Edit reversion
[edit]Hello Shellwood,
today you reversed my edit on the article Flame Is Burning, where I changed the Russian Kiev (Киев) to the Ukrainian Kyiv (Київ).
Here's four reasons why I would like to see you reverse your reversion:
1) "Kyiv" was used in all official material of the contest
2) Kyiv is a predominantly Ukrainian-speaking area
3) Ukrainian is the only official language of Ukraine List of official languages by country and territory#U
4) The Ukrainian government calls it Kyiv https://www.kmu.gov.ua/en/news/u-kiyevi-vidbulisya-peregovori-delegacij-oboronnih-vidomstv-ukrayini-ta-velikoyi-britaniyi
Please restore my version of the article.

Susan Su
[edit]My partner’s company was doing a background check on Ms Su as she was asking for modelling jobs and found most of her credentials are fraudulent. The most major is that she claims on her social media to be a former Miss Hong Kong. She was a participant in the Miss Hong Kong Pageant but she did not place or receive any titles. This was verified after we contacted the Miss Hong Kong Association. There are other examples but this is the most glaring. Please advise or amend the entry. - @Hkbunny: Hi, I'm not an expert on the subject but I can see that the article is poorly sourced, I have added a template to the article to highlight these issues. [edit]I'm not going to hit you with a barnstar - you must have run out of space on your shelves for them - but I just wanted to doff my cap. I'm pretty new to anti-vandalism, but I've been doing it pretty intensively the last few weeks and there is no editor whose reverts I edit conflict with more often than yours. I must try to get my head around Huggle to see how you do it! Tools notwithstanding, you're a pillar of the community - there'd be a lot more crap all over Wikipedia without you. Hats off! - @Girth Summit: Hi and thank you very much for those kind words, your work here deserves recognition as well. I'm starting to look like a christmas tree with all these barnstars on me, anyway I really recommend using Huggle for any recent changes patrol. it makes things a lot easier, but one unfortunate side effect is the risk of reverting good faith edits which is always painful to experience, especially if it scares newcomers away in the process. Leadenham House
[edit]You reverted my edit to Leadenham House, the reason for which was “removal of out-of-date information”. Your reversal has now made the page once again out-of-date and factually incorrect. The out-of-date information reads: “The present owners are Peter and Henrietta Reeve (divorced). Their son James has established a VW Polo Club in the grounds. [6] In a more recent development the house is available as a wedding venue.[7][8]” I replaced it with “The present owner is Peter Reeve”. This is correct. As a result of the divorce referred to in brackets in the out-of-date entry Peter Reeve is now the sole owner of Leadenham House. The polo club referred to is not in the grounds of Leadenham House but is in the grounds of a different property that is now owned by Henrietta Reeve. My edit is therefore correct and you should undo your reversal. Wikipikitavi (talk) 18:44, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Shellwood: Thanks for explaining this. Shellwood (talk) 19:55, 13 November 2018 (UTC)
- @Shellwood: No need for your understanding... I have removed the whole section as spammy... see edit summary. This place may be a wedding venue, but is it especially notable enough to place it above the myriad of wedding venues... have any notable weddings occurred here? The owners of the house, recently past and present, are non-notable for our encyclopedia. The mention of any of the Reeves has to show their notability with articles presented to be acceptable by this encyclopedia, or multiple, reliable and independent references to show that they deserve one. Chart of the New Pages Patrol backlog for the past 6 months. |
Hello Shellwood,
- Community Wishlist Survey – NPP needs you – Vote NOW
- Community Wishlist Voting takes place 16 to 30 November for the Page Curation and New Pages Feed improvements, and other software requests. The NPP community is hoping for a good turnout in support of the requests to Santa for the tools we need. This is very important as we have been asking the Foundation for these upgrades for 4 years.
- If this proposal does not make it into the top ten, it is likely that the tools will be given no support at all for the foreseeable future. So please put in a vote today.
- We are counting on significant support not only from our own ranks, but from everyone who is concerned with maintaining a Wikipedia that is free of vandalism, promotion, flagrant financial exploitation and other pollution.
- With all 650 reviewers voting for these urgently needed improvements, our requests would be unlikely to fail. See also The Signpost Special report: 'NPP: This could be heaven or this could be hell for new users – and for the reviewers', and if you are not sure what the wish list is all about, take a sneak peek at an article in this month's upcoming issue of The Signpost which unfortunately due to staff holidays and an impending US holiday will probably not be published until after voting has closed.

