Thanks!

Thanks for the nice words about the museum work. Although learning about all the museums was the true reward, it's nice when other people recognize it as well. dm (talk) 04:30, 15 January 2010 (UTC)

Whew

Watch out, AL East. Be very afraid... Keeper | 76 04:15, 22 March 2010 (UTC)

Congrats on a team doing the right thing to keep the home town. I still don't want Carl Crawford in NY next yr. Cannot wait for baseball StarM 21:41, 28 March 2010 (UTC)
I'm so excited. So close, I feel like crying. I'm so tired of basketball...Keeper | 76 03:22, 31 March 2010 (UTC)
Ditto ditto ditto! I can't even pretend to like basketball at the best of times. Happy Easter/Passover, if you celebrate either. StarM 23:42, 2 April 2010 (UTC)
I'm an Easter kind of guy, planning on relaxing w/ the fam this weekend. I got to go to the first Twins game last minute yesterday, witnessed the opening (exhibition) game. Lost the game, but it didn't count anyway, and I spent most of the later innings "exploring" my new favorite place. Target Field is an absolute must-see for baseball fans, you need to find an excuse to get out there this summer. It was unspeakably special to be at the "first". Such a shiny new stadium - no beer stains on the concrete, not a scratch on any seat, new car smell. For a "small market team", (heh, yeah right...), we are in damn fine digs. Keeper | 76 02:59, 4 April 2010 (UTC)

Sounds like a lot of fun. I know what you mean re: the new car smell. I went to the Yankees/Cubs series last year and it was great. Fox dillweeds while talking all over the almost no-hitter were also talking about how well the Twinkies are doing and historically how new-stadium teams have done well. Curiously, they didn't mention the Muts. I'll think about a game - but it will be odd when they first play not to see the big baggies. Now poeple are saying the Yanks will target Crawford, so not interested StarM 00:16, 11 April 2010 (UTC)

Dear StarM,

what the hell is sockpuppetry and why have I been accused of it? Could you please reply to my email: schweinhund@hotmail.co.uk because I've no idea how these talk pages work.

nah just trying to stay litter free. Oddly, I never got the suggestions when I was active. I have no interest here any more. Look at my contribs. It's all chatfilter. How's all with you? StarM 02:31, 6 July 2010 (UTC)

go on holiday for 10 days - that helps. :) StarM 20:19, 11 July 2010 (UTC)

May the best team win!

And by best team, I of course mean the Twins. Here's my predictions: Twins over Yanks in 4, Rays over Rangers in 5. Then, Twins in 6. For the NL: Braves over SF in 3, Phillies over Cinci in 4. Then, Braves in 7. World Series: Twins in 5 over Braves. Booya. Save the link :-) Keeper | 76 19:34, 4 October 2010 (UTC)

We're similar in our predictions. I haven't decided whether NYY or Twins will win. Rangers > Rays, then Rangers to the WS. Atlanta takes the NL, wins the series in 6. Do me a favorite and light a fire under Purple Jesus on Monday? Jets fans need to eat it StarM 17:22, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
Purple Jesus got someone to actually throw the ball to today. I'm not a huge Moss fan (was frankly glad to see the drama-magnet go), but he's a helluva velcro-handed receiver when he puts even 10% effort into his gameplay. He has always exceeded expectations on Monday night games, so the Jets should be very afraid. Keeper | 76 19:50, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
Drama magnet indeed. Crazy trade. Don't get it at all from Pats POV. I think we know now whether Rice will be coming back. And Berrian can grow splinters. Fantast league wise, I <3 this. Double coverage on Moss/Harvin - Shiancoe WIDE OPEN. Please? This week I am a huge Vikings fan. And I don't think there's baseball Monday even with Game 5 StarM 04:32, 8 October 2010 (UTC)
And the silliest part about all of this trade (and I agree, I have no idea what Belly-check was thinking), is that you didn't even mention Adrian Peterson in the list of people that benefit from having a future hall of famer going deep on every play. Forget Shiancoe, (most defenses do already), Peterson is gonna explode. ........... Notice how I'm talking football during baseball season? I need a therapist, or at least a stiff drink. Your yanks have once again shattered my heart. I absolutely detest them yankees, Star. Can't even watch the post game interviews, they are all so smug, and ugly, and probably hate their own grandmothers. (just flailing here). I don't understand how those stripes got so burrowed in the Twinks heads. It's a total head game, and the twins aren't like that with any other team, I don't get it. It drives me crazy, abslutely crazy, to watch the twins slink and cower around the field, expecting to lose. The Twins are a far superior team then the Yankees this year. They are not the underdog (they have definitely been the u-dog in past matchups). Pettitte? Seriously? He's 55 years old and has been throwing like shit. The Twins have beat CC many times when he was cleveland, but now we just stand there and shake at the plate? So heartbreaking. Keeper | 76 15:39, 8 October 2010 (UTC)

