Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, ReeceTheBeast15, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, your edit to Gasoline does not conform to Wikipedia's Neutral Point of View policy (NPOV). Wikipedia articles should refer only to facts and interpretations that have been stated in print or on reputable websites or other forms of media.

There's a page about the NPOV policy that has tips on how to effectively write about disparate points of view without compromising the NPOV status of the article as a whole. If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, click here to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. Below are a few other good links for newcomers:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your name on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically produce your name and the date. If you have any questions, check out Wikipedia:Questions or ask me on my talk page. Again, welcome!  HiLo48 (talk) 21:09, 7 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon Hello. In a recent edit, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, India, or Pakistan use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. Thank you. MrOllie (talk) 17:56, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

That was a long time ago, and I will not do it again

I apologize to Wikipedia and its scholars for something I did not see as abuse at the time. From now on, I will do my best to cite trustworthy sources and minimize the influence of my personal opinions.

I ask now because I plan to write an article on the "Major Wheeler" variety of honeysuckle, which I believe is of historical importance in gardening for its widespread popularity. Here is evidence for this goal. ReeceTheBeast15 (talk) 20:36, 2 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

I will give you another chance to be a productive contributor. Good luck. 331dot (talk) 14:10, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Nick-D It's been four years(almost to the day); I'm inclined to give a chance here, but what do you think? 331dot (talk) 09:20, 3 April 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you're happy to unblock and keep an eye on the account, I'd have no concerns. It does trouble me though that the account had a history of inserting ideologically-motivated falsehoods in Wikipedia (e.g. [1] and [2]), but the risks here seem low given the good unblock request above. 09:26, 3 April 2024 (UTC)