[edit]I submitted an article request on November 12, but in the categories section on my pending article it says: "AfC submissions by date/12 November 2018" and "AfC pending submissions by age/2 days ago". NPR Newsletter No.16 15 December 2018
[edit]Hello Shellwood,
- Reviewer of the Year
This year's award for the Reviewer of the Year goes to Onel5969. Around on Wikipedia since 2011, their staggering number of 26,554 reviews over the past twelve months makes them, together with an additional total of 275,285 edits, one of Wikipedia's most prolific users.
- Thanks are also extended for their work to JTtheOG (15,059 reviews), Boleyn (12,760 reviews), Cwmhiraeth (9,001 reviews), Semmendinger (8,440 reviews), PRehse (8,092 reviews), Arthistorian1977 (5,306 reviews), Abishe (4,153 reviews), Barkeep49 (4,016 reviews), and Elmidae (3,615 reviews).
Cwmhiraeth, Semmendinger, Barkeep49, and Elmidae have been New Page Reviewers for less than a year — Barkeep49 for only seven months, while Boleyn, with an edit count of 250,000 since she joined Wikipedia in 2008, has been a bastion of New Page Patrol for many years.
See also the list of top 100 reviewers.
- Less good news, and an appeal for some help
The backlog is now approaching 5,000, and still rising. There are around 640 holders of the NPR flag, most of whom appear to be inactive. The 10% of the reviewers who do 90% of the work could do with some support especially as some of them are now taking a well deserved break.
- Really good news - NPR wins the Community Wishlist Survey 2019
At #1 position, the Community Wishlist poll closed on 3 December with a resounding success for NPP, reminding the WMF and the volunteer communities just how critical NPP is to maintaining a clean encyclopedia and the need for improved tools to do it. A big 'thank you' to everyone who supported the NPP proposals. See the results.
- Training video
Due to a number of changes having been made to the feed since this three-minute video was created, we have been asked by the WMF for feedback on the video with a view to getting it brought up to date to reflect the new features of the system. Please leave your comments here, particularly mentioning how helpful you find it for new reviewers.

Bahaii faith and Holy Church (Banal na Iglesia)
[edit]Hi, didn't know how to add after Bahaii Faith the Holy Church (Banal na Iglesia) section Holy Church is a registered with Security Exchange Commissions of the country to prevent others of claiming against the Holy Church. Holy Church or Banal na Iglesia in native language is not the associated with the Roman Catholic Church although the teachings were based from Jesus era. The article (subject for further editing) From the beginning of time, Our God in Heaven has been communicating with mankind and sending someone to communicate The Holy Trinity - the First Person, God the Father sent Moises to communicate and gave us the 10 commandments, and introduced Yahweh. Then, the Second Person, son of God - Jesus was sent to lead us back to the God the Father and left us with the Holy Spirit. Jesus revised the 10 commandments of God into 2 laws only. From Jesus time to the present, the Third Person of the Trinity, the Holy spirit has been with us. Similar to Bahaii faith, the New Jerusalem is not a place but the Holy Spirit (Am-Um-Am, Mistika ng Langit) in flesh here on earth as a Man and in Spirit as a Woman. This revelation of Holy Spirit was in Dec 7, 1985 to a large group of believers that have faith and believe on Him. This is very difficult to accept however, the conscience will dictate if this is true or not. This is one secret of God that was not written nor prophecised. The 2 laws of Jesus has modified into a single law - "Love God above all and do whatever your conscience tells you to do". The purpose of the Holy Spirit for man is to ask the believers to change their ways of live and follow their conscience which is the part of Holy Spirit that has been given to every man so man can return the soul clean when he dies.
I cannot provide any references as explained, this was not prophecised but considering you have published the Bahaii faith from which, what proof neither exist, I believe you can allow this article to be published.
There are more teachings but this will be in a separate article I intend to publish about the Holy Spirit and New Jerusalem alone. You may delete the sentences about the request — Preceding unsigned comment added by SergioP1960 (talk • contribs) 06:12, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
Neandertal Cranial Capacity
[edit]Contemporaries anatomically modern humans to Neanderthals had larger cranial capacities and adjusted cranial capacities. See https://royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/full/10.1098/rspb.2013.0168, http://syslearn.oregonstate.edu/instruction/anth/smith/TimeMach1984.pdf. Thus it is not true that Neanderthals had larger brain sizes than modern humans. The correct statement would be, both Upper Paleolithic modern humans and Neanderthals had larger brains than 21st century humans.
The earlier user was making a statement not found in the article (which I orignally cited many months back). 64.250.92.143 (talk) 19:34, 19 December 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you for explaining this. The best(and correct) thing to do would be to add these references to the article when changing statements in it. Shellwood (talk) 19:46, 19 December 2018 (UTC)

somalis enslaving each other
[edit]Somalis had a Xeer system (unwritten law) that forbade slavery. They live in a society predicated on group trust. Hence, why even foreigners frequent their xawalas). Honour is a big part of being Somali as well and colonials would not have written about their over confidence if it was so. They lived in rather socially egalitarian societies and did not believe in hierarchies, nor were they the type to obey them. Few Somalis enslaved non-Somalis but never their own. They would rather kill them instead. Somalis never enslaved each other. Even when tribes fought each other, the prisoners of war were not to be enslaved nor Somalis ever used each other as concubines. This was all forbidden thanks to our Xeer system which pre-date Islam.
In fact, Somalis were considered Hurr meaning free, the unenslavable race. Slavery against Somalis was illegal and was declared punishable as piracy.

