Welcome!

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. We as a community are glad to have you and thank you for creating a user account! Here are a few good links for newcomers:

Yes some of the links appear a bit boring at first, but they are VERY helpful if you ever take the time to read them.

Remember to place any articles you create into a category so we don't get orphans.

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, please be sure to sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~) to produce your name and the current date, or three tildes (~~~) for just your name. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Again, welcome.

Redwolf24 The current date and time is 23 November 2024 T 18:28 UTC.

P.S. I like messages :-P

Tornado Drive

[edit]

Tornado Drive to file-sharing websites, but it was declined due to sharing not legal content? What is meant by sharing not legal content. All of the file-sharing websites let users share any type of content. And i haven't noticed any by tornadodrive.

Most important is that file sharing is not only P2P-networks, but also webservices like Tornado Drive. (Elmagnon 04:04, 18 January 2006 (UTC))[reply]

I uploaded a new version of the cover of the New Found Glory DVD, if that's alright with you. I got rid of the DVD case around it and the dust in the corners, and I also adjusted the colors to look more like the original. HarryCane 12:37, 25 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for participating in Wikiproject New Jersey. In an attempt to create articles for some of the non-existing pages related to New Jersey, NJCOTW was recently created to bring members of WP:NJ together to work collaboratively on a certain selected topic, which this week is List of Governors of New Jersey. Please help by nominating/voting/commenting on articles on WP:NJCOTW, or by helping to improve articles in the scope of the topic for the NJCOTW. AndyZ 00:48, 8 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Cover for Rise Against's new abum

Image Tagging for Image:Cartel_band.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Cartel_band.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

I'm sorry if the summary made no sense. I had no idea what to put there and I've been scorned for making edits w/o a summary. It makes me look like a vandal and I was trying to fix vandalism on this article so sorry for confusion. Fableheroesguild 04:54, 10 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

New Found Glory picture

[edit]

I took the new image (Image:Newfoundgloryy.jpg) from the New Found Glory because it didn't have sufficient copyright information (which the old one (Image:New Found Glory.jpg) had), not because it's not a promotional photo. I couldn't care less if someone put a newer picture in the article (even though I don't see the point, given there has been no line-up or stylistic changes in the band), as long as the copyright status is OK. However, your copying my fair use rationale from the old image and signing with my name is a Wikipedia policy violation, and I will have you know that I am going to report you for that. Have a good day, HarryCane

Report he did, and you earned youself a 24 hour time out. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 19:58, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yo dude, I realize that copying/pasting the copyright info from the old picture wasn't what I should have done. I apologize for that. To be honest, I didn't read the copyright info and just put it in there without even looking at it because I figured it would be a suitable since it's just another New Found Glory promotional photo.
Realize something else though, you need to calm down sometimes. I've seen a lot of what you put on Wikipedia and most of the time you are too quick to revert people's edits (this is not referring to the above) without discussing it first. You act like you "control" an article. As a result you always try to be nasty about it in the edit summaries. And with this, whether or not you think it, you're being pretty nasty by saying "Have a good day," which to me sounds like "you're fucked".
Anyways, I'm not going to get into this anymore. You can control your articles, I'm not even going to attempt to help out with them. sharpdust 17:18, 13 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Coming Home track listing

[edit]

Would you mind telling me why you deleted the track listing from the Coming Home article? Most of the songs you keep replacing it with are no more confirmed than the track listing that was posted on AP.net. I see where you're coming from, but would it really hurt to post a tentative track listing instead of a random collection of probably incorrect song names? --HarryCane 20:04, 6 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

What is up now is not a random collection of incorrect song names. In the latest NFG bio by Geffen, they state a lot of the song names [2] (also see MTV article: [3]). I consider both of those links to be legit sources. Whereas, the AP article [4] states in the title "rumored tracklisting" and it was submitted by some random person who could have just pulled the remaining 3 tracks out of nowhere.
My bad, I didn't notice the bio thing. I thought they were just random names picked up by someone at a show or something, since it wasn't referenced. You're right then. Sorry. --HarryCane 10:41, 7 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Adam Goucher.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Adam Goucher.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this file yourself, then there needs to be a justification explaining why we have the right to use it on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you did not create the file yourself, then you need to specify where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the file also doesn't have a copyright tag, then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 16:05, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Less Than Jake promo photo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Less Than Jake promo photo.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShadowHalo 17:47, 12 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Americans Abroad!!! Against Me!!! Live In London!!!.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Unspecified source for Image:CartelChroma.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CartelChroma.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 08:44, 1 June 2007 (UTC). Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 22:05, 29 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed deletion of Cartel (band)

The article Cartel (band) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

unremarkable band, lacks coverage in 3rd party sources.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

I have nominated Cartel (band), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Cartel (band). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
