Unsure of what to do
Another user and I have been deleting possible fan-made information in images as well as long loading animations from pages that are mainly worked on by a single user. Reverts to our changes have been done in the past, and most recently, a couple of pages that I did edits on were reverted by the user today. What do I do now?
- The usual procedure after you find that your change has been reverted:
- Talk to the user who reverted and have a discussion on the article's talk page
- Investigate Wikipedia:Resolving disputes.
- As explained at Wikipedia:Resolving disputes, you might like to get a mediator.--Commander Keane 22:56, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
Want to Help Prevent Future Vandalism
I've been noticing that a user (or group of users) has been spamming links into various articles on MMORPGs for their [www.igsky.com website]. It hasn't been constant, but the intermittent insertion of the advertisement into the external links section is annoying and probably illegal in terms of the games' companies' user agreement. I recently assisted in getting an actual article for the website deleted, but after seeing the MascotGuy page, I realized that a similar action can be taken against this Igsky (talk · contribs). As of now, he's only used sockpuppet IPs in various articles, that have been blocked before. The situation hasn't occured within a couple of weeks, but such an extended line of vandalizations should require some action against him. Ryulong 04:29, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- Ahh, quick look with your link fix of the user's contributions. Don't sweat, a good editor can remove those links and move on. The user hasn't made an edit since May 5. Teke 04:40, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- It's not just that he hasn't made an edit since May 5. It's just that there have also been a truckload of IP address users that have done the same thing as him. You can go into the history of any MMORPG's article and find an edit to the External Links section that inserts a link to the Igsky website. The user just made an account to further advertise the site, which ended up as the site that I put on the AfD. I know that there will be further edits to the articles that will be in the same vein. I will put something up on the Noticeboard, to see if anything could possibly be done. Ryulong 04:46, 31 May 2006 (UTC)

- Hi there. What you seem to be describing is disruptive editing, which is not vandalism. Post your complaint on the Administrator's Noticeboard on Incidents if you want real action taken. As advice, I'd say just remove the links per Wikipedia's Spam Policy. Be bold in editing! Contanct me if you need any other help! Teke 04:35, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
Xiaolin Showdown "Season 4"
What the hell is up with everyone and their mother adding this "Lord Serpaneros" or whatever he is called to every single Xiaolin Showdown article? Ryulong 20:12, 31 May 2006 (UTC)
- The same thing as people adding their own made up Wu to and Wu combos to the articles. For better or worse, XS inspires creativity. Personaly, I think there will be a season 4 to bring the total number of episodes up to 65, which is a fairly standard number for syndication purposes, but they're waiting to see if need to make 13 episodes or 10 or 11 plus an OVA-style movie. Instead of "rv," type "rv 8:24 7 Jun version" or "rv last version by username," something that lets others identify what version it is. Thanks. 65.115.176.43 20:18, 7 June 2006 (UTC)

Requesting assistance in what to do next
I've been monitoring the article Xiaolin Showdown, and it appears that the only edits from users in this range of IP addresses is constantly putting external links into the External Links section that have been discussed on the talk page and in edit summaries to be deleterious to the article. Two of them are non-notable fan pages, and a third is an MSN Users Roleplaying Group for the TV show. I've been tagging the IPs' talk pages with {{spam}} templates, increasing in warning level with each time I notice the IP range edits the links into the article. I don't know how to list these for administrative review. Ryulong 01:55, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
I'll look into it. --Pilot|guy 01:57, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. Oh, and I've realized that the IP addresses are AOL IPs (I have done WHOISes on them), but I don't think that should be a factor when the only edits from users in this IP range are those links into the external links section. Ryulong 01:58, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Hi Ryulong. I'm an admin and am now watching Xiaolin Showdown. I will warn/block IP's that continue with the link spam. In the mean time please continue to warn the IP's, explaining that their efforts are fruitless as we can easily remove their spam.--Commander Keane 02:05, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I don't think that the warnings are doing any good. The IP address changes each day (sometimes twice in a day, one time it was many edits to one IP), so I don't think the message is being reached. This is why I want help with this, as it's a long-term link spamming abuse. Ryulong 02:08, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- I haven't noticed any spam edits yet (since the last one a few hours ago), but if the problem continues as you say I might semi-protect the article for a while, to prevent all IP's from editing the article. The problem is just the one article that you know of?--Commander Keane 03:50, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- This is one of two articles that I've been keeping two separate sets of non-notable external links out of. The other article now isn't as bad, though, because I think I got through to the editor (who registered). I'm just watching these IP addresses because they're all from the same range and they all are essentially the same edits (another external link was added to the repetoire once it was deemed that it, too, wasn't notable enough for the list, either, but it's still the same). And by non-notability, I mean badly-constructed fansites (as well as the RPG site). Ryulong 04:07, 14 June 2006 (UTC)