They did. I think it really is a mind game with the Twins and Yankees. Like they know they've never come from behind so why bother trying? Game 1 was the best but they didn't even show up today until the 8th and that made me sweat. Sad. also watching Twinkies in the last of the 9th. No excitement, no hope. They'd folded it. Sad. Good April - September team but for some reason jhust don't turn it (back) on in October. So much was made of Kubel's slam off Mo, but one pitch tonight and he's done. Andy is magic in the post season. He could go 2-18 and probably still throw a gem. It's just who he is. I like that Moss/Harvin will draw the double coverage. I don't have AP but I'm also not playing against him this week, whew. Now if your QB can show up too. I'd love nothing but a romp of the Jests in the swamp, please. What exactly do we chat about in Feb/March when there's no sports? StarM 03:54, 10 October 2010 (UTC)

We'll see what April brings. I still love me my twins, it's just sad that they need the yankees to have an off year in order to go anywhere in the playoffs (aka 1987 and 1991). Sad. Anywho, baseball is now officially over for me. I probably won't watch much of the rest. Nah, that's not true, I'll probably watch every game, I'm a masochist. I've been cheering for the vikings to lose, for what its worth, but I dislike the jests a little more than the viqueens right now, so I'll feign interest in them winning this week. Sports are done for me until April (except a little March Madness basketball that is). G'nite - Keeper | 76 04:05, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
And to show I'm not a total spoil sport, I did a mainspace edit in your honor. It took every fiber of my being not to type "the fucking Yankees" in the summary. I wrote the whole paragraph :-) Keeper | 76 04:11, 10 October 2010 (UTC)
clearly much better self control then i had back in my younger days.[2][3][4][5][6][7]--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 01:13, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

somewhere around here we go to football

Brew, <3 you. Your team allegiances out there if you hadn't fessed up already. I made a main space edit a week or so ago. I think it's funny that | 20 revisions go back 10 months and most of that was brief anti vandalism. I'm so done here. Keeper, you're a better man than I. I haven't watched one nanosecond of baseball today - but that's also because it's football. FOOTBALL. You mean there's something else going on. Wait why are you rooting against the Vikes? Thought they were your team. Yankees got lucky, no doubt. I do not want to face a feisty Tampa. I'd love Big Lame shields to get shellacked in game 5. And to not see Cliff Lee for some time for sure. StarM 02:23, 11 October 2010 (UTC)

