Too much trivia
I've recently noticed there is way too many pages with too much trivia. There is a tag for it, and a category for it: Category:Articles with large trivia sections, but I think a project or some sort of group is needed for this. I'm trying my best to go through movie and tv pages (which seem to be the main articles with too much trivia), but I need some help. The talk page for the category is very inactive, so that's not much of a help. I looked through just some of the Wikipedia help pages, and didn't find anything useful. Any suggstions? RobJ1981 05:52, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Tricky one. WP:TRIVIA and Wikipedia:Avoid trivia sections in articles are relevant pages if you didn't find those already. I don't really have a suggestion here or much of anything useful to add, so I'll leave the helpme tag. Equendil Talk 15:55, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- If you want to create a group, talk to someone higher up than m,e about forming a WikiProject: Cleaning up Articles with too much Trivia or somesuch.Teh tennisman 00:56, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
You recently messaged me (User talk:129.128.232.159) in regards to my deletion of a toomuchtrivia tag on a south park article. I'm not quite sure why it is up to you that you think all of this trivia should be deleted. I'm sure many of the users of south park articles would agree that after they have watched a south park episode it is much more convenient to look in a trivia section for interesting facts rather than reading a transcription of the story and then getting an interesting fact every now and then. This is why there is a trivia section. Please do not remove them all from the south park articles. I consider it a form of vandalism. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Dj epik (talk • contribs) 20:16, 27 October 2006
Three Came Home
Thanks for rating my new article Three Came Home. I've expanded it a bit, it has a plot summary and an infobox with production details, but there's a lot more to do. Should I change the rating to Start now or should I wait until I've done more work? --Rosejpalmer 07:04, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
WikiProject Films Tagging
I know that some of them are tagged wrong, but I'm adding them based on Category:Film characters using AWB, so some of them are going to be wrong. We will just change the tags when we grade them (we would appreciate if you could help with that). But thanks for the heads-up and any help you can give in grading or changing these tags. Re:Trivia
Wait, so you are suggesting a project to clean-up existing trivia suggestions, and try to somehow incorporate into the article pages? --Nishkid64 01:17, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- Well, I guess you can create a temporary project page on your user namespace, and then go to Wikipedia:WikiProject/List of proposed projects and add your project to the list. I think it's a great idea, though. Trivia takes up too much space in articles, and inserting trivia into articles to make it better-flowing would definitely improve the condition of many articles. Good luck with the proposed WikiProject, and if you have any questions or need help, you know where to find me. (Oh yeah, I will be happy to join the WikiProject) =) --Nishkid64 01:32, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- I'll start helping out probably tomorrow. I'll try to advertise the WikiProject in the Community Portal after we make an actual WikiProject page (which we can do in about a week). --Nishkid64 23:59, 8 October 2006 (UTC)
- Okay, tell me what exactly is "enough support". You can bend the rules there hehe since it's all based on user perception. --Nishkid64 00:28, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

Ken Kennedy
Maybe you are the one who should grow up? Ever think of that? WWE.com refers to him as Ken Kennedy. His tights have "KK" on them. What is so wrong about putting his full ring name on the roster page? We can go back and forth forever, but atleast I have logical reasoning behind my decision.
Your speedy tagging
Hi, I noticed you tagged How Not To Make A. ... Movie for speedy deletion. It was moved to prod but is now at Afd at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/How Not To Make A. ... Movie.--Andeh 20:25, 10 October 2006 (UTC)
Notice Board
I've been meaning to thank you for adding to the WP:CMC notice board, but I am also writing to ask that you use the proper formatting for your listings. The AfD/CfD page listings are there so that editors can find the listings quickly rather than having to search through the article's history to find the link. Examples are provided for cut and paste. Thanks again. --Chris Griswold (☎☓) 13:37, 11 October 2006 (UTC)

