Hello, ShakespeareFan00. You have new messages at Banaticus's talk page.

Hello ShakespeareFan00,

The aforementioned media mention for a source: "I took this photo at Drake Jensen's Christmas show in December 2012". So, how is it possible that the exact same picture has been used in a magazine in April 2012? See for yourself here.

Can Eagle65ca explain this? I will ask for this file to be deleted on Wikimedia Commons immediately.

I don't know how you operate on enwiki for this types of matter, but I guess that the user should be warned for this kind of behavior. I leave it under your hands.

Best regards,

--AntonierCH (talk) 20:57, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

If it's copyvio on Commons, then it should also be CSD's as F9 here. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 20:59, 1 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The note in the file's metadata is a type. It was 2011, not 2012. I also provided the photo to Wayves Magazine, specifically to the author of the article, Mr Randall Perry. I can put you in touch with him, or you may look him up directly, for confirmation. I can also provide proof that the NAC show was in fact December 2011, by providing copies of contracts and correspondence. Therefore, it is not a copyright violation since, as I've stated, I took the photo myself. I own the copyright. Eagle65ca (talk) 15:47, 3 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, i got a message saying that you requested the file "Rear view of the Kedarnath Temple.jpg" for speedy deletion. Please tell me the reason for this request. I don't find any reasons for deletion. Please go through the image description. Kiranmadhu.e (talk) 12:22, 24 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I'm sad to see you leaving, but thanks for all the good work that you've done to help Wikipedia.

Regarding the photo on article Shrinivas Kulkarni

[edit]

Someone higher up then my level, verified that creator and the current copyright owner both have released the files for wikipedia according to the requirements. I am afraid I do not have a record of that action, but I could dig up the original release e-mails that satisfied whoever restored the photos and modified file, if you are concerned. Otherwise, please remove the alerts on the photo file please. Smallshrine (talk)Smallshrine 05:26, 31 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am pleased that you were able to find the original release e-mails, but it would be helpful if you could indicate the specific image concerned.

Hi Shakespearefan. Before tagging a file for deletion, you might want to check if the data was vandalized before you got there (see diff).

Thanks for giving me a sip of nostalgia, though. I uploaded that picture almost 10 years ago! :-) Cheers, Manifestation (talk) 11:23, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, what da ya know, this image actually *can* be deleted now. I found a better version and uploaded it: File:Mozilla boxing.jpg. Cheers, Manifestation (talk) 12:11, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I'm going to consider this a {{db-g7}} request, Manifestation. Primefac (talk) 12:20, 16 March 2018 (UTC) (talk page stalker)[reply]
Thanks, Primefac, for the swift response. Cheers, Manifestation (talk) 12:23, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Permission to use Migav_logo_en.jpg

[edit]

Hello,

Why did ask for speed deletion of https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Migav_logo_en.jpg

This is the new logo of this organism: http://www.misgav.org.il/objDoc.asp?PID=478377&OID=722555&DivID=1 The page show the required license : This work is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 4.0 International License

Background story; The spokesman of the Misgav Regional Council ask me how to update their Logo at Wikipedia, this is what I did.

What more is needed ? Bernard Sfez (talk) 05:19, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Bernard Sfez: , Wikipedia can't use Non-Commerical licenses. Either the logo will have to be under "fair use" rules or you will need to provided prove that the licenses has been updated to one without the non-commerical clause.ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 08:07, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries

[edit]

Hello there - would it be possible to add an edit summary describing the changes you are making? It would be much less time-consuming than viewing what changes have been made to file changes by checking every diff. Thank you. Jon Kolbert (talk) 09:21, 18 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Merle Temkin page images

[edit]

Hello, I received notifications for messages from you, but didn't see them on my Talk page. I would like to ensure that I uploaded the Merle Temkin images properly, but because I can't see your comments, am not clear on what I may have done incorrrectly. I would appreciate your help. I did have some trouble changing the image pages from fair-use claims after I discovered that public domain versions of them were available. Mianvar1 (talk) 11:29, 20 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Mianvar1: You don't need to worry, or do anything. I removed the notifications when I figured that you'd in good faith put a {{cc-zero}} on what should have been an {{information}} block. Updating this solved the issue, and so the notifications were removed as they no longer applied.

Re a query

[edit]

It is new research. It would be very good to publish it on wikiversity, although I don't really know how to do it.

The papers I reference are not Open Access.

Treasure of Sierra Madre image

[edit]

I'm new to this - why isn't the image I uploaded from Wizard available at Wiki Commons? Can you help?

