Imperial index

[edit]

Necj, do you have sources or website that could confirm that Imperial index is genuine? Oiyarbepsy (talk) 03:36, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What are the criteria of genuineness?--Nejc Kincl (talk) 03:46, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

What I mean is that Wikipedia doesn't publish original research. We only write about things that others have already written about. I did a web search and wasn't able to find mention of this index, but web searches are obviously seriously limited. If you have some books or research journals that discuss this, it would be very helpful, and I could add it to the article for you. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 04:23, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

I made it up. I have no knowledge of any book or research journal mentioning the imperial index. If I make a seperate website mentioning the concept and then referencing that website in this wikipedia article, would that be ok? Its just a definition of a term, making it easier to say "the ratio between the population of the metropole and the periphery", instead saying simply "the imperial ratio". --Nejc Kincl (talk) 04:48, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, if you manage to get published by someone respectable, then you might get it on Wikipedia someday. Which means you would really need to detail and clean up your concept. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 14:33, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How much more can one detail and clean up the concept, given it has a mathematical equation to define it. It's ultra simple, being a simple relationship between two known values. I got the idea from therapeutic index.

Right. People have written scientific papers about the therapeutic index that got published by journals. The amount of material you've provided is a long way from what a journal of history would consider for publication, and not nearly enough for a book. That's what I mean - you need to add enough detail and research to your idea that you could get it published in a place like that. Oiyarbepsy (talk) 18:11, 29 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Imperial index requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about something invented/coined/discovered by the article's creator or someone they know personally, and it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Imperial Index

[edit]

I've restored your page, its now at User:Nejc Kincl/Imperial index. I'd recommend losing the deletion tag so it doesn't end up axed again. Good luck republishing it, hopefully it'll be back on here before too much longer. TomStar81 (Talk) 03:13, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How does one get rid of the deletion tag?--Nejc Kincl (talk) 18:38, 30 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

When you go to edit the page you should see something to the effect of {{db-hoax}} or {{db-notability}} or so forth in that manner. Remove this text and it removes the deletion tag from the article. As long as the material is in your userspace, it is generally considered to be safe from deletion unless the material presents some for of clear and present danger (which your material doesn't). As it stands right now, your page has no tags, and therefore doesn't show as part of any category, meaning it should be safe from prying eyes and the deletion patrol people until such time as it is reintroduced to the main article space. Information icon Hello, I'm I dream of horses. I wanted to let you know that I undid one of your recent contributions —the one you made with this edit to Astronomical Society Vega - Ljubljana (Slovenia)— because it didn’t appear constructive to me. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. I dream of horses @ 03:22, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Deleting references, OK. Deleting all notable people, I don't agree. I readded some of them. What is your opinion about having "(Slovenia)" in the title of the article? Did I correctly do the Talkback thing? --Nejc Kincl (talk) 04:02, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, you didn't do the {{talkback}} template correct--you're supposed to do it like {{talkback|Nejc Kinc}}.
Your edit seemed like a joke--if it wasn't, feel free to readd it. I dream of horses If you reply here, please leave me a {{Talkback}} message on my talk page. @ 05:00, 1 November 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Stale drafts?

[edit]

Regarding octobitism and imperial index: what do you want me to do: a) move them to draft: space and put {{submit}} tags on them or b) delete as freeloading. Both articles are good but unfortunately both will probably have to be rejected as neologisms. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 12:14, 28 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

No reply, so I have submitted both. — RHaworth (talk · contribs) 17:32, 18 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Gimnazija Šentvid has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:NSCHOOL, lacks any independent reliable secondary sources. The School's website is a primary source and Google Maps is not a reliable source, for the purposes of establishing notability. It has been tagged as such since November 2014 without improvement or referencing.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
