Unreferenced BLPs

[edit]

Hello Srsbharathi! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot notifying you on behalf of the the unreferenced biographies team that 1 of the articles that you created is currently tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 16 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:

  1. Rajaratnam Sivachandran - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Thanks!--DASHBot (talk) 06:29, 19 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Rajaratnam Sivachandran has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Long-term unreferenced biography; no evidence that the subject meets either the WP:PROF or WP:AUTHOR notability guidelines.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. AllyD (talk) 18:51, 29 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Srsbharathi. I wanted to let you know that I’m proposing an article that you started, Prof Sivachandran, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. If you don't want Prof Sivachandran to be deleted, please add a reference to the article.

If you don't understand this message, you can leave a note on my talk page.

Thanks, Yakatz (talk) 03:49, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Articles about living people

When you want to create an article about a living person, first you must read and understand the Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons policy as well as the Wikipedia:Manual of Style. Yakatz (talk) 04:13, 18 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Prof Rajaratnam Sivachandran requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://noolahamfoundation.org/wiki/index.php?oldid=7398&title=Prof._Sivachandran_Rajaratnam. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. A tag has been placed on Prof Rajaratnam Sivachandran requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, such as at Articles for deletion. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Advice

[edit]

If you don't want the Sivachandran article deleted you need to rewrite it so that it looks like an encyclopedic article rather than a resume. See K. Indrapala for example. Obi2canibe (talk) 21:02, 22 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
