Welcome to MILHIST

Thanks for signing up for this project. It is a very busy and active project with lots going on and we can always use more help and especially a fresh set of eyes. If you haven't done so already you might want to add Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft to your watch list as this is where much of the background discussion occurs. You may also want to watch Wikipedia:New articles (Aircraft) as this is where newly created articles get listed for peer review. Having a look over these new articles is a great way to get a feel for how things are done on the project and also most new articles need reviewing anyway. If you have any questions you can leave me a note or post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Aircraft, either way you will get a quick response. - Ahunt (talk) 20:35, 22 July 2013 (UTC)

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did to Aeroflot, without verifying it by citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Jetstreamer Talk 16:42, 11 February 2014 (UTC)

Aeroflot

Maybe you haven't noticed it yet, but despite this site has contributions worldwide and everyone can edit it, this in an encyclopedia, and certain strictness is expected from anyone editing any article. The latest edits you made to Aeroflot ([1]) are in agreement with the source provided. This in an advance from your part, since you have been told to stick to information provided by references. However, there are some details still pending, like the "author" parameter in the {{cite web}} template. It is not intended for filling it with a date. Can you please be more careful. Again, this is not a blog or a personal site, this is an encyclopedia.--Jetstreamer Talk 12:32, 14 February 2014 (UTC)

Great! The only thing missing is the edit summary, but you're on the right track.--Jetstreamer Talk 19:20, 20 February 2014 (UTC)
Hello. Please note this. There's no point in changing the date parameter in the wayback machine archives (http://web.archive.org/web/20140517170645/http://www.aeroflot.ru/cms/en/flight/plane_park) if there is no archive to link to. The numbers in bold should be modified only after the page has been re-archived. Separately, the number of aircraft you introduced was not correct. Please be more careful.--Jetstreamer Talk 17:14, 17 May 2014 (UTC)

The last edits you made to the article ([2]) have been reverted. They were completely unsourced, which means you did not provide an inline citation to a reliable source for the changes. You have been warned not long ago for the addition of unsourced content into articles. I suggest you to start sourcing your changes, i.e. being in compliance with a core content policy like WP:VERIFY is. Otherwise, you may be blocked from editing. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:21, 11 June 2014 (UTC)

Edit summary

Hi there. When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field. If you are adding a section, please do not just keep the previous section's header in the Edit summary field – please fill in your new section's name instead. Thank you.--220 of Borg 09:33, 12 June 2014 (UTC)

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Demographics of Armenia, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Armenian. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Welcome!

Hello, Nguyen QuocTrung, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of your edits have not conformed to Wikipedia's verifiability policy, and may be removed if they have not yet been. Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media. Always remember to provide a reliable source for quotations and for any material that is likely to be challenged, or it may be removed. Wikipedia also has a related policy against including original research in articles. Additionally, all new biographies of living people must contain at least one reliable source.

If you are stuck and looking for help, please see the guide for citing sources or come to the new contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Here are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{help me}} before the question. Again, welcome!  Wikih101 (talk) 03:47, 21 February 2015 (UTC)

Hidden note

Please stop adding hidden notes into infoboxes of airline articles, like in this [3] edit. All the information in the infobox should be in perfect agreement with the content of every section, not just the number of aircraft in the fleet. That's exactly the purpose of infoboxes. Thanks.--Jetstreamer Talk 15:48, 29 March 2015 (UTC)

March Madness 2017

G'day all, please be advised that throughout March 2017 the Military history Wikiproject is running its March Madness drive. This is a backlog drive that is focused on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • updating the project's currently listed A-class articles to ensure their ongoing compliance with the listed criteria
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various task force pages or other lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the military history scope will be considered eligible. More information can be found here for those that are interested, and members can sign up as participants at that page also.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 March and runs until 23:59 UTC on 31 March 2017, so please sign up now.

