If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:
- Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
- Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
- Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
- Provide a new username.
To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.
Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.
Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text{{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}
at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page. Jauerbackdude?/dude. 22:25, 24 January 2025 (UTC)Speedy deletion nomination of User:Science Park Publisher/sandbox
[edit]
A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Science Park Publisher/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. You have proposed your new username as "New User Name: Marwa Karim"; I assume you just want "Marwa Karim". Your draft was a clear advertisment for the journal. Are you associated with the journal? What edits do you wish to make in the future? 331dot (talk) 00:14, 25 January 2025 (UTC) To help us respond to the request, please do the following:
- Review Wikipedia's payment disclosure and conflict of interest policies and guidelines, then explain how those apply to your block.
- Describe the types of edits you would like to make if you were unblocked.
Thank you! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 07:37, 25 January 2025 (UTC)
- Dear All,
- Yes, my new user name is "Marwa Karim".
- Yes, I am a voluntary Editor at one of the scientific journals in Science Park Publisher. I am not creating this page for advertisement but I am trying to archive about it in Wikipedia to be edited later on by other users. I am not receiving any payment for such editing or creation. It's all about voluntary work. I am also intending to start editing in Wikipedia pages about several publishing house such as Springer Nature, Wiley, Elsevier, etc...Thus, What should I do to start creating a page about Science Park Publisher legally and without violating any terms and conditions or policies in Wikipedia?
- Thanks for your understanding,
- Marwa Science Park Publisher (talk) 13:30, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- I edited your request to fix your username choice. Are you paid by the publisher in any capacity? Even if not, you have a conflict of interest. Please read that policy.
- Wikipedia is not a place for organizations to tell about themselves (or their work). That's promotional here(especially with putting the "mission" and "vision" of the organization). Wikipedia articles about organizations should summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the organization, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable organization? Our articles are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the subject. 331dot (talk) 13:42, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- Thanks for editing my username.
- No, I am not paid by the Science Park publisher by any capacity. It's all voluntary work.
- Therefore, I am asking what is the legal way to create a page about Science Park Publisher?
- Thanks,
- Marwa Science Park Publisher (talk) 22:18, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
- (Non-administrator comment) Hi, I believe that @331dot has given you most of that information in their reply, can you please confirm that you've read each of the pages you've been given links for? You've been asked to read the conflict of interest guidelines a few times now, but it doesn't look like you understand that this would fall under that category so I'm a bit concerned you haven't read it yet. I'll also add that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia, not a business directory, so it's entirely possible that your organisation is not entitled to an article - it must meet specific notability criteria depending on the subject (you are responsible for checking this whenever creating an article). You must also avoid any promotional language, which will be incredibly difficult for anyone who is involved to do. Blue Sonnet (talk) 22:27, 26 January 2025 (UTC)
