A tag has been placed on Grillz By Scotty, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Request to appeal indefinite block

Request reason:

I do not intend to violate any terms or conditions of Wikipedia or to disrupt the community. The article covering Grillz By Scotty, a well known and established business, was factual and citations were used throughout the entire article. Additional proof can be provided if need be. I've also reviewed Wikipedia's advertising and spamming policy and to my understanding no terms or conditions have been violated, this block was simply a preventative measure to prevent any violations from happening. I can assure that there is no intention to disrupt Wikipedia or any other users

Decline reason:

Since you don't seem to see how what you wrote was promotional, there are no grounds to remove the block. You talked up the company using promotional language, and only summarized its activities and customers. You did not summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about the business, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable business. Notability is not inherited by association with notable people. You also seem to have an association with this business that you must disclose, see WP:COI and WP:PAID. 331dot (talk) 06:39, 29 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request to appeal indefinite block #2

Reignsound (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Thank you for clarifying what the exact concern is, as it is otherwise difficult to provide an explanation for the "advertising/spamming" claim. To resolve this, the article will be rewritten only using summaries of what independent reliable sources have chosen on their own to say about the business. The original article was written in a manner as to avoid any copyright concerns with regard to the articles written by the reliable sources; however, now with this being more clearly explained, I'm better able to avoid what could be considered promotional language, while still adhering to Wikipedia's copyright and community guidelines and policies. ———————————— New appeal: Appealing once again, I understand what was explained about promotional language. I mentioned my plans with the article to be transparent, if adding a celebrity clients section is unacceptable, that's no issue. I'll stick to the bare facts about the company, infobox type content. And go through the draft creation process to have my article reviewed. No opinions, no promotional language. Only essential information.

Decline reason:

You pretty obviously have a COI, your username is literally the name of Ataah King's record company, and you have pretty much exclusively edited topics that relate to Ataah King's work. signed, Rosguill talk 19:06, 29 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting unblock

[edit]

Requesting that this account be unblocked so that I can continue learning to contribute to the Wikipedia encyclopedia using Wikipedia's recommended/suggested edits program Reignsound (talk) 14:36, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Someone else will review your request, but Wikipedia is not a place to just post "essential" or "basic" information. That's still promotion.(see WP:YESPROMO). Wikipedia articles about organizations summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about it, showing how it is a notable organization. This isn't a business directory that just documents existence. Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell about themselves and what they do. (you still need to disclose your relationship with the company) 331dot (talk) 14:38, 1 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the additional clarification. I read through the entire WP:YESPROMO article. I'm still willing to comply with all policies Reignsound (talk) 00:08, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You're not going to be unblocked if you're only here to create articles about non-notable businesses for which you have a WP:COI, period. OhNoitsJamie Talk 11:28, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'm not sure where the miscommunication is, but I've never stated that I was here to create articles about non-notable business at all, or even implied so. I've clearly explained, I've been attempting to create different articles on topics / notable business I have knowledge of, in hope of better learning the Wikipedia platform. I've also clearly expressed I plan to continue utilizes the suggested edits feature from Wikipedia. I've also read over the Conflict of Interest policy and it does not apply in this case. This account has been blocked from editing all articles, not just that specific article. I'm asking for the ban to be removed from my entire account. Here is my most recent request, clearly addressing all relevant points, which you've had the opportunity to read over already... It's clear you guys just like talking to me, this is my 7th or 8th request to unblock this account and I've been saying the exact same thing since the first request: Previously it was expressed that my request was declined for being inadequate or not addressing the reason for my block. I’m instructed that I need to convince the reviewing administrator that either the block is not necessary to prevent damage or disruption to Wikipedia, or that the block is no longer necessary because I understand what I’ve been blocked for and will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and will make useful contributions instead. 1. I understand what I’ve been blocked for — the moderator who blocked me, as well as the initial reviewing administrators, have expressed that the reason I was blocked was because of the promotional language that was used in the article I wrote 2. Once the exact nature of what the issue is was clarified to me, I agreed to avoid promotional language and to instead summarize what reliable sources have published — as recommended by one of the reviewing administrators (331dot) 3. It was not my intention to damage or disrupt Wikipedia in any way, nor is it in my intentions to do so now — and having the action which led to me being blocked, explained to me, I’m able to avoid repeating this issue and I’m also better able to utilize Wikipedia resources to guide me in my learning process and while making contributions 4. I look forward to making additional contributions, I’m also a part of the program where Wikipedia suggests edits for me to make, and I’d like to continue to grow with and contribute to the Wikipedia platform Thank you for your time. This is my 6th or 7th appeal for this block, but I hope that this satisfactorily addresses the issue at hand Reignsound (talk) 10:50, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
You have only made two appeals, unless you are making appeals elsewhere. I'm not aware of any program "where Wikipedia suggests edits for me to make". How do you have knowledge of these businesses? Just from strolling down the street?
You put a COI notice on your user page, now you say it doesn't apply. Please clarify. 331dot (talk) 10:55, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I was doing research on notable businesses, figures, and organizations with ties to the entertainment industry. At the time when I was notified of my block, I was working on publishing another article for a different organization and gathering resources for additional articles. Upon further research I see my block was caused by a spamming/advertising-only claim stemming from my Grillz By Scotty article. It was explained to me by moderators the issue was the "promotional language" which I now understand and have expressed multiple times, I can resubmit the article and submit future articles without "promotional language" whatsoever. I've submitted 3 appeals using the unblock ticketing system, and have posted several times on this page, 1 has been removed by me, you can feel free to check the page history if that's important to you. I'm from Atlanta though, if I need to post a conflict of interest tag for every article I write for a business from the area, that's no issue as well. I'm just requesting a clear response on exactly what y'all want. I already acknowledged what y'all said the problem is/was. I'm respectfully requesting y'all unblock me, and when I submit future articles I can even submit them through the review system for y'all to confirm before publishing. It's not a big deal. As explained from the very beginning the "promotional language" was unintentional. Reignsound (talk) 15:24, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It's not a COI to be from Atlanta and to edit about topics from Atlanta. You seem to have a relationship with Ataah King, would that be fair to say? 331dot (talk) 15:48, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for the clarification in regard to the COI and Atlanta. Regarding the fact that this block came after my Grillz By Scotty article, I'd say no, it's not fair to say. I do however, respectfully request to have this account unblocked from editing on Wikipedia and I appreciate the references that have been provided. As previously mentioned, I do not mind submitting future articles for review. Reignsound (talk) 16:24, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can't make a determination on your current request as I reviewed your prior one. Quite frankly I don't think you are editing about these topics at random, but it's not me you need to convince, but the next admin. 331dot (talk) 17:34, 8 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