File:Treasure_of_the_Sierra_Madre_-_1948_movie_BW_still_photo.jpg — Preceding unsigned comment added by CerroFerro (talkcontribs) 19:10, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@CerroFerro: Because Wikimedia Commons doesn't accept Non-free images I would expect. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:13, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I got the image off IMDb at this site: https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0040897/ Did I improperly identify this as a Non-free image, or does Wiki Commons generally accept material from IMDb? --CerroFerro (talk) 19:26, 29 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Graham87: Thanks for the headsup. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:06, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Graham87: - Was this reasonable? https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Wikipedia:Recent_additions/2012/May&diff=prev&oldid=834238113 or does it also need reverting? ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 17:16, 4 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I think it's fine, because it's a usage of the file, not just a link to it. Graham87 03:55, 5 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hello there. I received an alert that "Orphaned non-free image File:Tillsammans.jpg" was about to be deleted because you thought it was orphaned. Hi. Can you rename a file for me? It is the one at https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/File:Cartoon_by_Marguerite_Martyn_portraying_Ethel_Kermit_Roosevelt_guarding_the_door_to_Theodore_Roosevelts_room.jpg#Summary. The name of the file should be "Edith Roosevelt" and not "Ethel Kermit Roosevelt." I have already changed the file description. Sorry for the confusion. I don't understand why you are flagging Australian images for which the copyright has expired.
The images are NOT being used under a non-free content criteria. Please explain why you think they are.

Non-free rationale for File:3RAR-1950-P01813.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:3RAR-1950-P01813.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 14:11, 6 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Please slow down

[edit]

I saw some of your F5 nominations through watching Diannaa's page, which was surprising in and of itself. I have checked five images you've nominated and four of them were simply removed from the article. I highly suggest that going forward you actually check to see why a non-free image has ceased being used before nominating it for deletion. It will save admins and other watchers like myself a lot of hassle further down the line. Primefac (talk) 13:53, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

More specifically what was the point of this edit, which has no explanation for your removal, followed by tagging it for deletion as an orphan? CHRISSYMAD ❯❯❯¯\_(ツ)_/¯ 15:00, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Chrissymad:, It was added, and then I realised it was a specifc program in that strand not a generic logo, However you are right there wasn't an edit summary. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 15:03, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the Stephen Boxer image

[edit]

I've looked for a free replacement on Google Images under advanced search, and there was none to be seen, so would that mean I could keep up the image I posted? It's important as it shows visitors what the actor currently looks like. (VolseniMack (talk) 18:30, 13 April 2018 (UTC)) — Preceding unsigned comment added by VolseniMack (talkcontribs) 18:26, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Edit: Actually, user Theo's Little Bot(I don't know if I should have made a proper citation for users so sorry in advance) has lowered the resolution of the image this topic is about. Could we use that instead? (VolseniMack (talk) 18:37, 13 April 2018 (UTC))[reply]

@VolseniMack: If you think it meets NFCC , then I would not necessarily oppose it's use. However, there would be people on Wikipedia that would argue that as the actor is still alive, a 'free' replacement could be created, negating WP:NFCC use. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 19:22, 13 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Well, that depends, is it free to use if it's from the IMDb website? (VolseniMack (talk) 18:12, 17 April 2018 (UTC))[reply]

No. Primefac (talk) 18:23, 17 April 2018 (UTC) (talk page stalker)[reply]

Alright, I'll just use the version of the image Theo's Little Bot made. Unless the edited version is still considered a non-free image?(VolseniMack (talk) 17:33, 19 April 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Just realized the image Theo's Little Bot made smaller is actually the same image I posted. Sorry (VolseniMack (talk) 17:47, 19 April 2018 (UTC))[reply]

Going to fill in parts of Image Summary that were answered with n.a. and post the image on the wiki page (VolseniMack (talk) 18:03, 19 April 2018 (UTC))[reply]

That file wasn't orphaned. It is used in the Philippine Stock Exchange article. Please explain why did you place a template of CSD F5 there. ITSQUIETUPTOWN talkcontribs 05:26, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Itsquietuptown: - It is NOW, because someone restored it after it was tagged (https://wiki.riteme.site/w/index.php?title=Philippine_Stock_Exchange&type=revision&diff=836289248&oldid=835897125). ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 07:18, 14 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

I have reverted the edit as the logo was added by a sock of the blocked Martini Lewis X (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log), thus it should be considered a null edit that should be reverted. Also, it's a JPG and can be better presented as a PNG (and the user has continually ignored the advice to upload PNGs instead when they were not blocked); there's also an image already with the same logo. Template:PD-Australia

[edit]

Hi. There's no Template:PD-Australia/doc. Can you tell me what the "restored" in {{PD-Australia|restored}} means, and what it does? Thanks in advance, Pdfpdf (talk) 10:20, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

(BTW, while I'm here: There's no Template:PD-AustraliaGov/doc either. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 10:20, 16 April 2018 (UTC) )[reply]

@Pdfpdf: - It means that the file was still copyright in the US, due to it still being in copyright in Australia at the URAA date (1st January 1996). ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 10:37, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Pdfpdf (talk) 10:44, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
That said, I've recently been trying to add {{Non-free use rationale biog}} to relevant images when found. It is of course silly that the US doesn't accept shorter term on stuff that whould have expired in Australia several years ago. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 10:47, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
So to clarify, the "restored" doesn't actually cause the template to "do" anything - it's just documenting a situation? Pdfpdf (talk) 11:41, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
It changes what's displayed in the template's lower portion, and the categorisation. ShakespeareFan00 (talk) 11:42, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmm. (Not very observant, am I!) Thanks. Cheers, Pdfpdf (talk) 12:00, 16 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]