Buh-bye, yankees. Time to go home to your mansions. Go Rangers! Keeper | 76 03:39, 23 October 2010 (UTC)
Go look at my Oct 1 prediction on your page. Rangers was no surprise. Best team clearly won. My frustration? ARoid (and Rollins tonight) go down LOOKING to end the season. Nothing worse than that. You're getting paid bajillions. Swing the fucking bat. DId you see any of the NLCS? That was an amazing series. So now we're fully onto football. If your Vikings beat the Packers they're right back in it. Let's go Giants vs. Cowgirls. StarM 05:30, 24 October 2010 (UTC)
Wasn't it Howard standing there like he didn't know what to do with that tree in his hands? Thought it was Howard, not Rollins. No matter, the NLCS was pretty terrific - one of my good chaps is a huge Giants fan (God love him), so I'm now leaning towards the Giants, although I wouldn't be horribly sad to see the Rangers win. In fact, I think the Rangers definitely have the edge - they have the pitching and the batting, Giants only have the pitching it seems, other than (who?) Cody Ross. Yeah, football made me laugh last night, old man Favorless limping around like he's hurt. Now, all week I'll get to watch friggin sportscenter play the "will he or won't he play" next week, and to add an insane level of aggravation to the season, now he's saying "Yeah, I sent the voicemails, but not the pictures" bullshit? What a douche. The man should run for office, he shur likes to be on camera saying Nothing about Anything. I don't like the vikings this year, they completely deserve their record (actually, they should be 1-5, they stole a game from the Cowgirls). Keeper | 76 14:57, 25 October 2010 (UTC)
and he's so the first married man to send messages to a woman that's not his wife. I'm so over the "scandal". How is it harassment if she isn't complaining? Don't get me wrong, sexual harassment is a real issue but this just smacks of the woman who was wearing tight clothes and the whole banking thing. Give me a break, it takes attention from men/women who are legitimately harassed. For my fantasy league I picked up TJax, it's a gamble but it's better than nothing. Stealing one from the Cowgirls is AOK with me. Hoping Giants can hold on tonight. Knocked out another QB. Will hear Cowgirls singing that they beat Kitna, not Romo but ugh. They need to show. Was it Howard? Either way, same point. RIDICULOUS. Yet Eiland is scape goat. Ratings will be better with SFG and bicoastal fansthan it would have been with Philly. I need football because I don't do basketball or hockey and I sure don't do anything productive here anymore :o StarM 03:31, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
agree. as someone who is sexually harassed on a daily basis, this was not a big deal. on another note, that whole Cowboys scene is pretty sad.--brewcrewer (yada, yada) 04:30, 26 October 2010 (UTC)
Cowgirls? Sad? Nah. I call it karma for the super bowl crowing. 1-15 would be wonderful. StarM 03:13, 4 November 2010 (UTC)
NO! I don't want the headless horsemen to be 1-15. They'll get too much attention for being so bad. I would druther they were like 5-11, or 6-10. Bad enough to not be any danger to any other teams, but good enough that they disappear into the middle of the pack teams like the vikings. Keeper | 76 03:51, 5 November 2010 (UTC)
OK we needed a section break so some of this eventually archives. Its killing my connection :o True on memorably bad - that's what I wanted for the Nets last year. Might as well be record breakingly bad. Something about them and the Bills and Panthers fighting for the bottom. Rather they stay horrid one more week though. StarM 04:45, 10 November 2010 (UTC)

I'm not sure how more honest an artist can be in relating to his audience, playing in the street to entice people to stop , listen, buy a CD or attend a intimate concert where he steps down into the audience and plays to them ?

There's no hype, no big record company, just a musician playing directly to fans

I'm trying to give as much factual info as possible m both from the artist himself and his manager and not sure why factual details about his CD's should be deleted ? I had hoped to put up some more info on the 3 CD's you have :Speeedily Deleted" today.

Egads

Welcome to my world. Hope everyone is safe over there....

Thanks, Keep. I'm OK. Long process to get out since NYC isn't the most proficient at dealing with snow but we're getting there. In the future, can you please keep that weather over there? I said to a colleague today who went to Michigan for his Christmas, can't you just send a pic and not the real thing? :-) This is what I walked out to yesterday morning. I'm about ready for the beach. Hope all is well with you. Thanks, belated, for the above clean up as well. StarM 01:00, 29 December 2010 (UTC)

COL Richard T. Curry Article Deleted

Dear Sir,

I am asking that you please restore the COL Richard T. Curry article due to the fact that as stated in the article it has significant relevance to Ohio Military History. COL Curry is the only Officer in the Ohio National Guard to not only deploy to Iraq (and a war zone period) by leading his battalion of 524 soldiers 2004-2005, he also lead the largest deployment since WWII from Ohio to war in 2007-2008 (37th IBCT) both as the Commander. This is a first and needs to be captured for historical reasons and wikipedia is a perfect venue to have this information stored for future researchers and contributors. He was also the last commander of the the 37th Armor Brigade and first commander of the newly redesigned 37th Infantry Brigade Combat Team taking the organization through a very intense reorganization period from 2006-2007. I respectfully disagree with you assessment that there is no relevance to this article and in fact state that the article is very relevant to Ohio Military History. Thank you for consideration in this matter. Bengal40 (talk) 14:51, 4 February 2011 (UTC)

