To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

First tasks

[edit]

SCNAGY, You have completed some of the tasks.  Partly done You just need to edit your user page and add some wikilinks to articles in Wikipedia, such as University of Southern Indiana. The tutorial, or Wikipedia:Training/For_students, should help you get started. It's very easy once you get going. Add some sections. Create some bulleted lists. Once you've edited your page your User:SCNAGY link in signature will change from red to blue. Once you've done go my user talk page at User talk:Crtew, find your section, and write me a note signed with four tildes (~). Crtew (talk) 23:23, 7 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I gave you credit for enrolling and for your user page, but you still need to learn to make links. I made one from USI by putting two brackets like this [[ at the start and two more of the end brackets after the title. Let's get together off User talk so we can figure out why you're not getting the instructions. Please contact me. Crtew (talk) 18:40, 9 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Adopt a journalist project

[edit]

Mirwwais Jalil: Articles for Creation for WikiProject Afghanistan.

You have been assigned to write about User:Crtew/Mirwais_Jalil (click this link to edit), who was an Afghani journalist.

This project is affiliated with WikiProject Journalism and WikiProject Freedom of speech and is conducted by a university course that is participating in Wikipedia:Education program. Crtew (talk) 18:24, 13 September 2013 (UTC)[reply]

The reflinks issue is solved but can you go back into that death section and do you referencing right away! Crtew (talk) 21:14, 24 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Inline citation issue

[edit]

You're not using references at all in the User:Crtew/Mirwais_Jalil article. This is dangerous as its hard to go back and be 100 percent accurate. You MUST use WP:Inline citation immediately after writing something based on a source. I've put down some templates on each section. Do not remove them. Reference your work and then let me remove them. Crtew (talk) 22:29, 28 October 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia Article

[edit]

Your Wikipedia article was very informative. However, I felt that it was very descriptive instead of just being factual. Also, there was no picture, but other than that, it was pretty good. I would just change the wording, so that it is just stating the facts, instead of creating a story out of it. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tlgenders (talkcontribs) 21:47, 9 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Article Review

[edit]

Overall, great article. However, the Context section needs something; maybe go a little further about the country in which Jalil mainly worked in. I enjoyed you Reactions section because you included how the groups used media to create propaganda and that reading materials were cheaper because of the expanded mass market. Also in that section, you might want to delete "stuff" (in the very last line). It sounds very informal. Mkclements1 (talk) 18:32, 11 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Can you see me during office hours and we can go in and try to fix your sourcing together! Crtew (talk) 05:47, 12 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please come to my office hours and see me. I have worked with a few other students and shown them how to fix/improve things. One on one help is probably best. Also, do not submit. I have reverted you, but the article will surely be rejected as is. Crtew (talk) 04:53, 17 November 2013 (UTC)[reply]
