This Is Me (Keala Settle song)

[edit]

Please stop changing the template to the full version rather than for the 2010s decade; it is unnecessarily large, not relevant to the page overall, and you were reverted already. All the previous winners from past decades have nothing to do with this song specifically. If you disagree, take it to the talk page, or better yet, to avoid further disagreements and reverts, stop making wide-ranging changes to templates at all. Since they display on quite a number of pages, you're bound to run into opposition. Ss112 03:38, 19 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Decades in navboxes.

[edit]

Please do not split the navboxes by decades. This system was deprecated long ago. A decade split forces the navbox to be a certain height, rather than let the navbox find its own size. A split in this way is arbitrary and each entry has the year by it anyway. Splits should only be made if the navbox gets out of hand - when that has happened (usually if there are more than 50-75 entries), we have generally split into groups of 25, or by using a natural split, like in {{BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Leading Role}}. Massive unilateral overhauls like the ones you have been making should be discussed first. --woodensuperman 11:55, 1 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I do not understand why you have changed various templates to be identical to {{DramaDesk LightingDesign}}, {{DramaDesk CostumeDesign}}, and {{DramaDesk Lyrics}}.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 15:46, 19 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You just did it again after I asked you about it. Template:TonyAward LightingDesign 1970–1975 should not be identical to 4 other templates. Please stop making duplicate templates and please clean up the mess you are making all over WP.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 03:31, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You have messed up the templates quite a bit. There should not be multiple identical templates for all the subjects that you edit. @Woodensuperman and Frietjes: were gradually correctly merging things. You should talk to them and work with them on the proper procedures. In the mean time please stop creating more and more of a mess. All the templates that you have edited in the last week seem to be messed up. If templates have the same content, they should be merged.--TonyTheTiger (T / C / WP:FOUR / WP:CHICAGO / WP:WAWARD) 20:47, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It does not make sense that you think people would insist that multiple redundant templates abound. Have you ever seen anyone create multiple redundant templates anywhere else on Wikipedia? Template removals

[edit]

Hi, Can you explain why you're removing the ScreenActorsGuildAward CastMotionPicture 2011–2020 template from tons of articles?. –Davey2010Talk 02:14, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Because the Editors changed the ScreenActorsGuildAward CastMotionPicture 2011–2020, the template now only shows the film winners, not the cast. It doesn't make sense to have that template on a page that doesn't have them listed on it. SibTower1987 (talk) 02:35, 23 April 2018 (UTC)SibTower1987SibTower1987 (talk) 02:35, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Ah sorry I thought the BLP names were in that template, Okie dokie no worries, Thanks, –Davey2010Talk 02:41, 23 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

You need to stop removing nav boxes from articles. From the above, it appears you have a substantial history of poor editing choices in this area. You also need to learn to use edit summaries. Could you explain why you are removing the Grammy Award templates to musicians’ articles? Jusdafax (talk) 04:52, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The reason I'm removing the Grammy Award templates from some pages, because some of the names don't appear in the templates anymore when the templates were merged. SibTower1987 (talk) 05:02, 29 May 2018 (UTC)SibTower1987SibTower1987 (talk) 05:02, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
From reading above entries, it appears you were the one doing the merging, which messed them up. I’m asking you to stop editing templates entirely. And you have also been asked to use edit summaries, but refuse to do so. Why? Jusdafax (talk) 05:12, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If you didn't see from the dates, I stopped merging templates months ago (after another editor told me to); The edits I make are minor edits and when I make larger edits, I do use the edit summaries. SibTower1987 (talk) 05:22, 29 May 2018 (UTC)SibTower1987SibTower1987 (talk) 05:22, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Removing a nav box is not a minor edit. Please read WP:MINOR and understand it. Given your history, you should stay away from this type of mass editing. Since you are fairly new, I’m assuming good faith. But you should also read and understand WP:CIR regarding the competence required of editors. If you think you need help, ask. When in doubt, use edit summaries. It appears you have made some big mistakes. Learn from them. Stop any further template editing, is my strong request. Find something else to do on Wikipedia. Best wishes. Jusdafax (talk) 05:35, 29 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Template removals (Again)

[edit]

What is this about ? Nobody's name is in the template, those are film titles, please explain all these removals. - FlightTime (open channel) 15:49, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]

