Paula Broadwell

[edit]

Hi. Unless there's been recent confirmation, I believe the word "alleged" is appropriate. Although the general admitted to an affair, neither he nor anyone else has confirmed that the affair was with Paula Broadwell. I'm fairly new to wikipedia and won't revert your change, but I think it might get some attention from other editors, unless you think it's worth discussing it on the article's talk page. Gmporr (talk) 08:58, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm. My bad. Looks like perhaps the FBI is confirming it. Gmporr (talk) 09:04, 11 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

ANI

[edit]

Hello. There is currently a discussion at WP:ANI regarding an issue with which you may have been involved. The thread is User North8000 disruptive talk page editing at talk:Homophobia. Thank you. - MrX 20:06, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Seb, I usually respect your contributions but I don't see how this restoration is at all helpful. I won't engage in an edit war but I'm at a loss to see how that material is conducive to a calm, constructive discussion at AN/I. Kim Dent-Brown (Talk) 11:25, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
If you really think that's a rationale, then you should go ahead and purge the archives of most of North's comments. Simply because you don't see it that way or it isn't your style of arguing doesn't mean you can simply erase the comments. That's exactly the issue here: Somebody has been inflaming the whole thing since March (at least) and is now asking for "reason" and a "calm discussion". Where were you and your block buttons then? Did you do anything about that? Now suddenly it's everybody else who needs to be reprimanded? Naw, seriously. Admins failed this case completely and waited until the pot boils over. Now it's the pot's fault. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 11:31, 17 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I hope it's okay to ask a question not immediately connected to Wikipedia. I'm trying to learn how to typeset in Navajo and have downloaded Times New Roman Navajo, which has the special characters; however, I'd like to use unicode characters, so it doesn't matter what font I use. I'm on a Mac using OS 10.7.5 and working with MS Word and InDesign. I can't seem to find a downloadable Navajo keyboard online. Any advice would be gratefully appreciated. Best, Uyvsdi (talk) 20:39, 16 November 2012 (UTC)Uyvsdi[reply]

Well... I built my own on a PC. There are some online, but I'm not into Mac at all. Be aware that there are no real Navajo fonts for Unicode; hooked A is not available in Unicode. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 23:07, 16 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks. Hope they develop the unicode soon! -Uyvsdi (talk) 23:58, 16 November 2012 (UTC)Uyvsdi[reply]

Re Talk:United States presidential_election, 2012#Rounding up percentages

[edit]

Could you clarify what you meant by "There is consensus for the currently deployed method"? [1] Do you mean the alleged 'precedent' (for which we've been given no evidence) which involves double-rounding, or the mathematically-correct single rounding method that the overwhelming consensus of those taking part in the discussion supported - your closure is ambiguous. AndyTheGrump (talk) 23:53, 20 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Oh ok. I thought it was obvious... I meant the consensus in the discussion. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 00:58, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

I saw your comment. Thanks for letting me know. I removed that reference. You may not have seen this comment posted by AndyTheGrump in the same thread. And also this one on someone else's talk page. Take care. --76.189.101.221 (talk) 01:25, 21 November 2012 (UTC) 04:38, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor, User:Anthonyhcole, has followed-up on AndyTheGrump's comment with this insult. Both of them of have histories of being banned from editing for personal attacks/harassment. --76.189.101.221 (talk) 02:58, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please don't misrepresent this editor. The block log contains one block (MLauba) which was promptly reverted, one block (SarekOfVulcan, June 7) which I can't understand what happened, another reverted one (SarekOfVulcan, June 9), and one actually lasting block (Samir). 4 blocks, only 1 or 2 of which was followed through on, is quite a short history. KyuubiSeal (talk) 03:05, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Kyuubi, I'm not sure why you are interjecting here as this matter has absolutely nothing to do with you. Seb is a very experienced editor and is fully capable of handling this without your assistance. I'm not sure why you are attempting to defend a bully, but that is your choice. In any case, please stay out of this. You apologized to me in another talk page for making some false allegations, and I told you I appreciated it. So let's leave it at that. Thanks. --76.189.101.221 (talk) 03:29, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Note that this IP troll has still refused to provide the slightest evidence for the supposed 'precedent', as repeatedly requested, and seem to be trying to divert attention from this by posting nonsense like this on multiple users' talk pages... AndyTheGrump (talk) 03:35, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
"Seb is a very experienced editor and is fully capable of handling this without your assistance." Excuse me? At no point did I ever suggest that I doubted his experience, nor that I am attempting to belittle him. I'm just interjecting because I've gotten tired of your attempts to get AndyTheGrump into trouble, which seem to have passed on to Anthony too. This passive-aggressiveness needs to stop. (Also, it has as much to do with Seb as it does with me, so that point doesn't hold water) KyuubiSeal (talk) 03:42, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Note that in contravention of talk page guidelines, the IP troll is now editing his/her posts after they have been responded to: [2]. I'm sure I've seen this behaviour before, if only I could put a name to it... AndyTheGrump (talk) 04:46, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
First, this is Seb's talk page. Therefore, my intitial comment, which is what I edited and added a new time stamp to, was to Seb and no one else. As anyone can clearly see, Seb has not responded yet, contrary your implication that he has. Second, if Seb wants to look at my edit history and block log and compare them with yours, I'd much rather have mine. Bullying, harassing, insulting and following other editors will only earn you more editing bans. --76.189.101.221 (talk) 05:05, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Who responded is irrelevant, as far as I know. (any WP:???s i should read?) And that timestamp is really easy to overlook. However, I think it was harmless. Just tag it with an "EDIT" or something next time, please. Additionally, keep in mind you've only been editing for about 20 days, while he has been editing for over two years. It's not exactly fair to compare histories. KyuubiSeal (talk) 05:13, 21 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yup - and would you care to provide the username/IP of all your previous accounts, '76...', so we can make a proper comparison? After all, you are claiming to be an experienced Wikipedian (how else would you know what 'precedent was?), and should be able to prove it easily enough...