Baseball

OK, so MiszaBot cleaned off all the fun stuff. Now leaving this in case Brew or Keeper wander by. There needs to be baseball. Oh and Brew? Calling it now. Ollie throws a no no vs. the Mets to continue in that trend. And definitely still retired. Day Pitney LLP Page Deleted

Hello - I am the marketing technology manager at Day Pitney LLP and I'd appreciate it if you could reinstate the Day Pitney wiki page. I understand that you deleted the page on notability grounds. Please note that we are an AMLAW 200 law firm (we're ranked 120 in firm size/revenue) and would very much like our page reinstated. It did contain additional information than what is found on our website - particularly the historical information.

thank you very much

I'm really not a Jeter fan, for obvious reasons, but I'd be pretty dang surprised if anyone else ever wears a #2 in pinstripes. Nice going, and what an amazing game today to accomplish 3K. I enjoyed it, but only because I'm a baseball fan first. And now I can reason my regularly scheduled Yankee hating. Keeper | 76 01:15, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

LOL, thanks. I was supposed to be at the rainout last night and will be there tomorrow for reasons wholly unrelated to Jeter. There are some jackasses who paid north of $1K to be there last night. Oops. I'm not a Jeter fan. but today was magic. Now we all need the ASB to get healthy. Hope all is well in Keeper land. StarM 03:24, 10 July 2011 (UTC)

So, my team sucks this year, and they have the record to show for it. Your team sucks this year, and they get the superbowl? What the tebow is that all about?? Done pissed me off. :-) Keeper | 76 17:17, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

LOL I was just headed over to AN:K to say this. Giants had flaws, but luckily so did the other 15 teams in the NFC. Proud of them for taking advantage of the one year in a long time that 9-7 wins the NFC East and capitalizing on mistakes. Can't believe they pulled out last night. I was half expecting a let down after taking out the Pack (come on - you had to be rooting for the Giants at least last week) but SF decided to hand them the game. Or knee it. What the tebow? would he approve of you taking his name in vain and all? ;-) StarM 21:24, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
It just isn't fair. When the vikes are 9-7, they don't make the playoffs (of course, most teams don't, nevermind last years Seahawkanomaly). And true, I haven't enjoyed a football game much more than I enjoyed the absolute POUNDING the packers took at home. Just to see the faces in the crowd, those pitiful crestfallen, cheese-laden faces. They looked as green as the pack uniforms. A beautiful sight. Back home, tails tucked. Completely embarassed. And actually booing! I honestly never thought I'd hear booing at Lam-boring. Exquisite. But I was on board with the nines, (have some good friends by the bay) and mostly I just did NOT want a SB rematch. SportsCenter is going to be absolutely intolerable, tyree style, for the next 2 weeks. In basketball news, the timberwolves are actually, impossibly, albeit only slightly, interesting this year! Whodathunkit. Keeper | 76 23:35, 23 January 2012 (UTC)
I call it return karma for 10-6 not making the playoffs last season. I think they said it's the first sub 10 game winning division winner in a full season in history. Nuts. Or taking advantage of the snoozing "dream" team. Still cannot believe they went 0-2 vs the Deadskins & got embarassed by the Seachickens at home... and are headed to the SB. I wanted an '01 SB rematch. I wanted it to be the ultimate stop on the Revenge Tour, which is what this post season was. But I'll take smacking down the Pats again. ESPN is awful. No questions there. This is a thing of beauty from the Pack game. Also lots of Blue Cheese. I don't follow the NBA, but I'm glad you'e having a good season. Also, Morneau meant to be feeling better. What's with Slowey being traded 86 times? StarM 01:48, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
Slowey is a whiny primadonna. Good riddance. Can't wait to beat him up in the Central division (he's finally landed in Cleveland, right? Think so..) Twins couldn't unload him fast enough imo. Crazy stuff about Fausto Carmona, eh? I need to read up on some baseball news, I've been hibernating/travelling quite a bit. M&M boys better get their act together this year, even the MN nice fans will lose patience, a la Vikings fans leaving in droves/can't get a stadium built to save their lives. I'm done with football. No offense. Hate hate hate the Pats and Brady but mostly Bellycheck, so go giants I suppose :-) Keeper | 76 02:00, 24 January 2012 (UTC)
I think so. He's backup for the pitcher formerly known an as Fausto in case former Fausto can't get a visa. He & Leo Nunez in the same season? Crazy. What do you think of the Pineda/MOntero trade? I think Cashman was in the same "not thinking about baseball" place as I was until he exploded last week. I don't know enough about Pineda, but I'm thinking a pitcher is a better find than a hitter who can be replaced. Was surprised to see how empty Lambeau was at game's end. Spoiled fans quitting on their team that quit. What a mess. I'm not a fan of St. Aarom so it was nice to see him fail. Hope travel & all has gone well & you're staying warm StarM 02:33, 24 January 2012 (UTC)

