Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Subasishdas7. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Dominique Lord, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for article subjects for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template)—don't forget to give details of reliable sources supporting your suggestions;
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicizing, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. C F A 💬 22:21, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
- I don't have an external relation with D. Lord which will provoke me to create a wiki entry on him. He is the top contributor in crash count data modeling [1st in traffic operations and 4th in traffic safety (according to Google Scholar rankings)]. There are entries of top transportation researcher such as Fred Mannering (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Fred_Mannering). There should be an entry on D. Lord too. Junior scholars like Khandker Nurul Habib (https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Khandker_Nurul_Habib) has wiki entries. In transportation field, it is very important to put the top legends in wikipedia. It will help to the future researchers to know about them and their contibution. Subasishdas7 (talk) 23:16, 27 August 2024 (UTC)
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Subasishdas7, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you created or edited appears to be an article about yourself. Writing about yourself is a common mistake made by new Wikipedians.
As this is an encyclopedia, we wouldn't expect to have an article about every contributor. We require individuals to meet Wikipedia's definition of a notable person to accept articles about them. A page you created about yourself may well be deleted from the encyclopedia. If it is deleted and you wish to retrieve its contents, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
If your contributions to an existing article about yourself are undone and you wish to add to or change it, please propose the changes on its talk page.
