Hi, I've redirected your article, Writing of date, to an existing article, Calendar date, which contains all of the information you wrote plus more. Please check to see that the article you want to create does not already exist before creating it. Fabricationary 18:45, 30 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And I've done the same for your article Mysorepak, redirecting it to the existing article Mysore pak. Do please check very carefully before creating an article, to avoid duplication and wasting your time...! Carbonix 19:00, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I see you've been adding articles already -- great start! Please take a look at some of the links above to learn how to edit pages, how to include links, and a bunch of other good stuff. In particular, please consider adding the following (including the curly brackets) at the end of the India-related articles that you create:

{{India-stub}}

I added it to Hebri so you can see how it looks. This lets other people interested in India-related topics know that you've created a basic article (a "stub") so they can take a look at it, and maybe edit it. A complete list of all stub tags is available here.

Again, welcome :) --Bookgrrl 00:08, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation pages

[edit]

Glad to see all the good work you are doing on Indian topics. I'm afraid I've removed a couple of contributions to some disambiguation pages (e.g. Hawkins, manufacturer of pressure cookers, at Hawkins) because there was no link in the entry. You will understand that the point of the disambiguation pages is to help readers find an article. You may like to create an article, or even just a stub, for these new topics, in which case you can then add a link to the article to the disambiguation page. For detailed help see Wikipedia:Manual of Style (disambiguation pages). Hope this doesn't put you off contributing! Disambiguator 13:42, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image tagging for Image:Uppi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Uppi.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

License tagging for Image:Tulufont.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Tulufont.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Mahalingapur, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Districts of Karnataka

[edit]

Dear Rajaram,

Thanks for creating new articles in Wikipedia. However I would suggest that before writing a new article, please search Wikipedia and find out if a similar article exists in it. Your new article List of districts in Karnataka is already present as the article Districts of Karnataka. Two articles of the same name can be confusing and unnecessarily take up space. I have nominated your new article for merging, you may want to nominate it for deletion, Thanks -- Amarrg 06:38, 17 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sir, in your recent edit to this article, you wrote the saint was born in Kumbhashi in Kundapura Taluk but did not give any references for it. The reference I have used in the article (The "Haridasas of Karnataka" article) says he was a native of Hoovinakere, Kundapura Taluk. Are these two places the same or really near by villages and hence the confusion.? Currently both statements exist in the article.Dineshkannambadi 18:42, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Software Industry in Karnataka

[edit]

Thanks for creating the new article on Software Industry in Karnataka. I have nominated the same for DYK. May I request you to kindly follow some guidelines when you come up with a new article. Request you to go through the suggestions in the Welcome section above in this same page. Always provide citations to the contents as it will make the article cleaner and verifiable. This will also avoid people from putting tags. I had to do major rework on this article to bring it to same shape, so please follow guidelines in future as it will save time of fellow editors, thanks -- Amarrg 06:30, 19 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Spam in Roopatara

[edit]

Hello, this is a message from an automated bot. A tag has been placed on Roopatara, by Iknowyourider (talk · contribs), another Wikipedia user, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. The tag claims that it should be speedily deleted because Roopatara is blatant advertising for a company, product, group, service or person that would require a substantial rewrite in order to become an encyclopedia article.

To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait before possibly deleting Roopatara, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page, and put a note on its talk page. If the article has already been deleted, see the advice and instructions at WP:WMD. Please note, this bot is only informing you of the nomination for speedy deletion, it did not nominate Roopatara itself. A tag has been placed on Clearing Corporation of India requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a blatant copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.2 and later." You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. fschoenm (talk) 18:14, 7 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Another editor has added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Kokila Mohan, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but the editor doesn't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and has explained why in the article (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia or discuss the relevant issues at its talk page. If you remove the {{prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of College of Fisheries, Panangad, and it appears to be very similar to another Wikipedia page: College of Fisheries. It is possible that you have accidentally duplicated contents, or made an error while creating the page— you might want to look at the pages and see if that is the case. If you are intentionally moving or duplicating content, please be sure you have followed the procedure at Wikipedia:Splitting by acknowledging the duplication of material in edit summary to preserve attribution history.

This message was placed automatically, and it is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article and it would be appreciated if you could drop a note on the maintainer's talk page. File source problem with File:Deccanplateauscene.jpg

[edit]
File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Deccanplateauscene.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 01:14, 14 August 2009 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. B (talk) 01:14, 14 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 4 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. The article Master of Dental Surgery has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

This is an unsourced dictionary entry. This information is already contained in Dentistry throughout the world. No need for a standalone article.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Greetings! It appears as though you have been directly adding stub categories to articles. Stub categories should only ever be added by templates, as explained at Wikipedia:Stub. These templates automatically add any relevant stub categories. Adding the category directly creates problems if there is a need at some later date to change stub category names or to split stub categories. Using stub templates is also recommended as they add prompting messages to editors reading stub articles. Your work in sorting these stub articles is very useful, but it would be even more useful and greatly appreciated if you could use stub templates to do so! (This message is a boilerplate, left here as a courtesy by Wikipedia:WikiProject Stub sorting, and should not be considered personal in nature.) Grutness...wha? 04:19, 31 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

It appears that you tried to give Industrial Training Institute a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into another page with a different name. This is known as a "cut-and-paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.[reply]

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page (the tab may be hidden in a dropdown menu for you). This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Requests for history merge. I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Narendra Mairpady for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Deletion discussion about Narendra Mairpady

[edit]

Hello Rajaramraok, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Narendra Mairpady, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Narendra Mairpady.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Remsense}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!
