suggestion regarding directly copying text from US government sources. I've cleared 11 articles here. Will clear the others soon. Suraj T 07:20, 21 September 2011 (UTC)