Query
[edit]Is Huggle Faster than Twinkle? I always get edit conflicted with Huggle whenever I revert Vandalism.--Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 20:37, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Thegooduser: (talk page stalker) Often yes, as with huggle it is as simple as a button press to revert an edit and the problematic edits are automatically loaded for you (whereas with twinkle you have to go to the history of a page, then click revert as well as noticing the problem). Dreamy Jazz 🎷 talk to me | my contributions 21:01, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
@Thegooduser: I have to agree with what Dreamy Jazz said, but if you are watching a particular article's revision history while it is being spammed live nothing beats rollback. Shellwood (talk) 21:36, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- Is Huggle Confusing to use?--Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 21:37, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Thegooduser: No it's very easy to handle and I recommend it. Shellwood (talk) 21:40, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- How do you "Log out" of Huggle, when you are done? --Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 21:43, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Thegooduser: System -> Exit. Shellwood (talk) 21:44, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- Does HG work for Private Window?--Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 21:54, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Thegooduser: Im sorry but I have no idea about that, perhaps the people here can help you. Shellwood (talk) 21:58, 23 December 2018 (UTC)
- Ah,Shit. I just used rollback by accident on Huggle, OPPS! If I screw up once more I might be blocked...--Thegooduser Let's Chat 🍁 22:00, 23 December 2018 (UTC)

WWE Women's Championship page
[edit]Shellwood, I was simply attempting to fix the table on the page. The History section should not be IN the table like it was. someone else screwed up the page when they added the WWE Women's Tag Team Championship Section. I did not know you could revert to a previous version or I would've done that first. Thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kevo923 (talk • contribs) 13:25, 25 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Kevo923: Thanks for explaining this, I have fixed it now. Shellwood (talk) 13:28, 25 December 2018 (UTC)

Support vote
[edit]Why is your opinion of support more important than my opinion? You deleted my vote. It probably is but why delete mine? I got some notice that two people were editing at the same time and what edit did I want. I checked the circle for what I had just written. What did I do so I "don't do that again"? Eschoryii (talk) 15:34, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Eschoryii: My vote is not more important than yours but you did this: [4] Shellwood (talk) 15:36, 28 December 2018 (UTC)
- So I deleted your vote and substituted my own. It was not intentional and I am sorry. Eschoryii (talk) 15:49, 28 December 2018 (UTC)

I noticed some of the vandals tonight have been unpleasant towards you. Please accept some Wikilove and know that you're appreciated. Ifnord (talk) 04:45, 29 December 2018 (UTC) |
- @Ifnord: Thanks a lot for the barnstar, this is very kind. Shellwood (talk) 04:59, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
- All we have is each other, the vandals will never say, "Thank-you!" Ifnord (talk) 05:00, 29 December 2018 (UTC)
- @Ifnord: True, but you get used to this kind of behaviour while sitting in the trench. Shellwood (talk) 13:50, 31 December 2018 (UTC)

Watts homicide edits
[edit]Can you please explain to me why you are interpreting my edits as vandalism? I'm removing a piece of the article that attempts to contextualize a phenomenon with irrelevant racialism. Please explain. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 73.112.82.73 (talk) 02:33, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- You removed large parts of sourced content without giving any explanations. If you think that something is out of place then make an edit summary along with your edit to explain your actions, otherwise things look very suspicious. Shellwood (talk) 02:43, 2 January 2019 (UTC)

Edit warring
[edit]Hello Shellwood, I would like to express my regret for neglecting the rules of Wikipedia such as not being able to revert to my own revisions for more than 3 times; however, I cannot neglect the show of discriminatory acts regarding adding Greek translations. Despite that, thank you for your time. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 32rh.h. (talk • contribs) 04:30, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
- @32rh.h.: It is not discriminatory and I'm sad that you feel it that way. But we don't add languages that are not local to the subject in the lead section. There would be no place for a Japanese or Arabic translation in that article either. Shellwood (talk) 04:35, 2 January 2019 (UTC)
