A tag has been placed on File:Wendell Mobley, personal photo, 2005.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted images or text borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, thanks for message. I deleted your article and image because

  • The article was a copyright violation. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. The musicbrainz website does not have such a disclaimer. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
  • The image was a copyright violation. Copyrighted images are not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. The copied image was marked Facebook © 2015 There are ways to donate copyrighted images to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the image, isn't sufficient.
  • The article did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that he meets the notability guidelines. (It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs and websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what he claims or interviewing his management.
  • You have an obvious conflict of interest when it comes to editing articles about this subject. Thank you for declaring your interest. If, after reading the information about notability linked above, you still believe that your organisation is notable enough for a Wikipedia article (and that there is significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary sources), you could, if you wish, post a request at Wikipedia:Requested articles for the article to be created. See also Wikipedia:Best practices for editors with conflicts of interest.

I have restored the previous version of this article. Please understand that Wikipedia is not a social-networking site where people write about themselves and their friends and family. From Wikipedia's point of view, as Wendell Mobley's brother you have a Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and should read that guideline and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide. In brief, don't edit the article directly, but make suggestions on its talk page at Talk:Wendell Mobley for uninvolved users to consider, citing reliable published sources for the facts you wish to add.

There is advice at WP:Biographies of living persons/Help for people connected to the subjects of biographical article. Regards, JohnCD (talk) 14:22, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]
