Thanks

Thanks for the Barnstar.I hope we can create more original articles. Here we can take a lot of interesting photos that would help in creating interesting articles. Thanks a lot for your marvellous edits.Without real professional touch, articles like Gastric lymphoma would have remained as stubs.--Dwaipayanc 08:11, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

Then you'll be needing one of these:

RE: Working Man's Barnstar

Hi Samir, I really appericiate the barnstar you've given me. Lots of thanks for the award. I will do my work as per normal, and I will not want anyone to nominate me for RFA yet (until July). :) --Terence Ong 14:42, 10 March 2006 (UTC)

I think he is fine, and indeed it is the contrast between what someone with a momentary interest and minimal effort brings up on him - even actual biographical details, but certainly real science - and what the serial author involved presents as the notable part of the man that is a cause for removing that article whereas a more interesting one which might in passing mention that he has done some work on Mercury and autism ("Assume Mercury causes autism." "Oh dear, the autistics excrete less Mercury" "Well, assume they can't excrete it..." not ridiculous, but some of the take-up on it is, and that does not belong in WP). Just one suggestion: in the U.S. HIPAA regulations demand that no reference to date (apart from year) can be published: http://www.casesblog.blogspot.com/2005/07/case-reports-and-hipaa-rules.html

We have many GI cases here: http://clinicalcases.blogspot.com/2005/07/gastroenterology-cases.html

If you are interested, you can collaborate by submitting ineteresting cases and images (like the one that you posted on Wikipedia), or may be better, even starting your own website...

nice use of the word man, but seriously. why delete it? Its an awsome word! join the right side, and help to preserve this article XD. everyone vote no-delete for skux today! The preceding unsigned comment was added by D4rk0 (talk • contribs) .

My RFA

Thank you for your recent vote on my RFA. While the nomination failed, I was rather expecting it due to the big lapse between registration and recent edits. I appreciate the comments you left when you voted, and I will definitely keep them in mind. If you have any other suggestions as to how I could improve as a Wikipedian, so as to hopefully succeed next time, please let me know! Thanks! —akghetto talk 07:56, 13 March 2006 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for your kind comments. I try to be as noce as I can to people. When it comes to slang, though, I think that falls under WP:WINAD, and that entries like "Trinidadian Slang" are just a means of getting around them and that ideally lists are made for categories (with certain exceptions). But the rules aren't that clear on this subject, i.e., it seems more a metter of opinion whether any one list stays or goes rather than a matter of policy. Still, since the majority consensus seems to be to keep the most of them, I don't think I will put any ,ore up for AfDs. Still, I try to be a helpful and nice as possible within the rules. And thanks so much for the barnstar! It makes a huge difference when someone appreciates your work! :) (Arundhati Bakshi (talkcontribs)) 12:20, 14 March 2006 (UTC)

WikiThanks

Thanks for your support and kind words. I don't understand some of the oppose votes as many of those editors have voted support for users who have been here for equal or lesser time and had equal or less edits. My experience with voting on Wikipedia is that people tend to be like sheep early on and go for the vote they feel most comfortable given the previous votes. Nevertheless I recognize other's viewpoints on adminship etc. Thanks again. ¡Dustimagic! (T/C) 00:54, 21 March 2006 (UTC)

pericarditis

Hey, I was actually going to do two articles on acute and chronic constrictive pericarditis, and then redirect pericarditis into those other two. Reason is pericarditis is too general and it gets confusing trying to fit both types into one article. Let me know. Meanwhile i will continue to work. —This unsigned comment was added by andrewr47 (talkcontribs) .

RfA Results and Thanks

Samir/Archive 2, thank you for supporting me in my recent RfA. Although it did not succeed as no consensus was declared (final: 65/29/7), I know that there is always an opportunity to request adminship again. If and when that day comes, I hope you will once again support me. If at any time I make any mistakes or if you would like to comment on my contributions to Wikipedia, you are more than welcome to do so. Regardless of your religious, cultural, and personal beliefs, I pray that whatever and whoever motivates you in life continues to guide you on the most righteous path.

The IIT Article

Hi Samir,

Having thought about the article for an hour without any clue on how to improve it further, I either need external comments/criticisms or a flag to go ahead with the FAC procedure. Is there anything else that we can add in the article or should we seriously think about going ahead with FAC. -Ambuj Saxena (talk) 17:40, 5 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks! feel free to edit as much as you want. I wrote it rather hastily since i'm presenting this topic tomorrow =) Andrewr47 02:43, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

I have (and it took me ages) finally found a source for the fact this book was a "number 3 best speller" - specifically it was Number 3 on Der Spiegel's non-fiction list on September 12, 2003. I have also found a reference for 100,000 sales (70,000 is the best I can get from a "primary source" i.e. a claim attributable to the publisher, but I can find a newspaper reference to cover 100,000). Both are now referenced and included in the article. I really dislike AfD vote lobbying (leaves a bad taste in the mouth!) but I thought I ought to let you know that these claims are now sourced, since this was a concern of yours. Whether or not this makes the book notable in its right is something for you to decide, I have no intention of picking a squabble over it! :) TheGrappler 17:51, 6 April 2006 (UTC)

You would love this...

Hi,

Have a look at this. Just start reading from the education section onwards. This guy has just copied the text from IIT's article and put it up on NIT's article by replacing IIT by NIT. At some places, he has even forgotton to replace the NIT by IIT. I couldn't stop laughing for full two minutes after seeing this. Even more so because 90% of that text was written by me for the IIT article.

-Ambuj Saxena (talk) 16:00, 8 April 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing out the mistakes, i'm currently seeing a UC patient so I still have a lot to learn. I have the refs for the treatment additions i made, but other than that no refs for the other stuff. I'll provide the PMIDs when i get a chance (adding the refs in the article takes a bit too long).
