Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. [1][2] GermanJoe (talk) 10:44, 1 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding inappropriate external links to Wikipedia. It is considered spamming and Wikipedia is not a vehicle for advertising or promotion. Because Wikipedia uses nofollow tags, additions of links to Wikipedia will not alter search engine rankings. If you continue spamming, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. Please see also my user talkpage regarding your question for more info about this issue. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 19:18, 3 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

July 2019: What is a Sockpuppet?

[edit]

Hello, Sonakshi Rastogi, welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. Your editing pattern indicates that you may be using multiple accounts or coordinating editing with people outside Wikipedia. Our policy on multiple accounts usually does not allow this, and users who use multiple accounts may be blocked from editing. If you operate multiple accounts directly or with the help of another person, please disclose these connections. Thank you. And Sonakshi Rastogi as well.--Quisqualis (talk) 23:23, 4 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit to the page Indian passport, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk.

Indian English does not use American spelling. bonadea contributions talk 07:30, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Stop icon You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you insert a spam link, as you did at Indian passport. Persistent spammers may have their websites blacklisted, preventing anyone from linking to them from all Wikimedia sites as well as potentially being penalized by search engines. bonadea contributions talk 10:58, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Sir,

I am not doing any Spam. It's just that I found maybe my article will be useful to the readers as they will get more information after reading that.

That's why I have added that link. I have seen there are many irrelevant links added their and many of us who don't have such high authority site, they don't have any right to do that??

Can you please guide me about spam??

Please suggest me something about how to add some relevant information and citation. As I am new here. Don't know much about this. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sukriti maurya (talkcontribs) 11:23, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

You received advice on external links here, here, and here. Please read it, as well as the information linked above. Yes, many people view Wikipedia as a link repository or free marketing opportunity, so there are many inappropriate links already present. That does not mean that it is acceptable to add more such links. Do not add any links to sites that you are affiliated with, and don't add references that don't support the information in the article. Here you added a reference next to a sentence that was already sourced (by the reference further down), and the ref you added did not in fact support any of the information in the text - that is why it was removed as reference spam. --bonadea contributions talk 13:13, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