Re: Miles/KMs

Measurement conversion is just a simple calculation, so it's OK to convert the units given in the source if necesssary. I might see if I can use Geoscience Australia's website in this case. Graham87 06:04, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

I didn't end up using that, but I removed the distances that you added to the major cities and provided the only rail distance that IMO really matters ... the distance between Cook and Port Augusta. Graham87 06:33, 28 January 2012 (UTC)

Hi,

Over the weekend we got a message about the potential removal of our company page. We weren't too sure how it didn't follow your guidelines and we responded to see how the removal notice can be alleviated. However, we didn't hear back from you and now our page is gone. I'm wondering how we can get this fixed and be in good standings with you guys. Thanks!

Hi StarM,

Thanks for getting back to me. I just want to make sure this time when we post up our Patexia page it follows the Wikipedia guidelines. If possible, can I first patch it over to you for review before I post it up? Thanks.

-Rich — Preceding unsigned comment added by Revisitingnixon (talkcontribs) 18:30, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

yep, see your talk StarM 18:34, 31 January 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, but that's not a valid G12. Per the G12 criteria "Only if the history is unsalvageably corrupted should it be deleted in its entirety; earlier versions without infringement should be retained." and I know that page had non-infringing versions as that was the reason I didn't tag it G12. I disagree that it's not an A7 however. I know that the criteria is that they have to have some indication of possibly being notable but per our notability guidelines mayors are not automatically notable and given the small size of the town (as indicated by the number of voters in the article) I don't think simply being a mayor is any sign of notability. That said I do believe that's within admin discretion. I'm sure some admins would see "mayor" and automatically reject while others would look further and probably delete. Dpmuk (talk) 00:03, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

OK. I was under the impression that their was a version that was pretty much "Dan Terrell is mayor of x" but maybe I've remembered wrong. I disagree about how closely you're interpreting the wording of A7 and am confident that many admin would have deleted, but as I say it's probably an admin discretion one. My wording above was probably a bit strong in that the G12 was probably a discretion as well. Oh well no point taking it to AfD, we agree that it's speediable, just for different reasons. And I definitely can't be bothered to try to sort out the copyvio stuff were it restored for AfD given that it clearly isn't going to survive AfD. Dpmuk (talk) 00:20, 2 February 2012 (UTC)

MSU Interview

Dear Star Mississippi,

My name is Jonathan Obar user:Jaobar, I'm a professor in the College of Communication Arts and Sciences at Michigan State University and a Teaching Fellow with the Wikimedia Foundation's Education Program. This semester I've been running a little experiment at MSU, a class where we teach students about becoming Wikipedia administrators. Not a lot is known about your community, and our students (who are fascinated by wiki-culture by the way!) want to learn how you do what you do, and why you do it. A while back I proposed this idea (the class) to the community HERE, where it was met mainly with positive feedback. Anyhow, I'd like my students to speak with a few administrators to get a sense of admin experiences, training, motivations, likes, dislikes, etc. We were wondering if you'd be interested in speaking with one of our students.