Shark Boy and Norman Smiley
Why is it that you insist on continually removing them from the TNA roster page, they have teamed many times, they are set to team several more times in the near future, and they are an official tag team! Sevenzeroone says: Poopy is not fun! 21:39, 11 October 2006 (UTC)
Well in the spoilers for the future Impacts, it has one of them (I think it was Smiley) getting attacked after a match and the other one coming out to help. Stereotypical of a tag team, yes? TNA considers them a tag team, they should be noted as such. Sevenzeroone says: Poopy is not fun! 20:24, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
As you saw on a recent episode of Impact, Shark Boy specifically came out to Smiley's aid as he was being attacked by Christian Cage, I think this is enough to verify that the team is still together. Sevenzeroone says: Poopy is not fun! 02:35, 2 November 2006 (UTC)
fancruft and Fangu
Hi, I'm no expert on Fangu, and if his only appearances are a couple of issues of Nick Fury's Howling Commandos and a Marvel Comics Presents monster story then I'd agree that he's almost certainly not worth an article of his own (not until he reappears someday in a more high-profile role, anyway...).
On the other hand, I'm afraid I think talk of "fancruft" may be counterproductive, as it distracts from a reasonable case for deletion. As Wikipedia:Fancruft notes, "use of this term may be regarded as pejorative, and when used in discussion about another editor's contributions, it can sometimes be regarded as uncivil". --Mrph 18:09, 12 October 2006 (UTC)
Personal attacks
Well consider me told off. I do (since I did forget to disclaimer myself) but using the "block" card. Please. I'm not vandalising the site. That shit is beneath me. It's because of past events involving yourself and quite a few others (mainly admin I do believe as well), that well I know there really isn't any point trying to compromise. Now I do apologize for the stalking remark and linking the word "you" to your user name, but compared to what I was going to say this morning, and what I'm saying now is a lot better for both parties. I don't have a problem with you personal, hell I don't know how you can have a problem with anyone on this site since it's faceless, but I do have a problem with how a lot of things are run in the comic book side of the site. I understand copyright, I understand lists, categories and infoboxes, but I don't understand deletions, although I must admit that this type of deletion compared to speedy deletion is better. The "stalking" remark came about because it seems that you delete my stuff but leave others alone. Basically at this rate, Marvel Comics is only going to have 20 odd articles because of all the guidelines and what not. Hell, I'm even going up against an anonuser who keeps citing the 198-Files one shot (for Decimation) when it's been dismissed in the guidelines which I guess means ChrisGriswold is having some perverse affect on how I contribute things. But I'm not here to make any friends, and I'm not here to cause trouble. Feelings get hurt all the time even if it's either being general or opinioned based. I've just given up even bothering to compromise any more since I'm not going to be listened to anyway. So in regards to the "personal attack" thing, yeah I know I shouldn't have named you so once again I apologise for naming you. But I don't apologise, however, for anything else I said or for whether feelings were "hurt" in the process. Life can be like that. As for Fangu, I know it's more than likely his article will get deleted, poor little nobody that he is, but I'd rather see it merged than gone. Thanks for listening. - I'm happy to help as much as I am able to. It seems to me that the big problem is that people don't read the articles before they start to add trivia. Most of the tidbits in the Randy and Sharon article were ALREADY IN THE ARTICLE. That said, I am one of the dwindling number of Wikipedians who feel that the encylopedia is no place for all this fancruft, episodes of tv shows SHOULD NOT HAVE THEIR OWN ARTICLES, that's what IMDB is for. Cheers. L0b0t 15:52, 16 October 2006 (UTC)
- well I've managed to knock 1/2 a dozen or so articles of the list. My eyes are glazing over now so I think it's Miller Time. Cheers. L0b0t 00:06, 17 October 2006 (UTC)

Trivia Cleanup status and notes
Hmm...if you have the usernames or IP addresses of some of these vandals, I can deal with the situation. Also, I'm sorry I haven't gotten around to actually doing any trivia stuff. I'm busy in real life, and all I do on Wikipedia is repetitive tasks that don't require too much attention. By the way, you can make an official WikiProject page now. I think you have a good deal of participants to start with. Once you make the page, you can edit the Community portal and basically "advertise" your WikiProject to others. Marvel:Ultimate Alliance
Hi, sorry if it seemed that way, but I had no intention of being dragged into a revert war. The creator of the table Jamdav86 created the new table at 15:35 today, and requested that the additional info he'd left out was added. Between 17:21 and 17:31, I added the remaining characters to said table. Now, later on when I visited the page, LloydyJr had removed several of the characters, had removed all the additional data that was added by Jamdav86 and myself, without reason, had no charts, and had left the page unformatted. I reverted it at this point, in order to maintain the standard that was set by Jamdav86. LloydyJr however, continued to both revert the page, and remove data without due reason, from 18:30 to 20:01. I understand that "revert wars" go nowhere, and I won't revert again, but please, I'd advise checking all of LloydyJr's edits between 18:30 and 20:01, before you make any further judgments.
Thanks - Goldenboy|talk|contribs 19:10, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
I Know I screwed up some of the info. and the layout juring my reverts but I did my best to fix it!

Re: In response to your Trivia Cleanup talk post
It's not so much that I'm completely against what was done to the article (I only noticed because a picture I uploaded was part of the trivia), I just don't like the whole Trivia Cleanup thing. True, if you open up a paper encyclopedia, you won't find all of that, but why should we place the same limitations of a paper encyclopedia? This is Wikipedia. We are more than a paper encyclopedia. True, there is a lot of the trivia out there that is not only useless, but boring and uninteresting. If someone says that a vehicle in a game looks a little bit like a real vehicle, only different, then who cares? I think that rather than trying to integrate trivia with an article and delete the rest, the quality of the trivia should be looked at. If something is complete speculation, coincidental, or irrelevant to the article at hand, then I see no problem with deleting it. Just because it cannot fit into the rest of the article is not a good reason to delete it; that's half the point with trivia, it doesn't fit in with the main subject, but it's still worth a mention.
I'm not saying that you are doing this exact sort of thing, nor am I saying that the Project wants people to. However, because the Project told people to remove and trim trivia sections, we're going to lose a lot of trivia because of people taking it to the extreme like that. And I see that as a bad thing. We need to either come up with strict guidelines as to what trivia should and should not be removed, come up with a new-page trivia policy (or something like that) to keep the trivia in a different location, or stop telling people to remove trivia. -Platypus Man | Talk 05:23, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Re: Story arc pages
So there it is. Yet again, they live. Not because they fit the guidance and policy, not because they're encyclopedic, but because people want them there. Oh well, it was a nice thought. Thanks for trying. --PsyphicsΨΦ 22:06, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