The Editors removed the actors names from the template and only shows the film titles. It doesn't make sense to have the template on the actors page where their names is no longer listed. SibTower1987 (talk) 15:56, 20 September 2018 (UTC)SibTower1987SibTower1987 (talk) 15:56, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Aren't the actors still connected to those movies ? - FlightTime (open channel) 15:57, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The actors name do not have to be listed to use the template, as long as the actors are somehow notable connected to the films listed. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:03, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That doesn't make sense, because when you look at the template (sometimes) you don't know what movie the actor(s) appears in and some actor(s) appears in different movies. SibTower1987 (talk) 16:14, 20 September 2018 (UTC)SibTower1987SibTower1987 (talk) 16:14, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Well, then maybe you should seek consensus for all this. - FlightTime (open channel) 16:16, 20 September 2018 (UTC)[reply]
The Editors has done this to other templates only listing the movie (Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture and Satellite Award for Best Cast – Motion Picture). Also I saw on some of the actors pages that the template was already removed. When the next cast winners are announced, they're going to list the film and only put the template on the film page (not on any of the actors pages). Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Beetlejuice (musical), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Anthony King (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Golden Raspberry Award Templates

[edit]

Hello, I've noticed that you have added a lot of templates to articles that are about the Golden Raspberry Awards. I don't know much about them, but in looking at Wikipedia:WikiProject Actors and Filmmakers/Consensus summaries it was decided ten years ago to never include them on actor/actress articles. Did this get discussed with the Actors and Filmmakers WikiProject? Thanks! Jip Orlando (talk) 19:01, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't know that! - I've always wonder why there were no templates for the actors. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SibTower1987 (talkcontribs) 19:14, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your response and reverting. This can be a politically-charged manner. Note that Donald Rumsfeld got a Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actor in 2004- I could see this as contentious. I think that the template for Worst Director is okay- but the other Golden Raspberry awards may not be appropriate, and not just limited to Worst Original Song, or whatever. I'm sorry you did a lot of work on this, but I don't want your good-faith work to cause many unhappy editors to come by demanding explanations. Thanks for your response! Jip Orlando (talk) 19:24, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
Well I'm removing the templates from the actors and actresses pages. If the editors want to remove the templates as a whole, it's in their hands. — Preceding unsigned comment added by SibTower1987 (talkcontribs) 19:32, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I've deleted five of those navboxes under CSD #4, recreation of a page that was previously deleted via an XFD. The remaining navboxes were not part of the original deletion discussion, so I've left them alone. Eagles 24/7 (C) 20:21, 3 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Template:Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Screen Combo, but we are trying to write an encyclopedia here, so please keep your edits factual and neutral. Our readers are looking for serious articles and will not find joke edits amusing. Remember that Wikipedia is a widely used reference tool, so we have to take what we do here seriously. If you'd like to experiment with editing, use the sandbox instead. The comment about Lindsay Lohan was inappropiate. Sundayclose (talk) 02:22, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I wasn't making jokes about her. That's how the Golden Raspberry Awards wrote it! Go to the pages of 28th Golden Raspberry Awards and Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Screen Combo to see that's the way they written it. You have to take it up with them. 02:35, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
That doesn't mean you have to put the joke into the Wikipedia article. You don't see that in other award templates where the website for the award makes a joke. Just don't restore it and there's no problem. Sundayclose (talk) 02:40, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
The only thing in the template about Lindsay Lohan is her name and the name of the movie that she "won" for. 02:52, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
Please take a few seconds to look at this version of the template that you wrote. The name of the film is not "as the yang to her own yin". Now just leave it out and move on and we're fine. I'm not going to continue arguing. Sundayclose (talk) 02:57, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]
I don't want to continue arguing either, but I didn't create that joke. When I created the template, I just copied what was on the page. I've should've taken it out before and after I posted it. I'm sorry, that was my mistake! 03:05, 29 January 2020 (UTC)
No problem. Thanks for getting my point. Sundayclose (talk) 03:06, 29 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like you're adding sources with the incorrect URLs for these. Please make sure the article you cite actually mentions the win or nomination. Stub templates

[edit]

I've noticed a lot of edits from you today which consisted solely of moving the stub template, in an article that already had one, from after the category declarations to a new spot before the category declarations. Please note that per WP:TAGSTUB, this is incorrect — the stub notice goes after the categories, not before them. Bearcat (talk) 18:40, 13 September 2020 (UTC)[reply]

cat-sorting via pipe

[edit]

Hi, I just wanted to let you know why I reverted your edit here. The wikitext [[Category:George Martin| ]] causes the article in which it is placed to be sorted as a null value in the applicable category; in this case, that means in Category:George Martin it will be placed at the very top on the category page, which is what we want when the article is the main article that corresponds to the category, as here.