So a few things about the interviews:

  • Interviews will last between 15 and 30 minutes.

Greetings,

Our students have been attempting to contact you to set up an interview for our class. You had originally signed your name to THIS LIST. You have not responded to our notes on your talk page. Are you no longer interested in being interviewed? --Jaobar (talk) 14:41, 17 April 2012 (UTC)

blanking the page

Yes, it was my intention to blank Talk:Orthodox Cathedral of Saints Cyril and Methodius, this is a redirect and I don't think it's useful to have wikiproject banners there. What's your take on this issue? Cloudz679 05:37, 13 March 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure I use a more specific edit summary on similar cases in the future. In the case of redirects, the article already exists and is on the wikiproject, where it can be assessed, categorised, etc., so while the redirect is useful for general navigation, I don't see how it helps a WikiProject. Great start?

Our teams sure are off to great starts, eh? Balty and the Bay out to early leads...Bloodsox and Cranks winless. Fun times in the Twin Cities too. Ugh. Keeper | 76 20:41, 9 April 2012 (UTC)

What a mess. But luckily we know Twins/NYY/Sox won't go 0-162 and the Os/Rays/Mess won't go 162-0. All will right itself, eventually. Yankees are winnning tonight because it's the first game I'm getting to watch. Hope you had a good Easter or Passover if you celebrate StarM 01:18, 10 April 2012 (UTC)

Ataria

It looks alright to me. That is the sourcing is sufficient to make a case that it passes the WP:GNG and I wouldn't delete it under speedy criterion G4. If sources are in Spanish or another language, they are still usable to demonstrate notability. I would expect there to be some local ones about the site, and not just the building, but they may not be online. Thanks for the good work. You can move it back to the mainspace now, if you like, or wait until you have the opportunity to work on it some more. Eluchil404 (talk) 03:57, 22 April 2012 (UTC)

Best practice is probably to include a link to the AfD, whether using the template or not and a citation to [8] showing that I declined to G4 it. Eluchil404 (talk) 03:50, 23 April 2012 (UTC)

Deleted versions are only accessible to admins, so it's not a site problem. The deleted version was basically a plot summary written by a self-confessed fan with no indication of why the book was notable. Yours says why it's notable and has a reference to a RS source. Your recent stub creations

Thank you for writing new stubs about museums in Alabama related to the American civil war. I would like to point out a couple points:

  1. Each state of the US (and Washington DC, which isn't technically a state, but is treated as one as far as stub tags are concerned) now has it's own museum stub tag. In stead of using {{Alabama-stub}} and {{museum-stub}}, please use ({{Alabama-museum-stub}}. Same goes for all the other US states (as one word in CamelCase, and GeorgiaUS for Georgia).
  2. Stub tags go at the very end, after the categories.

Hello again,

I understand that wrestling fans that didn't "like" me decided to have me deleted. I have made appearances on TV, radio and am a working model and athlete. Would you consider re posting my Wikipedia page... My brother in-law who is a promoter for wrestling is helping with the page, I just gave an interview. I helped pick the photo out and didn't know the reference add. Maybe you could un-delete it and he can put that up? If you want, you could show or help me, if you have any suggestions I love to hear others advice or input. Please take what I am saying seriously. I have over 50,000 hits on some search engines and they are all blogs full of hate. I really need my name in good faith, as I believe in being a good person- a lot of wrestling fans use my God given name to bash me, role play my name, and insult me.

Any font type, tools, tables and references would greatly help me. Please do not allow other people's hate for me, decide to delete my creditability.

