Please... stop the reverts
[edit]SEGA characters means SEGA characters. This is omitting crucial information for readers. I'm not naming specific franchises, so your "it could be anyone" argument, does it really work? Please, stop that. 2600:1012:B1C6:AD80:9C57:8A96:1F4E:1E70 (talk) 11:29, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- This is my account, btw. I was logged out. MissUnderstandin00 (talk) 11:33, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- More info: featuring "iconic characters from the Sonic and Sega universes"

- I had no intent of upsetting you, and I apologize if my reverts had that effect. For my part, I felt my reverts were valid, and I only reverted you twice, so I didn't violate WP:3RR. I don't desire to start an edit war over this, and I'm open to discussing the issue on the article's talk page if need be.
- My opinion was that as 1) Sega's announcement text didn't specify anything beyond "the Sonic and Sega universes", which was very vague promotional phrasing, 2) the gameplay trailer, as far as I know and as has been reported, doesn't show any characters not from Sonic media, and 3) the secondary sources don't suggest or state that the game might have non-Sonic characters, I felt that it was probably best to leave that out for now and wait for a more specific and complete listing of which "Sega universes" the game crosses over with, preferably from a reliable secondary source.
- However, it seems like Sergecross73 upheld your addition (albeit with slightly changed wording) when editing the page, so I'm inclined to accept my opinion is contrary to consensus on this matter and leave it be. silviaASH (inquire within) 12:05, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- Don't worry, I am not upset, and I hope you are not too, sorry if I come off as aggressive, I'm not, just passionate and very very bored and with a lot of time on my hands currently.
- There exist plenty of secondary sources, for example "Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds Adds Characters From "SEGA Universes" from Nintendo Life, a similar article from Pure Xbox, etc, etc, etc. I spotted at least 5 right now reporting on the inclusion of SEGA characters.
- Now I don't believe that "characters from Sonic and SEGA universes" is vague at all - there is no question here that this is referring to other SEGA properties being included as playable characters. I don't feel there is a need to wait on info for which ones are here, as that's leaving out beneficial / valuable info for readers. Besides, I never wrote in a specific franchise, so is there really a problem? Not trying to argue, by the way, just trying to help you see it in a different way... - If that's the direct quote, then I'm okay with expressing exactly that, as long as we don't extrapolate any further meaning out if it. Personally, I'm not expecting there to be much in the way of Sega characters judging by how many minor Sonic characters they're already announcing and teasing. Probably just the typical Nights Into Dreams cameos. Not that my opinion matters, we go by what sources say. Sergecross73 msg me 12:37, 13 February 2025 (UTC)
- I just chose to omit it precisely because it was so vague (as you say, it could mean yet another NiGHTS cameo, but it could also mean DLC updates adding the whole roster from All-Stars Racing Transformed, or anything in between- I wouldn't be surprised by a one-off Hatsune Miku racer DLC) and also because, as yet, the only real source of that statement is the WP:PRIMARY marketing material and a few secondary sources that repeated it verbatim. I think most people are expecting the latter rather than the former when they read that, so that's why I felt like it's appropriate to leave it out for now, in case it turns out that that vague statement is an exaggeration to build fan hype. silviaASH (inquire within) 12:47, 13 February 2025 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading File:Maria-shadow-puppet.png. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of non-free use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of non-free use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the file description page and add the text
{{Di-replaceable non-free use disputed|<your reason>}}
below the original replaceable non-free use template, replacing<your reason>
with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable. - On the file's talk page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification, per the non-free content policy.
