Hello, I'm RPI2026F1. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Bioinformation, but you didn't provide a source. I’ve removed it for now, but if you’d like to include a citation to a reliable source and re-add it, please do so! If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. RPI2026F1 (talk) 18:14, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia needs secondary sources. RPI2026F1 (talk) 18:30, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sure, I will be happy to provide sources for the journal. Please allow the journal page to stay live.
Here are the sources for the Bioinformation journal.
1. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/nlmcatalog?term=%22Bioinformation%22[Title+Abbreviation]
2. https://portal.issn.org/api/search?search[]=MUST=default=bioinformation&search_id=27392792 Skdhanda (talk) 18:34, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add or significantly change content without citing verifiable and reliable sources, as you did with this edit to M. Madan Babu. Before making any potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. RPI2026F1 (talk) 18:23, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I have provided the link to the journal website. I believe that is a credible source. Skdhanda (talk) 20:43, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Response to third opinion request:
I am declining your request for a third opinion as this is an official deletion discussion, not a two-party dispute. As detailed in the deletion discussion, other editors can comment on the topic for one week. You also have that time to prove that this topic meets the standard for notability. Notice

The article Bioinformation has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable journal. Not indexed in any selective databases (ESCI is not selective enough), no independent sources. Does not meet WP:NJournals or WP:GNG.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Randykitty (talk) 21:20, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Bioinformation ofcourse qualifies in WP:NJournals criteria.
C1: It is proper indexing, like Web of Science, Pubmed, Cross-ref.
C2. It has an impact factor, determined by Journal Citation Reports in 2023. Skdhanda (talk) 21:35, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Bioinformation for deletion

[edit]
A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Bioinformation is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bioinformation until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article until the discussion has finished.

Thanks for bringing this up. You must be aware that academic editors are not paid positions, and I declare I have not been paid for or paid anyway for editing or writing about Bioinformation.
I have been editing for a couple of journals and I noticed that the bioinformation journal too deserve a wiki page. All the content, I wrote on this journal are verifiable and open access. Skdhanda (talk) 18:27, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