When changed to [[Category:George Martin]], without the pipe, it will be listed under its ordinary sorting. That would be under "G" (for "George Martin"), except where there is a template like the {{DEFAULTSORT:Martin, George}} as here, which will have it sorted under "M" (for "Martin. George").

But we don't want either of those; it makes the main article get lost in the list. Using the piped-null trick (sometime a asterisk is used instead), it goes to the very top. TJRC (talk) 21:15, 10 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I must of did it by accident. I wasn't aware of it. Sorry. 21:20, 10 October 2020 (UTC)

An article you recently created, Dallas–Fort Worth Film Critics Association Award for Best Foreign Language Film, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Film critic association awards navigational boxes

[edit]

Hi, could you please temporarily refrain from creating anymore navigational boxes for various film critic association awards and categories? The number of them being created an added to already bloated navboxes in articles is getting out of hand, and I would like to achieve some consensus on their use first. I'm talking about all the ones you've created recently in these categories. You've added six of these to Won't You Be My Neighbor alone and a whopping 15 to Cate Blanchett. Thanks. [edit]

Hey, I noticed your edits to the awards list to Better Call Saul. First of all, thank you for adding to the list, and for your contributions to the article, but I just wanted to bring some stuff up. When citing sources, don't use the "|last=" and "|first=" parameters when listing two names (example). You can simply list the names separately with "|first1=", "|first2=", "|last1=", and "|last2=". Additionally, please try to update the infobox of the article when you add more nominations (I did it for you). Lastly, try to be consistent with the rest of the article. Some use "|last=" and "|first=" parameters when citing sources, but that specific awards list uses "|author", so please try to be consistent by also using it. Anyway, thank you for the edits, just wanted to bring those things up. Some Dude From North Carolinawanna talk? 19:10, 3 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Scott Rudin

[edit]

Your undoing of my revisions were unwarranted and allegations of vandalism were offensive and not in keeping with the principles of good faith. You are clearly connected to the entertainment industry based on your history of edits and not able to be objective. My additions were all supported by citations and reliable sources. Do not do this again. EdifyingEditor (talk) 15:32, 22 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

First of all, I'm not part of the entertainment industry, I enjoy what's in the entertainment industry. Second I didn't vandalize Scott Rudin's page! I didn't add or delete words, or change a single sentence or change any facts on that page. 16:45, 22 April 2021 (UTC)

The reason why I removed the template from Bobbie Gentry, because there's only one award template listed. There probably were more templates listed before, but over time the templates were changed and were deleted from her page over time. Under the list of her awards only shows one template, giving it the false impression that there were more listed and that's why I deleted. Next time I'll give a reason. Accolades won sourcing

[edit]

Hey, thanks for updating the status of awards but if changing something from pending to won then needs a new reference as not covered by the old reference, e.g. [1]. Thanks, Indagate (talk) 07:27, 15 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @SibTower1987:, please see this again as you did same in this edit today [2], the old reference does not support the statement the show won the award, just that it was nominated, so need a new reference to verify it won. Thanks, Indagate (talk) 09:12, 4 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hey @SibTower1987:, same issue again today [3],[4],[5],[6], old reference does not support new statement of won so you are adding unsourced information, please stop and provide a new reference. Indagate (talk) 07:18, 5 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

AARP award nav boxes

[edit]

Hi. Did you get consensus for such mass additions of templates like this here? It seems WP:INDISCRIMINATE to post this AARP award nav box on every film and actor page that won it. Why just this award? Mike Allen 15:11, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The AARP Movies for Grownups Awards are over 20 years old. They also play a part in award season. Given that the award has it's own template, why it's awards doesn't. I feel this award should have it's own templates for each category. SibTower1987 (talk) 18:12, 1 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I have noticed that you often edit without using an edit summary. Please do your best to always fill in the summary field. This helps your fellow editors use their time more productively, rather than spending it unnecessarily scrutinizing and verifying your work. A tag has been placed on Category:Drama Desk Award for Wig and Hair Design templates indicating that it is currently empty, and is not a disambiguation category, a category redirect, a featured topics category, under discussion at Categories for discussion, or a project category that by its nature may become empty on occasion. If it remains empty for seven days or more, it may be deleted under section C1 of the criteria for speedy deletion.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and removing the speedy deletion tag. plicit 12:17, 21 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
