License tagging for File:Jasmine costello.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Jasmine costello.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.
For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 17:05, 4 September 2010 (UTC)

Cheryl Gray - Corrie
[edit]Hello, i've been to Cornwall for the week last week thats why I wasn't doing much editing. I've been doing a revamp of Cheryl Gray's article for a while now and its pretty much all in order, but I was wondering if you would like to help doing a character development section with characterisation and a bit about the domestic abuse plot thats been happening?--AcidBrights (talk) 18:12, 5 September 2010 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free image File:Alistair Longford.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading File:Alistair Longford.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. This also applies to:
- File:Mitzeee Minniver.jpg
- File:Seth Costello.jpg
- File:Taylor Sharpe.jpg
- File:Amber Sharpe.jpg
- File:Texas Longford.jpg
- File:Laura Ainsworth.jpg
These images were removed from the articles they were in due to WP:NFLISTS against the use of per character images. --Hammersoft (talk) 16:51, 15 September 2010 (UTC)
Charlotte Lau
[edit]Hiya! Oh my god, I couldn't believe it when she left, I was just shocked! I wonder whether the actress chose to leave or whether she was axed by Paul, well if he did axe her I can understand why even though I loved the character, she was very unique, but she was never really established and was just apart of the whole Lydia saga and everyone else's plots. So, can we list her as past now like Doug Carter?--AcidBrights (talk) 19:01, 18 September 2010 (UTC)
Oh okay, sorry about that and I know about Charlotte its a shame, but I think Marquess had a point. And I'm a bit gutted about India leaving, I really love her, and Anita.--AcidBrights (talk) 18:39, 20 September 2010 (UTC) Btw, what is the ref for Jem's departure?--AcidBrights (talk) 18:41, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
I think she must be leaving, its all pointing to an exit, and September 2010 will be two months before the fire, and they film two months ahead so... --AcidBrights (talk) 19:37, 20 September 2010 (UTC)
Oh yeah, I think your right, maybes we should add them to departing maybe, oh and I think this Veronica, Rae, Ste thing sounds good! :)--AcidBrights (talk) 18:08, 23 September 2010 (UTC)
Hollyoaks Infoboxes?
[edit]Hey, I was just wondering what's happening with the Hollyoaks infobox, I've noticed a lot of articles have had it removed and replaced by the soap one. Is there any reason for this? It's completely fine, I'm just wondering if we should change them all to one or the other. :) Whoniverse93 (talk) 22:32, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
- Ahh okay. Thanks for letting me know. I haven't really changed any yet because I wasn't sure what was happening, but I will from now on. :) Whoniverse93(talk) 23:31, 25 September 2010 (UTC)
Hey, could I possibly trouble you for an image of the delightful Marilyn? I've just recreated the article, this time with out of universe info and references. Now, I just need to add some storylines and possibly some info on her relationship with Donald. - JuneGloom07 Talk? 21:12, 5 October 2010 (UTC)
- You are a star! I love Chris and Diana's new images too. :) - JuneGloom07 Talk? 23:30, 6 October 2010 (UTC)
- Hey. In case you didn't see my tweet, I've split Natasha Williams off from the 2010 list. I noticed the list had grown quite big, so I wrote up some new info for her and then split her off. Could you possibly get an image for the article, please? - JuneGloom07 Talk? 20:58, 24 October 2010 (UTC)

Hollyoaks Later
[edit]Hey. I've created an article for the third series of Hollyoaks Later on a subpage, User:LostHavoc/Hollyoaks Later (series 3). Just thought I'd let you know. There doesn't seem to be much information about the series this year though, so that's why I haven't created the article yet. :) LostHavoc(talk) 16:04, 11 October 2010 (UTC)
==File permission problem with File:Stokeontrentcitycenter.JPG==
Thanks for uploading File:Stokeontrentcitycenter.JPG. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.
If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either
- make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
- Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-enwikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.
If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-enwikimedia.org.
If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. 99.199.96.224 (talk) 01:18, 21 October 2010 (UTC)

