Torch Browser

Torch Browser is a Chromium based web browser and Internet suite developed by Torch Media [1]. The browser handles common Internet-related tasks such as displaying websites, sharing websites via social networks, downloading torrents, accelerating downloads, and grabbing online media - all directly from the browser.[2] Torch Browser is offered free of charge for personal computers. Features include built-in media grabber, easy sharing options, download acceleration options, and an integrated download manager.

Torch Browser

About Torch is based on the Chromium source code [3], an open-source browser project that aims to build a safer, faster, and more stable way for all users to experience the web.[4]. Torch's most recent version (V1705) uses Chromium version 17.

Features

Torch includes the following built-in features:

  • Built-in Torrent Manager - allows users to download torrent files to their desktop, directly from the Browser, without the need to install 3rd party torrent clients.[5]
  • Media Grabber - Torch lets users save video and audio files from any site. Torch's media grabber is integrated into the browser and supports a broad range of file types, so once users find a web video or audio they want to save, they can grab and save it without having to use external programs, converters or extensions.[6]
  • Easy Sharing - Users can share sites, videos, audio and search results with their friends on Facebook and their followers on Twitter.[7]

Languages

Torch is currently available in 7 languages: English, French, Spanish, Turkish, Italian, Portuguese, and German.

Company

Torch Media is a Cyprus based company, but appears to be developed in Belarus.[8]