AfC reviews and the script

Hi. Not that (obviously) you are not qualified to review drafts, but would you mind signing up as an AfC participant and use the script to do so? Your approval of Museum of Science Fiction was messy, leaving AfC headers on the article (as can be seen [here]). There is a new 'rewrite' of the script at User:Theopolisme/afch-rewrite.js that fixes most of the problems with the old version, and is being actively developed. Reventtalk 20:31, 31 July 2014 (UTC)

Thanks for the note. I know very little about AFC or scripts and got stuck on the admin tools which wouldn't let me move. I usually move only when the Museum Project is pinged and I know something about the topic. Sorry to have made a mess. If I can figure out the scripts, I will. Otherwise I'll leave the moving for someone else. Thanks again StarM 02:30, 1 August 2014 (UTC)

All is well. I hope by you too. Someone was over by me and saw my copies of Wikipedia:The Missing Manual that I had handed out and I was trying to figure out which meetups I had attended (I went to two, one before I was an admin and one after). I'll look through my deleted edits because I think one of the pages was deleted (can't find it in my history). I remembered I had met you entering the campus on the way to the meetup (I'm fuzzy on the details, did we arrange to meet beforehand? How did we know who we were?), so I figured I'd ask. Enigmamsg 22:19, 14 October 2014 (UTC)
Now that you mention that, I think so. I didn't know the Columbia campus and was a little anxious about getting lost so I think you kindly offered to meet me. Maybe at the train. DDG was there, and I walked with someone else back to the train as he ws headed to Metro North. I don't recall his name. I also met Pharoah... something at MoMA. StarM 03:37, 16 October 2014 (UTC)

Nejc, go to WP:Refund. An administrator can e-mail your the text. Don't bother with deletion review. The simplest option would be to ask the administrator who delete it (TomStar81). Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:36, 30 October 2014 (UTC) It appears that the deleting admin is not all that active so asking him might not be worthwhile. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 02:38, 30 October 2014 (UTC)

I think I can answer that question for you: If my guess is right, they came here after reading my "did I delete your page?" bullet on my talk page, which links to your csd deletion explanation page and the deletion review process, respectively. I'll wager that since I borrowed your page for my csd explanation they asked you since it was in your userspace. Sorry about that :) TomStar81 (Talk) 01:20, 31 October 2014 (UTC)

Marimedia Deleted Page

Hi, you have deleted my page about Marimedia- an online marketing company. Can you give me a little guidance as to why Marimedia page was deleted and similar pages in the same sector as Marimedia such as Matomy Digital or Ybrant pages are up. The wiki page I created was not promotional in the least bit. It would be really helpful if you can cite specific sentences that you had a problem with instead of generic tips a wiki page being non promotional. I am only asking this because I truly cannot understand what at all was promotional about the page and after viewing companies in the same sector and their pages, I am even more confused as to why a page on Marimedia was not accepted. Thanks for taking the time and I really hope you reconsider the deletion. Yana114 (talk) 12:56, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

I was not the one who deleted the page you created. I believe you're looking for TomStar81 who was the deleting admin. I'm sure he'll weigh in on his specific feelings, but re: other pages being up, I refer you to WP:OSE, which may help. StarM 03:07, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Deletion of page - AirData

Hello,

It seems the AirData page was deleted citing A7 and possible copyright infringement.

Firstly, I apologise if the page failed to convey relevance. The page was unfinished - I was hoping to finish it today. If possible, I would like to get the page reinstated please?

Relevance. We (World Fuel Services) are one of the largest independent fuel suppliers (aviation, marine and land) in the world and already have a page in wiki for the main part of our business. AirData is a section of the corporation dedicated to flight planning software development for commercial and military aviation. The company was the first company to produce PC based flight planning suitable for commercial aviation back in the early 1980's when flight planning was exclusively a mainframe computational task. We also work exclusively with Airbus as part of the aircraft development programme (All the A380 test flights were performed using AirData flight planning) and we are at the forefront of work with Eurocontrol and the FAA in utilising the AIXM aviation model data. Whilst I would agree that it is very niche and not of general interest it is of interest to those within this domain. Also, if this page is not relevant then pages for Lufthansa Systems, Air Routing, ARINC etc. would also come under A7

As for copyright infringement I'm not sure what would have generated that. We had one paragraph which was duplicated from our main page, so perhaps that was the cause?

