License tagging for File:Gr6 lrg.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Gr6 lrg.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. Non-free rationale for File:Gr6 lrg.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Gr6 lrg.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Salavat (talk) 11:24, 8 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Spinosaurus, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Aquatic. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Orphaned non-free image File:Gr10 lrg.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Gr10 lrg.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. 185.172.241.184 (talk) 07:20, 16 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Rangoon creeper. Thank you for your work on Lavocatodus. Another editor, Hughesdarren, has reviewed it as part of new pages patrol and left the following comment:

I don't think that this is a species - should the article be about the genus Lavocatodus?

To reply, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Hughesdarren}}. (Message delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.)

Hughesdarren (talk) 05:44, 20 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Please do not upload non-free image too much, unless you think really important for educational reasons. Is that really needed to upload non-free reconstruction of lungfish which is only known from teeth and just reconstructed based on Neoceratodus? Your Megalodon cladogram is unclearly sourced. One of the papers your are citing as a completely different cladogram [1]. Hemiauchenia (talk) 16:08, 7 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:55, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Do not rely on non-free images too much

[edit]

It is not a good idea to upload a large number of non-free images just for the stub class articles. Basically, we try to find freely usable images or create reconstructions on our own, so as not to rely on non-free images. Fair use images should only be used as a last resort and should not be abused in unimportant articles. If you need images, you should request reconstructions at Wikipedia:WikiProject Palaeontology/Paleoart review. Ta-tea-two-te-to (talk) 09:05, 27 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sillakkudi Formation moved to draftspace

[edit]

Thanks for your contributions to Sillakkudi Formation. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and it requires paraphrasing more so that it is less vertabim from https://discovery.researcher.life/search/f/journal/Journal-of-the-Palaeontological-Society-of-India. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.

Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit for review" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. BoyTheKingCanDance (talk) 06:51, 12 December 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Sillakkudi Formation has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://journals.sagepub.com/doi/10.1177/05529360231205315 and CC BY-NC 4.0 is not a compatible license.. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Welcome, and some advice

[edit]

Hi there! First, be welcome to Wikipedia. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask me or others.

As you know, Wikipedia is a community effort and based on consensus seeking. If you make a change to an article and this change is reverted because someone disagrees, please do not start an wp:edit war and revert them yourself (as you did in Carcharodontosaurus). Doing this can even result in being blocked. What you should do instead is leaving your arguments (explaining why you think the change should be made) on the talk page of the article, and only make the change when a majority of editors agrees. Thank you! Jens Lallensack (talk) 22:17, 2 January 2025 (UTC)[reply]