Hey, I'm going to move the 2007 Neighbours cast list to the mainspace and I have a few characters to redirect. Two of them (Angus & Taylah) have images uploaded by you in them and due to WP:NFLISTS, I can't move them to the list. I'm not sure if they can be added anywhere else (maybe the Kinski kids articles?), so I'm going to have to orphan them. Sorry! - JuneGloom07 Talk? 15:40, 31 October 2010 (UTC)

Nick O'Connor Image
[edit]Hi, I attempted to delete your pic of Nick O'Connor so I could then upload my own, but as I'm not an admin I couldn't upload (sorry, I'm new so still finding my way around here!) but LostHavoc reversed my action and Uncle Dick sent me a vandalism warning! I tried to contact them both, but no reply. I just wanted to tell you that I wasn't trying to undermine or be non-constructive. I'm a big fan of the show too, and I have a great, high res image of Nick which I thought would contribute nicely to the Nick O'Connor page. The screen grab you have is cool, but as you said yourself it is low res and there weren't any other images available. The pic I have is high quality. Do you have an email address I can send it to? That way, you can look at it and decide for yourself if you think it's a better quality pic and more suitable. If so, maybe you could then delete yours and then add mine instead? Every time I try, I get people sending me messages telling me off, lol! Like I said, I'm not trying to be "non-constructive" or "vandalise" - just trying to be part of the community and contribute for everyone's benefit! Please let me know if you'd like me to send you the pics. Anyway, keep up the good work! EthanHut (talk) 20:58, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Oh, I see!!
[edit]Hey! Thanks for getting back to me, I really appreciate it. Ahhh, all makes sense now! I'm so new to this, I didn't even realise I'd deleted any reference!!! Sorry! I can't seem to get hold of the others but if you happen to communicate with them please do let them know that the reference part was an honest mistake!! It was only the picture I thought I was deleting, not a reference! Ok, cool, so I'll get a photo uploaded to a site and then send you the link, so if you like it then you can use that one for the Nick O'Connor page instead. Yeah I'd like to know about contributing more, am a fan and would like to help out! Sorry again if any offense caused by my actions! EthanHut (talk) 21:28, 15 November 2010 (UTC)
Nick O'Connor/Darren Bransford
[edit]LMAO! I was embarrassed, which is why I deleted the warning and posts! Didn't know they could still be seen in the history! Like I said, I'm new to this, so bear with me! Thanks so much for your messages, makes me feel a lot better. Anyway, yes I can def help! I go to college with his cousin, she's my best friend and so I met him about 4 yrs ago! He's great, and he gave me some signed pictures (I'm a big fan!) and some other HO pics, so I have ones of Nick O'Connor, Chloe Bruce and a few other characters too. That's why I tried to replace the low res one already up there. I've gotta go finish some work now so will do the pics tomorrow. Have you thought about doing a separate page/article for Darren Bransford who played Nick? He's doing movies now. I would try do it myself, but haven't got a clue where to start. I can help with info and recent pics and stuff though. Let me know. Loving the other pages btw! EthanHut (talk) 22:14, 15 November 2010 (UTC)

Ray Meagher
[edit]Hi
Just to say, you might like to check Ray Meagher's page later on when you get a chance. Someone heavily vandalised it earlier on, I think I got rid of all the vandalism by reverting the page right back but it might be worthwhile someone who's a Home and Away fan just giving it a quick look over to make sure that it's all gone. I'd love to know what the Aussies did to offend the IP as they've mainly targeted the Neighbours and Home and Away pages and any actor associated with them! --5 albert square (talk) 18:15, 21 November 2010 (UTC)

