Help needed with a draft you have reviewed
- Ish malhotra (talk · contribs)
Ish malhotra (talk) 05:13, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Hi, I want to re-work this draft and needed your help with that. Could you perhaps quote a statement from the article where the tone is not neutral? Similarly, it would be great if you can give some examples of peacock terms used in this draft. Lastly, I understand that some sources here should simply be removed/replaced. Could you please help me with that? Tell me which sources are not credible at all so that I remove the source or even the data if need be?Ish malhotra (talk) 05:13, 6 January 2015 (UTC)
- Eagerly awaiting your response! Ish malhotra (talk) 06:47, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
National Centre for Excellence
Hello cutest penguin, i had when as rahulmdinesh subitted National Centre for Excellence for reviewing you had accepted it. 15:45:20, 8 January 2015 review of submission by Patience62
- Patience62 (talk · contribs)
Hello, thanks for your feedback, however I have to say I am struggling to understand your reasons for decline.
I proposed the changes to an original page because previous submissions regarding proxy advisors were indeed just an advert for one firm and did not reflect the global situation nor the variations of service provision from the various participants. In this version I have attempted to be neutral by adding all industry participant names as taken from an industry association website: http://bppgrp.info Furthermore I have added balance by talking about controversy over the industry citing regulatory materials. This list of activities undertaken is a factual list also taken from the industry literature which is clearly referenced in the footnotes.
Please can you outline your concerns in more detail so that they can be addressed.
By way of reference please see this page: https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Proxy_firm which the current draft is intended to replace.
Thank you for your patience. Kind regards
Patience62 (talk) 15:45, 8 January 2015 (UTC)
- @Patience62: Your draft is more of like an advertisement and its reflecting promotional activity which is not appreciated on English Wikipedia. Well, there are several issues with your draft which includes lack of reliable sources to verify notability as well as it is requested that kindly maintain neutral point of view while contributing. — CutestPenguinHangout 15:54, 9 January 2015 (UTC)
Thank you very much for your response, however I am not sure that we are making much progress on mutual understanding. Reliable Sources: Regarding "reliable sources", the articles are from major English-speaking financial newspapers and other verifiable national sources e.g. New York Times, Footnote 9 is from the US Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) and there is a link to the US Government Accountability Office. Being financial industry regulators those two are about as high quality as is possible in financial services, why are those not acceptable? The BPP Group web site is the result of a European Securities Market Association (ESMA)regulatory review of the industry. ESMA is the European equivalent of the SEC. I am struggling to understand why these sources would not meet the criteria for a reliable sources given that they are regulators?
Neutrality: The article is balanced by the fact that there are facts which which are pro the industry and anti the industry - and these are attributed to specific sources. Could you clarify why this approach is not considered a neutral PoV?
Promotional: I am not clear why you believe it is a "promotion" to list the activities of a proxy advisor when, for example, the entry for Stockbroker also adds a list of activities https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Stockbroker In terms of the existing article on proxy firms then that is indeed little better than an advertisement as it does not mention all the global constituents and puts an undue focus on one firm. This version is balanced on the basis that all the relevant vendors are included.
I look forward to understanding your PoV better in due course, in the meantime, perhaps given the technical nature of the subject matter we should consider inviting a third party to joint the debate and review the article. I am not trying to get into an edit war, just to get to the bottom of the problem. Patience62 (talk) 17:40, 12 January 2015 (UTC)