Thanks for your assistance. Chaste67 (talk) 09:20, 20 November 2014 (UTC)

Hi you're looking for TomStar81. While I was not the deleting admin I would refer you to our guidelies on conflict of interest. Copying your website, which is also likely not enyclopedic, would definitely trigger copyright notice. StarM 03:11, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Apology

I am beginning to think I may need to execute a copy/paste of your page so that editors come to me when I csd or afd material, rather than bugging you. Sorry about that, I guess to every brilliant idea there is an Achilles heel. TomStar81 (Talk) 03:27, 21 November 2014 (UTC)

Hello Star Mississippi

As best I can tell, you deleted the Wikipedia page that appeared under my name, based on "copyright infringement".

I would appreciate your help in understanding and resolving that situation.

The page was first created at least a half dozen years ago by a newspaper reporter in New York City.

And though various people, including some who worked for my museum, made edits, all those edits were referencing publicly available sources, such as the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, or the Wall Street Journal.

To the best of my knowledge, as a lawyer, and as a layperson, there was nothing bordering upon or touching upon possible copyright infringement.

Can you please help me understand the situation, and how to proceed from here?

Thank you very much.

Star Mississippi or TomStar

As best I can tell, either you, or Wiki user TomStar (which may be the same user) deleted the Wikipedia page that appeared under my name, Philip Schwalb, based on "copyright infringement".

I think you'll agree, upon reviewing, that there is no lifting of language or anything else written in the article in existence since 2008 (with proper and rigorous footnote attribution) that would approach a copyright issue.

I would appreciate your help in resolving this situation. The page was first created at least a half dozen years ago by a newspaper reporter in New York City. And though various people, including some who worked for my museum, made edits, all those edits were referencing publicly available sources, such as the New York Times, Sports Illustrated, or the Wall Street Journal - and MOST IMPORTANTLY FOR THIS SITUATION, did not infringe on any copyright rules.

If, as a lawyer, and as a layperson, I am mistaken about that, WHATEVER YOU DEEMED TO BE A COPYRIGHT ISSUE, CAN AND WILL BE QUICKLY FIXED AS DIRECTED.

Thank you very much for your FIDELITY to the Wikipedia collective system, and your guidance and assistance.

We are not the same person, but pinging he & FreeRangeFrog (talk · contribs) who seemed to be involved in most recent activity. As per my response to the request for this article made at WP:REFUND, three deletions for copyvio is two more than we can be reasonably expected to put up with. Further, the editor has an obvious conflict of interest and should follow the instructions at WP:PSCOI, which are clear about the need to submit a draft. And in this case it will be doubly helpful given the proclivity for copy and paste. Asking multiple admins or boards does not change the reality of the COI requirements. §FreeRangeFrogcroak 04:10, 8 January 2015 (UTC)

Gibb River Road and Wolfe Creek Crater

Dear Star Mississippi,

Thank you for letting me know what you have updated, however regardless of you thinking it as promotional I disagree, its more of an information website, as most information out there right now is not uptodate ...so we provide specifically for that region the correct information, driving hazards, visitor centre information and links to other items as well as old photos current photos and general history, 99% of the information links back to the community thru visitor centres or Hotels or both.

I would greatly appreciate you reversing that decision.

And I base this on other examples of Australian Icons that we own and operate or manage for third parties, we provide the correct information for people to read up about that Icon then redirect back to the community, we are filling that void and providing a information website of what to do where to go, the history old photos etc etc

Most of Australia's Icons will come under our banner in the next 12 - 18 months

And we actually state that on our posts that we are an information Website Link and its under external links

If you can suggest how I am able to resolve this satisfactory so we are able to continue with this I would very much appreciate your guidance on this

I look forward to your reply

Kind regards

I think you have a misunderstanding of what Wikipedia is here for. An encyclopedia is not the place for "driving hazards, visitor centre information and links..." I think the better place for your content might be WikiTravel and I'm not sure of their Conflict of Interest guidelines. That issue makes your links here problematic regardless of their content, and I'd urge you not to add them to any other sites you manage. Happy to discuss further. StarM 05:42, 17 January 2015 (UTC)

Question regarding article deletion

Hi - I have read through the notes and understand why the article that I wrote does not conform to Wikipedia standards - generally due to copyright issues and that the content reads like advertisement. I would like to try and rewrite the article to properly conform to the standards. Can you tell me if this is an option? If so, is it possible to somehow retrieve the original article?
