This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Spade Ranch (Nebraska), and it appears to include a substantial copy of http://www.nebraskahistory.org/publish/markers/texts/spade_ranch.htm. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material; such additions will be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. CorenSearchBot 00:45, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Little context in Spade Ranch, Nebraska

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Spade Ranch, Nebraska, by another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Spade Ranch, Nebraska is very short providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Spade Ranch, Nebraska, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Feel free to contact the bot operator if you have any questions about this or any problems with this bot, bearing in mind that this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion; it does not perform any nominations or deletions itself. To see the user who deleted the page, click here CSDWarnBot 01:30, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The above article is being considered for speedy deletion because it is devoid of information. Handschuh-talk to me 16:23, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Encouragement and a bit of advice

[edit]

Sandhiller, you've done a lot of great work in fleshing out the Spade Ranch, Nebraska article. In fact, with a bit more work, I think it could get a mention on the main page. However, a couple of things still need to be done. First off, I noticed that one of the references mentioned an interview with the current owner. Unfortunately, personal interviews are not allowed under Wikipedia policy, so the information that came from that interview will have to be cited from a different source or, if that cannot be done, removed from the article. In addition, the sources cited to not provide enough information to determine where exactly they came from. Book titles, years, publishers, etc. help make sources easier to verify. If you'd like some help on the reference format to use, Wikipedia has a guide to citing source. Finally, if you have any questions, feel free to ask me. – Swid (talk · edits) 05:31, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion of Bartlett Richards

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Bartlett Richards requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the article (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thanks for uploading Image:Richards.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Calliopejen1 (talk) 17:56, 28 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not continue to re-upload images which have been deleted as a result of a copyright discussion. Unless you can demonstrate that you are the original owner of the copyright (which in this case would be the newspaper's publisher) or that the publisher has released the rights to you, then you cannot truthfully upload it and claim it as your own work. File permission problem with File:Jimlarrylawrencebixby.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jimlarrylawrencebixby.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.
