If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Joseph Birdsong requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Sparthorse (talk) 06:38, 1 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image File:Fasig-Tipton logo.gif

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Fasig-Tipton logo.gif. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:06, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Replaceable fair use File:WMATA Metro Map - 2019.pdf

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:WMATA Metro Map - 2019.pdf. I noticed that this file is being used under a claim of fair use. However, I think that the way it is being used fails the first non-free content criterion. This criterion states that files used under claims of fair use may have no free equivalent; in other words, if the file could be adequately covered by a freely-licensed file or by text alone, then it may not be used on Wikipedia. If you believe this file is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the file description page and add the text {{Di-replaceable fair use disputed|<your reason>}} below the original replaceable fair use template, replacing <your reason> with a short explanation of why the file is not replaceable.
  2. On the file discussion page, write a full explanation of why you believe the file is not replaceable.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media item by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by creating new media yourself (for example, by taking your own photograph of the subject).

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these media fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per the non-free content policy. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Whpq (talk) 15:23, 30 August 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Armadillopteryx. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Heidi N Closet, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Hi there, Bartonlynch! I see you've added birth dates to a number of Drag Race contestants' pages. I've had to remove them, because you did not include an inline citation with the information. If you can provide citations, please do so. If not, please leave out the information until it can be sourced. Thanks! Armadillopteryxtalk 20:57, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add or change content, as you did at Gia Gunn, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. Armadillopteryxtalk 21:03, 5 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page stalker) Bartonlynch, I took a look at the article you submitted above, and I wanted to tell you that I think you may be able to show that the subject is notable, but you have to do that with reliable secondary sources. Please read these three policy pages to understand how this works:

Feel free to reply here or post at the Teahouse if you have any questions. Some sources about your subject that would count as reliable and secondary are here:

Please note that I did not read these articles, so it will be up to you to determine whether or not they establish your subject's notability :-) Best of luck, Armadillopteryxtalk 21:01, 6 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Johnny Sibilly

[edit]

Hello, Bartonlynch. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Johnny Sibilly".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been deleted. If you plan on working on it further and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thanks for your submission to Wikipedia, and happy editing. Liz Read! Talk! 01:15, 8 January 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Notice

The article Johnny Sibilly has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable bit part actor with lots of uncredited roles.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. scope_creepTalk 17:24, 14 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Caught by a colocation web host block but this host or IP is not a web host. My IP address is 2606:54C0:0:0:0:0:0:0/32‬. Place any further information here. Bartonlynch (talk) 20:54, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That is a confirmed proxy, despite your claim to the contrary. Most likely, this is the Apple iCloud private relay service. You need to disable your proxy and may need to wait a full 24 hours for the block to clear. Yamla (talk) 21:13, 26 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. Hello! Voting in the 2023 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 11 December 2023. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2023 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:33, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