Hollyoaks 2011
[edit]I saw that LostHavoc created the List of Hollyoaks characters (2011) article, which I had been creating offline, and I noticed some things that had been done, which I didn't think were professional, as I want the article to be more like the Neighbours and Eastenders ones, therefore for the other characters i've created a table, and for Pete, i'm using the ways that the neighbours article is done, when the infobox is needed etc, and i've removed Petes infobox and revamped his section as not a lot is known about him, i've used ideas from the neighbours article, which I know you contribute to. User talk:212.183.128.67
[edit]I feel you have been heavy handed in your warning to ip address 212.183.128.67 (User talk:212.183.128.67) and suggest that you rectify this. Firstly the edit appears to be in good faith and as such, according to Wikipedia:Vandalism - What is not vandalism, it is should not be classed as vandalism. Secondly, you have given a last warning (level 4), for vandalism when a level 1 warning would have been more appropriate given that good faith should be assumed. I should also note that the owner of the IP address 212.183.128.67 is Vodafone and therefore shared between the many millions of Vodafone mobile phone customers in the UK. Final warnings to shared IP addresses may discourage potential contributors from editing Wikipedia and therefore should be avoided except in the most extreme circumstances.
If you still consider edits from this IP address contain inappropriate content then I would suggest that {{subst:uw-error1}} would be a better template for the circumstances. Munta (talk) 20:56, 29 December 2010 (UTC)
- I never asked nor told you to appologise. I felt the warning was heavy handed and made a suggestion of how to re phrase it. That is my right as an editor and also my right as the person who "inherited" the IP address in question. Just as it is your right to ignore my suggestion within the contraints of Wikipedia policy and best practice. FYI I have had two IP addresses allocated me in the course of 7 hours so the chances are that the user on the IP address you are complaining about is long gone and hundreds of users will have that same IP address over the next few weeks. Hey there, I think its pretty clear that the Sharpes have left now, so should we put their departure dates in and things? I'm a bit gutted they've gone though.--AcidBrights (talk) 16:33, 2 January 2011 (UTC)

Home and Away
[edit]I accept that you're acting in good faith and I'm very appreciative of your adding sources in an attempt to break the creation/deletion cycle. But it seems as though you're making edits just to tie in with some sort of unofficial "house style" and, like most soap operas and indeed most subjects, it all seems to be falling victim to recentism. Are you really going to write profiles on all major characters or just the recent or easy ones? Because if it's the former, it'll probably take years if you don't all give up or go insane in the meantime. At the moment we've got a page on Romeo Smith, who's been there less than eighteen months, but nothing on Bobby Simpson-Morgan-Marshall, who was there for five years. The fact you include Gypsy Nash is encouraging... unless it's just because they recently had a feature on her in Inside Soap. To be brutally honest, most of the time I read one of the new articles I'm simultaneously impressed at the amount of research and left feeling that they need to be re-edited by someone with a knowledge of the show. For instance, the Tony Holden article seems to be trying to include the date "2010" as much as possible, even though most of the events said to happen then actually happened in 2008 or 2009 (the relationship with Rachel, being the second longest-serving male character). I'm surprised you're pushing for a List of Home and Away characters (2009) page when it seems to be exactly what you've been arguing against, yet another list duplicating information from elsewhere. That said, I'm in favour of it as long as we also get a List of Home and Away characters (1995) etc. page. As it stands, at the moment we're once more in a situation where the only information on several major characters is the actor who played them and the date they appeared. Skteosk (talk) 15:55, 21 January 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry if I was a bit uppity before, I get like that sometimes, and thank you for the politeness of your reply. If it's all going to be done in four months, then just ignore me completely, you're doing a great job, sorry I implied otherwise. I do share your concern that it will be hard to find sources on older characters, in many cases they predated the internet so there may well never have been anything concrete on here, although I did find this while looking for Chloe Richards, the preview makes it sound like there's some quotes in there, don't know if it would be any good. I didn't watch the show in the early days myself, my memories only go back as far as the Fin, Sophie, Blake group, but they've been showing the early episodes in Australia recently and someone's been posting them on YouTube so I've finally managed to catch up on the early stuff. Skteosk (talk) 09:45, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
If it gets to the point where all the current characters have their own pages, then the reason for the page being there is resolved and I'd have no objection to it being deleted or redirected. (At the moment, there's no page on Miles, for example.) I think there was a page on VJ at one point, don't know if there's any merit in recreating it, I assume he and Lily will be covered if/when there's a 2001 list. I think I did spot the first annual in a jumble sale once and flicked through it, it seemed to have been written very early on but there was some info on the original characters in there so good luck with that. Skteosk (talk) 12:02, 29 January 2011 (UTC)
Yes, well done for the Bobby article. I only skimmed over it because I'm having tea in a bit but again I'm left impressed and humbled by the research that went into it. You do seem to be doing a very good job of living up to your promise and getting all the articles done, so I'm feeling a bit bad about some of my comments...Skteosk (talk) 16:45, 31 January 2011 (UTC)

