User talk:Sarawhosthere
Hello, Sarawhosthere. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Melcous (talk) 01:21, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Notice of Conflict of interest noticeboard discussion
[edit]There is currently a discussion at Wikipedia:Conflict of interest/Noticeboard regarding a possible conflict of interest incident with which you may be involved. Thank you. MarioGom (talk) 15:18, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- Thank you MarioGom, can you help me disclose my conflict of interest in the meaningful method required? Sghartman (talk) 17:48, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
- @Sghartman: Hello! If you are editing as part of your job, you should follow the paid-contribution disclosure guideline. Proper disclosure is accomplished as follows:
- Add Template:Paid in your user page, specifying employer and client and other details if it applies.
- Add Template:Connected contributor (paid) to the top of the talk page of the article you are contributing to.
- Avoid editing articles directly. You can request changes with Template:Request edit.
- If you are not paid for this editing, this would be still considered conflict of interest:
- You can disclose that in your user page too, optionally with Template:UserboxCOI.
- On talk pages of articles, use Template:Connected contributor instead of the paid version.
- The usage of the request edit template still applies.
- Additionally, note that using multiple accounts for the same person is discouraged (but not fully prohibited). That can be disclosed with Template:Alternative account. You can check the valid cases for this here. --MarioGom (talk) 19:31, 17 August 2018 (UTC)
