This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Alessandro Ferrara, and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.sensibilia.it/Ferrara.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)
This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot (talk) 08:35, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Alessandro Ferrara
[edit]A tag has been placed on Alessandro Ferrara requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Re: Alessandro Ferrara
[edit]Thanks for contacting me, Sanfr53 - allow me please to explain what is wrong.
It's not the fact that the website has no copyright, we can see that is the case. It's the fact that by copying pretty much the entire page straight from the site, you are committing Plagiarism. If you wish to write an article about this person, it must conform to our policy on Biographies of Living People and you must write it from your own words, not by using the content of a webpage someone else has prepared.
You can use it as a source for the information you write, but you mustn't copy directly from it. If you need any further help, please contact myself or an administrator. BarkingFish Talk to me | My contributions 09:48, 29 June 2010 (UTC)
File permission problem with File:Alessandro Ferrara Dublin 2013 A.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Alessandro Ferrara Dublin 2013 A.jpg, which you've attributed to An OTRS notice was applied over 60 days ago, but no message at OTRS has been processed since this tag was applied.. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.
If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Orphaned non-free image File:Alessandro Ferrara, Dublin 2008.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Alessandro Ferrara, Dublin 2008.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:02, 24 May 2023 (UTC)
- Answer:
- it was removed because I tried to change it with a more updated one, and the updated photo was removed for unknown reasons. So neither is now online. Please restore the old one, which will then stay on for ever, if it's so complicated to replace it.
- It was in the article Alessandro Ferrara, up to January 2023. Sanfr53 (talk) 11:19, 25 May 2023 (UTC)
License tagging for File:Foto Albania 2018 rit.jpeg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Foto Albania 2018 rit.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.
To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:30, 31 May 2023 (UTC)
The file File:Foto Albania 2018 rit.jpeg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not "information", but rather a photograph, which is neither Public Domain (in the US or Albania) nor freely licensed.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. — Mdaniels5757 (talk • contribs) 03:10, 25 November 2023 (UTC)
- Dear Mdaniels5757,
- Again, and again, and again... somebody comes up with questioning the image, after months during which
- this picture has been there, documenting the recent appearance of Alessandro Ferrara
- I've been freely given it 5 years ago by the occasional photographer who shot it on the occasion of a conference, I can guarantee that there is no infringement of copyright or anything of the sort.
- It updates a previous photograph of 2008 which became too outdated.
- Please leave as is and if someone ever complains I'll respond to the person.
- Best regards Sanfr53 (talk) 10:10, 27 November 2023 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, Sanfr53. I noticed that your recent edit to Alessandro Ferrara added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. - Thanks for your feedback. I'm desperate to get through the maze of these regulations in order to upload a picture! Now I secured a CC License, as required, the picture is my property,. So I tried the standard template
- “I personally created this media. All identifiable persons shown specifically consented to publication of this photograph or video”.
- Then it didn't pass review, so I obtained a CC License. What else should I do to get this picture to stay on? These rules are utterly incomprehensible. Please tell me what to do?

Speedy deletion nomination of File:Foto Albania 2018 rit.jpeg
[edit]A tag has been placed on File:Foto Albania 2018 rit.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F9 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a copyright violation and has no credible claim of fair use or permission. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use it — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Whpq (talk) 21:09, 30 March 2024 (UTC)

I wish I never did take the old away! I once provided clearance from the author of the picture and it was accepted. I wish to return to that older picture, for which I have a pdf signed by the author granting permission, but the website prevents me from uploading again that picture. What can I do? I wish I could send you via email picture and signed pdf granting permission or re-upload that picture somehow...