Bobby Simpson DYK
[edit]This is just a courtesy note that I've declined your Bobby Simpson DYK nomination. The revision history is not straightforward, but the article has gone through cycles of being quite substantial in the past to getting turned into a redirect and back again. This diff from July 2009 has 7.5 kB of prose. The article currently has 12 kB of prose, i.e. the expansion is less than twofold, and a long way off the required fivefold. I'm letting you know about it here, as this comment is likely to disappear from the DYK page shortly. WP:WIADYK has the DYK rules. If you have any queries about those, please ask. - Silas was a redirect to a list first wasn't he? So, he's not a new article. Has the information from the list been expanaded fivefold in his article? If not, then I don't think you'll get a DYK. The rules say "Former redirects, stubs, or other short articles in which the prose portion has been expanded fivefold or more within the last five days are also acceptable as "new" articles. The content with which the article has been expanded must be new content, not text copied from other articles." - JuneGloom Talk 16:17, 7 February 2011 (UTC)

AfDs Sharpe characters
[edit]Hi
Just like to point out that some of your statements are misplaced onto the different pages and so appear to be talking about things which did not happen on that particular page, for example the comment on the Hogan page "deserve" and your reply "Why?", that reply also appears on the Hagman page where there is no preceding comment for that reply. The same is true of the "unreferenced" statement from the Hagman page you also put onto the Harris page, where it appears 3.5 hours before the following comment.
I would put those into one AfD as suggested by the other editor, or at least clean up the comments to leave those ones only relevant to the particular page - it may look like a rant otherwise :¬)
Chaosdruid (talk) 16:29, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- Sorry ! I have no idea how to do that, as have only ever nominated one for AfD and that was a merge too lol
- I think it would probably be advisable to ask on the AfD talk page, or ask User:Blake as he was the one suggesting merging the AfDs. I suspect that it might be too messy with all the redirects etc. that would be created, so probably will end up as something to really only bear in mind for future block/mass nominations.
- The ones nominated are all members of the "chosen men", so are pretty much the main characters in the TV series - you are probably getting the die hard fans' responses so don't take them to heart too much if they get a little brusque :¬)
- Chaosdruid (talk) 16:47, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
- They should be refd easily for the books [1], although the TV series will need more attention. Do not worry, I would be glad to help sort it out if needs be as I am/was a fan, but not of unsourced articles lol! Chaosdruid (talk)
Hello, Raintheone. Would you mind weighing in on this, especially the Téa Delgado part? Flyer22 (talk) 19:47, 24 February 2011 (UTC)
Loretta
[edit]Hi
I have finished my copyedit of the article.
There were some areas that made me wonder if I was going mad, the prose was particularly difficult. I tried to keep consistency between describing the character as "Loretta" and the actress by her surname. Also the use of said/saying/mentioned and punctuation - most seemed to use 'she said, "whatever she said' or 'saying, "what they were saying'. Some had : instead of , so I made them mostly consistent. Here writers may have different opinions though, but consistency should be maintained even if it is that all the sayings have 'saying: "this' and all the says have 'says, "says this'
The section "Storylines" may need going over more thoroughly as I am not familiar enough with the series to make major connections between shorter sentences, nor cut up the longer ones. In a few places there appear to be sentences not really related to the storyline discussed in the paragraph. For example the third large paragraph talks about her and her relationship with Nancy and Hannah. I am not sure whether to cut out "Loretta strikes up a friendship with Holly Hutchinson (Lydia Waters) who aspires to be a dancer like Loretta after feeling unnoticed by her mother Cindy. As they bond Loretta gives Holly advice on dancing." as it appears, at least to me, to be totally unrelated to the Nancy and Hannah storyline. I have left it as I feel it would need someone more familiar with the plot to make that judgement.
Good luck Chaosdruid (talk) 20:47, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Your comments on Sacha Parkinson on edit
[edit]As you no doubt realise, I am new to this Wiki, very convoluted system, I’m still fumbling around.
