National Film Award for Second Best Feature Film
[edit]Neelakuyil won the award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam (which is also a Rajat Kamal award), and not the award for Second Best Feature Film. I have reverted your edits in the page. -- Arfaz (talk) 15:29, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- No, you are wrong. I said Neelakuyil won award for the Best Feature Film in Malayalam, not the award for All-India Best Feature Film (which was won by Mirza Ghalib as you said). Regional Film Awards are Rajat Kamal (Silver Lotus) awards only. And that award was won by Veettilekkulla Vazhi this year. I hope the clarification is enough. -- Arfaz (talk) 16:01, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- See this link for confirmation. I am going to revert your edits in the page. Thanks. -- Arfaz (talk) 16:14, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
Hi! why did you Rajkumar's name in the list. He hasn't won it that many no. of times. Also the source you mentioned for Sathyan doesn't work. Did you check the prose section at the top. Awards for best actor, actress and dir were given only from 1972 for south Indian films. Pls do not make big changes without bringing it to the talk page. --Commander (Ping Me) 16:05, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
- The Malayala Manorama link doesn't seem reliable. It says Sathyan won the Filmfare Awards in 1963 and 69. But the official source says the award was instituted only at the 20th Filmfare Awards, which means from 1972 onwards. And also the Manorama link says Sathyan won a Kerala State Film Award posthumously in the year 1971. The official source does not mention it. So, I think the informations should be corrected in all related wiki pages so so that it complies with the official source. -- Arfaz (talk) 17:07, 15 June 2011 (UTC)
I have requested the page to be renamed and moved. You can support the move by beginning a new line with *'''Support'''
and explain your reasons, so that the page will be moved faster. And many thanks for your compliment. -- Arfaz (talk) 05:08, 16 June 2011 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free media (File:Kamaladalam.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Kamaladalam.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Asian 10,000 Challenge invite
[edit]Hi. The Wikipedia:WikiProject Asia/The 10,000 Challenge has recently started, based on the UK/Ireland Wikipedia:The 10,000 Challenge and Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The 10,000 Challenge. The idea is not to record every minor edit, but to create a momentum to motivate editors to produce good content improvements and creations and inspire people to work on more countries than they might otherwise work on. There's also the possibility of establishing smaller country or regional challenges for places like South East Asia, Japan/China or India etc, much like Wikipedia:The 1000 Challenge (Nordic). For this to really work we need diversity and exciting content and editors from a broad range of countries regularly contributing. At some stage we hope to run some contests to benefit Asian content, a destubathon perhaps, aimed at reducing the stub count would be a good place to start, based on the current Wikipedia:WikiProject Africa/The Africa Destubathon which has produced near 200 articles in just three days. If you would like to see this happening for Asia, and see potential in this attracting more interest and editors for the country/countries you work on please sign up and being contributing to the challenge! This is a way we can target every country of Asia, and steadily vastly improve the encyclopedia. We need numbers to make this work so consider signing up as a participant! Thank you. --Ser Amantio di NicolaoChe dicono a Signa?Lo dicono a Signa. 02:58, 21 October 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for calculation the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. RonBot (talk) 17:29, 28 June 2018 (UTC)

Hi there, re: these changes, I have removed them. We don't use primary sources (people directly involved, like producers/actors/directors/etc.) for controversial content like film finances. Anyone with even a cursory understanding of Indian film finances knows that the entire industry is prone to fabricating figures to make their accomplishments seem bigger or more interesting. That's not to say that the film did not gross 100 crore, rather that we should wait until reliable secondary sources have confirmed the information independently. Wikipedia is not a forum for the film's marketing efforts.
Additionally, Wikipedia is a neutral encyclopedia, and we should use tone appropriate to a neutral encyclopedia. We don't drool over things like the 100 crore club by describing it as "coveted". Also, we don't use slang like "rake in". We use normal professional language like "The film grossed ₹100 crore" or similar. Thank you. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 02:38, 9 April 2019 (UTC)

- List of awards and nominations received by Mohanlal page Darsith vk (talk) 18:21, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Darsith vk: 1) No, blogs are not suitable references, and for all you know that list was taken from an earlier version of Mohanlal's award article. 2) We're not here to log every award a person won. Only notable awards that people would recognise. There are hundreds of thousands of fly-by-night award mills that only exist to make money promoting actors. If Mohanlal wants to bask in the glow of winning the 2005 J. C. Foundation Award, whatever that is, he can do so in the privacy of his own home or on his own website. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 18:35, 21 May 2020 (UTC)
1.Well if you visit Kamal Hassan's page you can see a award from Fans Association. 2.Can you clarify something there is a National Film Academy Award for best actor recieved by Mohanlal for Thanmathra on the blog and on wikipedia page of Thanmathra too. I am sure he didn't won the national award that year. Can you check if there is an another award called National Film Academy Award (other than National Award) if so we can add that on his page. Darsith vk (talk) 17:13, 22 May 2020 (UTC)
- @Darsith vk: This conversation should probably be taking place on the talk page of the Kamal Hassan award article. That said, the "Film Fans Association" could be notable, but only because it seems to have existed from at least 1979s to 2008. It could also potentially not be notable. I don't know, and I don't see any Google News hits on it. I don't know whether the "National Film Academy Award" is notable. I don't see any Google News hits, and a general Google search is inconclusive. I would tend to err on the side of not notable until proven otherwise. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 03:12, 23 May 2020 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Phil Sokowicz
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Phil Sokowicz, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". Hello, I'm Deb. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you.Deb (talk) 11:22, 21 January 2022 (UTC)
I moved this article to draft because it contains external promotional links which must be removed. Please do that, then submit for review rather than moving to article space. Deb (talk) 11:24, 21 January 2022 (UTC)

The article Graand Production has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Not a major film distribution/production company to have its own page. Article is a mere copy-paste of Dileep filmography#Producer
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
This bot DID NOT nominate any of your contributions for deletion; please refer to the history of each individual page for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 09:00, 1 June 2023 (UTC)

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited College of Applied Science Vadakkencherry, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page University Grants Commission.
