Talk page

[edit]

Rich, were you thinking about archiving this page anytime soon? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 09:49, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, it's a huge headache. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 10:57, 14 February 2024 (UTC).[reply]
It looks like you can just uncomment the code at the top of this page when you are ready to resume archiving. –Novem Linguae (talk) 17:25, 14 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It might be the way to go, but there are many threads that need attention. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 17:27, 14 February 2024 (UTC).[reply]
Guidelines suggest keeping the page size below 75kB. Yours is currently 335kB, so more than 4 times over-sized. Please could you reduce the size to below 75kB as soon as possible? Thanks — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 17:38, 19 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
3 weeks after my request, and you still have not archived your talk page. Would you mind if I manually archived anything older than 3 months? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 12:52, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I would mind if I were him. He's already noted there are threads that need attention. The size of his talk page is not interfering with the project. Leave it be. --Hammersoft (talk) 14:25, 8 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Atimes.com RfD

[edit]

Not sure if you have notifications disabled. But as mentioned at the RfD, I think you may have misunderstood the site's history. --Paul_012 (talk) 01:27, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I absolutely had. I've changed my !vote to reflect this, and I have added a reference to atimes.com to the article. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 15:59, 18 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]

Cosmetic edits

[edit]

This looks like a cosmetic change to me, and I can't see any benefit to changing March 2023 to March 2024. This is exactly what your editing restriction prohibits you from doing. Also can you respond to my question several threads higher regarding your talk page size? — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 20:45, 17 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Updating these templates is regarded as a substantive edit. As to the talk page size I can make a temporary adjustment, if it's causing you difficulties. I plan to re-jig the archiving system, to provide better searchability, but it's not going to be for a while. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 17:43, 18 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]
It is not a substantive edit, and it does controvene your editing restriction — Martin (MSGJ · talk) 19:08, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
See https://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/Wikipedia:Bot_policy#Cosmetic_changes - third bullet point. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 23:47, 18 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]
It is not only not a substantive edit, it is misleading. That line was added a year ago in this edit; changing the date to now misrepresents how long it has appeared in the article. Mathglot (talk) 23:17, 18 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That's not how these categories are supposed to work. See Category:Use dmy dates. All the best: Rich Farmbrough 23:54, 18 March 2024 (UTC).[reply]
