adding two elements to my section:

a) The ecosystem services provided by Mangroves and their role in mitigating climate change (also maybe a sentence on economic value of Mangroves in Thailand)

b) Mangrove restoration initiatives in Thailand

Comment on selecting sources: Hieup (talk) 21:48, 13 March 2022 (UTC)hieup

Source #1 is not good to use if you're focusing on Thailand. To have a good overview about mangrove restoration and conservation, Alongi's work is good. Source #4 & 5 seems to be good, but you want to dig deeper to select the best study by Alongi. By "the best," I mean a work that best fits your writing on Thailand. Source #4 might be better due to the recent date of publication. Check also the following source by the same author: Alongi, Daniel M. "Mangrove forests: resilience, protection from tsunamis, and responses to global climate change." Estuarine, coastal and shelf science 76, no. 1 (2008): 1-13. I've suggested this source because it is widely cited. Section 4 & 5 of this study seems to be useful for your project. For a source that focuses on Southeast Asia, check this source: Friess, Daniel A., Benjamin S. Thompson, Ben Brown, A. Aldrie Amir, Clint Cameron, Heather J. Koldewey, Sigit D. Sasmito, and Frida Sidik. "Policy challenges and approaches for the conservation of mangrove forests in Southeast Asia." Conservation Biology 30, no. 5 (2016): 933-949. I would stay away from source #3 since it is a qualitative study. That means, if you want to use this source, you should find at least 1 or 2 more qualitative studies to provide additional perspective to the research findings presented in source #3. Source #6 is good. I agree- it's a bit old. A way to find more updated source is to situate this source on Google Scholar and find out who have cited this source (click "cited by..."). Studying this list, I would suggest two following sources: 1) Bennett, Nathan James, and Philip Dearden. "Why local people do not support conservation: Community perceptions of marine protected area livelihood impacts, governance and management in Thailand." Marine policy 44 (2014): 107-116. AND 2) Bennett, Nathan J., Philip Dearden, Grant Murray, and Alin Kadfak. "The capacity to adapt? Communities in a changing climate, environment, and economy on the northern Andaman coast of Thailand." Ecology and Society 19, no. 2 (2014). They might be overlapping (same authors) - Skim them to decide if you need both. Source #7 is good.

Next steps: 1) Clean up your bibliography by bringing the source you will use to the top of the list. I would like to see your revised bibliography before March-19 (Saturday). 2) Start to work on your Draft in your Sandbox Draft. Make sure you've carefully read the guide on your Sandbox Draft how to copy and paste materials in this sandbox.