2017 Military Historian of the Year and Newcomer of the Year nominations and voting

As we approach the end of the year, the Military History project is looking to recognise editors who have made a real difference. Each year we do this by bestowing two awards: the Military Historian of the Year and the Military History Newcomer of the Year. The co-ordinators invite all project members to get involved by nominating any editor they feel merits recognition for their contributions to the project. Nominations for both awards are open between 00:01 on 2 December 2017 and 23:59 on 15 December 2017. After this, a 14-day voting period will follow commencing at 00:01 on 16 December 2017. April 2018 Milhist Backlog Drive

G'day all, please be advised that throughout April 2018 the Military history Wikiproject is running its annual backlog elimination drive. This will focus on several key areas:

  • tagging and assessing articles that fall within the project's scope
  • adding or improving listed resources on Milhist's task force pages
  • updating the open tasks template on Milhist's task force pages
  • creating articles that are listed as "requested" on the project's various lists of missing articles.

As with past Milhist drives, there are points awarded for working on articles in the targeted areas, with barnstars being awarded at the end for different levels of achievement.

The drive is open to all Wikipedians, not just members of the Military history project, although only work on articles that fall (broadly) within the scope of military history will be considered eligible. This year, the Military history project would like to extend a specific welcome to members of Wikipedia:WikiProject Women in Red, and we would like to encourage all participants to consider working on helping to improve our coverage of women in the military. This is not the sole focus of the edit-a-thon, though, and there are aspects that hopefully will appeal to pretty much everyone.

The drive starts at 00:01 UTC on 1 April and runs until 23:59 UTC on 30 April 2018. Those interested in participating can sign up here.

Sujeong-ro (Seongnam) moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Sujeong-ro (Seongnam), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Global Airline Guide 2017

Any reason why you dont think this is any good ? MilborneOne (talk) 12:06, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Have you checked this source? It doesn’t contain any information about the fleet number. I don’t know who added this reference but it can also be considered vandalism in some way. Nguyen QuocTrung (talk) 15:12, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

Vandalism? The user who added this source is reputable, as also is the reference, which is considered reliable.--Jetstreamer Talk 16:16, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

I don’t care he is reputable or not but I checked this and it doesn’t have any information about the fleet number. Maybe you know him well, if you could give me his username so I can talk with him about this? Nguyen QuocTrung (talk) 16:24, 15 April 2019 (UTC)

I don't know what you have been reading, but the Global Airline Guide does contain the number of each aircraft type in each fleet, that is why it is being used to update fleet data. I have updated CEIBA Intercontinental with the 2018 Global Airline Guide. In terms of checking the source I am sitting here with the magazine in front of me and it fully lists the numbers of each aircraft type in each fleet. Ardfern (talk) 14:35, 16 April 2019 (UTC)

Aircraft fleets 'as of April 2019'

Hi, Could you please stop adding this to airline fleets unless you have an April 2019 reference to back it up. Just because it is April 2019 does not mean all these entries should be updated to April 2019. Ardfern (talk) 00:42, 17 April 2019 (UTC)

If you want to expand, Please expand the article - Structure of the Republic of Korea Army.

Thanks for your advice and polishing the new article, I'll transfer all the sources from there to the new article in the near future.Footwiks (talk) 17:37, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
@Footwiks: Sorry, I see you already done that. Maybe I'm wrong but did you get the content from the Korean wiki for this article? Nguyen QuocTrung (talk) 17:45, 20 June 2023 (UTC)
Yes, I get the content from the Korean wiki for this article.
Structure of the Republic of Korea Army and ko:대한민국 육군의 부대 및 편성 목록 are almost same.
I translated KO Wiki Article - ko:대한민국 육군의 부대 및 편성 목록.
I recommended that we don't to excessively concentrate on the article - Structure of the Republic of Korea Army.
Because, formations and disbandments in the military are very frequent.
Honestly, we can't fill in perfect and detailed information about units in the article.
Current contenst in the article is near the mark.
Thanks, Have a nice day.

Notability

Hi, I saw you made Capital Artillery Brigade. Some feedback; please make sure to add WikiProjects to articles you create. Also, most of the sources on this are WP:PRIMARYSOURCEs; I'm not sure if this article is WP:NOTABLE because notability is established using non-primary sources.