Triassic Ranger debate
I just removed wrong information. Triassic is not a Ranger, is a power up.—The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.232.156.174 (talk • contribs) .
- If you think like that, every power up that have a new zord should be there too. Triassic is a power up with a fancy name, nothing else. The series itself consider it just a power enhancement, as in both crossovers Conner appeared, it was put side-by-side with the red ranger of each team, even though the other team had more rangers than de dino thunder team. when crossing with SPD, triassic was paired with Jack Battlizer in cyber mode. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 200.232.156.174 (talk • contribs) .
- I remember that a mention existed. I fought against it for some time. When I logged and saw it away, I thought some reason got into people´s mind and you realised that Triassic is just a power up with a fancy name, and not a independent ranger (and yes, his powers are dependent of the red ranger power, not stand alone). And Im not signing my comments because I´m away of my computer and, for some reason, I can´t log with my username. But if it´s so important I´ll sign anyway: 200.232.156.174 01:54, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- With all the respect, considered by who? I know you and the Ace Shadow that think so, but what about everybody else? I know that the article spent some time without Triassic (since june 6th, and wasn´t me who changed it) and, until your edition, nobody complained. There are more evidences in the series considering Triassic a power up than otherwise. I won´t change the article again, but unless some canon evidence that it´s considered a different ranger (other than its name) is presented, i´ll keep changing it. 200.232.156.174 02:51, 17 June 2006 (UTC)
- Back to my original login and resuming the discution, we have different opinions about Triassic, and no 100% sure argument appeared on either side. So, as an idea, could we write that some people see triassic as a power-up, and not a independent ranger? I think it would be good everyone.DinobotTM2 03:20, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- I agree with that, however, I would prefer that its listing remain on the Other Ranger page. Perhaps such a statement can be made on both the Red and Other Ranger articles, if necessary. Ryulong 03:24, 19 June 2006 (UTC)
- That would be the better choice. Keep the listing and mention this argument... DinobotTM2 18:51, 20 June 2006 (UTC)
- Well, not mention this argument perse, but say that some consider them to be one Ranger, others consider them two separate rangers. Ryulong 20:13, 20 June 2006 (UTC)

Speedy deletion
I noticed that you tagged the page Image:Codi Fernandez-DJ.JPG for speedy deletion with the reason "Uploader is using photo for a fan made character that he is referencing in Power Rangers: Mystic Force articles". However, "Uploader is using photo for a fan made character that he is referencing in Power Rangers: Mystic Force articles" is not currently one of our criteria for speedy deletion, so I have removed the speedy deletion tag. You can use WP:IFD if you still want the article to be deleted. Thanks! Stifle (talk) 22:39, 22 June 2006 (UTC)

Sanjo disambiguation page
I was looking up "Sanji" after it came up in a conversation, expecting to find Sanji (One Piece). Instead, I was redirected to the disambiguation page for Sanjo. After removing (and then listing for speedy deletion) a hoax/vanity article from the list, it appears that the only Sanji on the disambiguation page is for the anime character, and all others are various "Sanjo"s. Would it be wrong to remove the redirect for the Sanji page and then move Sanji (One Piece) there? Ryulong 08:44, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- I think it's fine to be bold in this case and change the redirect to the anime character. The only way to be sure would be to ask on the talk page, but since this is a minor change being bold is fine.--Commander Keane 08:48, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- So it wouldn't be right to move Sanji (One Piece) to Sanji? Ryulong 08:49, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- OK, I did misread your question there, sorry. Yes Sanji (One Piece) should go to Sanji. You will not be able to do this, only an admin can do the move. I will do it in a minute. If I wasn't around, you would request the move at Req. moves.--Commander Keane 08:52, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Thank you. I think the original Sanji page was a typo for Sanjo, and the redirect/disambiguation stuck. Ryulong 08:56, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- It appears that several of the pages that are linked to Sanji (One Piece) as a redirect aren't updating (when I view "What links here"). Should that happen? Ryulong 09:04, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
- Even after I changed the various [[Sanji (One Piece)|Sanji]] to just [[Sanji]]. Ryulong 09:07, 24 June 2006 (UTC)
IP editor constantly ignores using edit summaries
70.33.248.120 (talk • contribs) is a frequent editor to articles on Pokémon, Super Sentai, and Power Rangers, but often makes important changes to articles and constantly does not use an edit summary with any of his edits. I've left at least two messages on his talk page to put in edit summaries, but he has not responded to anyone, to the best of my knowledge. Is there anything that can be done? Ryulong 19:24, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
- No, edit summaries are optional. They are useful and certainly courteous to other users and I would certainly encourage everyone to use them, but all you can do is just that, ask the sometimes point out times when it would have been useful to know etc. --pgk(talk) 19:30, 25 June 2006 (UTC)

U. Miami
I was looking at your recent edit about g.p.a. of incoming students. The 4.2 there was on a weighted scale. Such scales give a different number of grade points from course-to-course. This makes it hard to compare with the normal 4-point scale. A 4.2 on that scale is very much likely not a 4.0 on the normal g.p.a. scale. It is more like a 3.7.
