Dear Wikipedia Editor,
I am writing to contest the speedy deletion of Draft
Tajamul Ali Square, which has been tagged under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion. I understand the concerns about potential promotional content, but I believe that the draft can be revised to meet Wikipedia's standards for an encyclopedic article. Here are the reasons why I believe the page should not be deleted:
  1. Historical and Cultural Significance: The article focuses on Sheikh Tajmul Ali, a prominent figure in Bangladeshi history, particularly for his role in the Liberation War and his contributions to the community. The Tajmul Ali Square, named in his honor, is a reflection of his enduring impact. This subject has historical and cultural relevance, which warrants an encyclopedic entry.
  2. Potential for Encyclopedic Content: While the current draft may need revision to remove promotional elements, it contains valuable information about Sheikh Tajmul Ali's contributions and legacy. With appropriate adjustments and the inclusion of reliable, independent sources, the draft can be transformed into a neutral and informative entry. The focus will be on his achievements, historical context, and the significance of the square named after him.
  3. Reliable Sources: I will provide additional references from reliable, independent sources to substantiate the content. This will include academic articles, established news outlets, and other authoritative sources that meet Wikipedia’s standards. These sources will support the factual content and ensure the article adheres to Wikipedia's guidelines.
  4. Commitment to Improvement: I am committed to addressing the issues raised in the review and improving the draft to align with Wikipedia's standards. I will ensure that the revised content is neutral, well-sourced, and meets the criteria for an encyclopedic entry.
I appreciate the review and understand the importance of maintaining Wikipedia's quality standards. However, I believe that with the necessary revisions and additional reliable sources, the draft can be brought into compliance. I kindly request that the deletion tag be removed to allow for these improvements.
Thank you for considering this appeal. Sarabintshihab (talk) 14:05, 6 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