I thank you for your edit effort and comments on Sacha Parkinson
I spent over 6 weeks doing an in depth evaluations of Parkinson's work ( seen every production ) she has been involved with. Plus a comprehensive internet search on everything out there related to Sacha Parkinson. I feel some of your comments are touch harsh and negative in tone regarding her acting experiences. She became popular in soap – Grange Hill with four episodes. In the last two years she has been involved in three feature films, with reasonable support actress roles. CLAY , The Boy called Dad, and Awaydays. Plus Parkinson played important support roles in BBC TV series The Street, and Survivors. Also her character's part was the main theme for the episode of The Royal. Plus guest performance in Shameless.
I would respectfully suggest you check her out on You Tube. Search "Sacha Parkinson The Street"
there is a very good clip of her dramatic acting. Also same thing for Survivors. To see her fan base, there are over 2500 videos some Corrie episode, but many Fan Videos – Search -- Sophie and Sian. Also I notice that on Wiki Biographical entries , generally there is a mixed bag of information, supplied or approved after edit. Some seem to include town/city of residence, in depth details of training. Even reference to News of the World stories.( not sure how that’s reliable source.) It’s difficult to gage standards. Parkinson impact on Corrie St is evident by her bio page count on Wiki's own software ( page history then page count) pre Corrie period -- 416 hits 09 -2008 but her peak hit rate on corrie has risen to at least 15,000 when her storyline with Sophie, became a relationship ( April 2010). This week its around 10,000 hits even when she is not in any current episodes, since about 11 Feb 2011 . I also state, there are not many corrie cast members, other than (Sophie) Brooke Vincent, who is more popular on Wiki from hit count comparisons. There’s evidence of a huge fan base, mostly with similar aged people as Sacha. 18 years old, and many open gay teenagers or those going through same experience as the corrie couple. Also the fact Corrie producers have extended her contract, implies Corrie producers know her worth to the soap. Also the dates of episodes of TV programs is useful for research or to located DVD’s of her performances. I agree with you comments ( on reflection ) my version may be too up beat and over the top a bit. I feel somewhere between mine and yours would be a better balance. I feel her current biological is touch bland, and does not give this talented young actress true credit, or representation. Thanks gren500 Gren500 (talk) 21:51, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Parkinson's edit
[edit]I guess after researching Parkinson for 6 weeks there’s a risk of getting too attached to the subject, and loosing objectivity. I respect you Wiki experience and impartiality.
I will sleep on my reply, its late here in UK. I will give it focused thought tomorrow,
I will make comments, to what could be added back, maybe. Gren500 (talk) 23:43, 25 February 2011 (UTC)
Being involved with Wiki, is like a bit part in “Alice in Wonderland”, its all so surreal, full of strange mystical characters. I’m still lost, be you male or female !!!! Much like Redrose !!!
After I felt gob smacked my first reaction to your edit was 40 hours of research and writings down the pan. My second, was someone here is homophobic, but you have cleared that issue up, I’m pleased to say; on that one. I am straight, but adore lesbians, as they practise true pure and deep emotional love.
Spoiler time before the big event:- From my Parkinson investigations - Where ever Sacha Parkinson treads, she leaves golden foot prints. I checked out her reputation at her Manchester high school – “ Sacha is a very well remembered girl, she was always kind, very caring, helpful and much loved by everyone who knew her”….. not quite Wiki material, BUT.
I am rather confused, whether the emotional connections between Sacha and Brooke in real life, is only slightly behind the love they play as Sophie and Sian. Or do they play up, before the camera in real life? Is the question.
As Brooke Vincent once said “ After our first kissing scene, I had to tell Sacha, her lips are so soft. You know Brooke, I thought yours were too, but don’t ever tell anyone, about this conversation”. Brooke then stated she cannot keep a secret, all this, in front of camera, on a corrie spoiler clip. Sacha Parkinson's edit
[edit]I am busy with work at the moment…still working up arguments for more info additions.
SP has huge exposure on Corrie for about 2 years about 533 episodes . SP done 143
So that’s (143/533 = ) 26.8% of episodes since she been playing Sian
From a Tweetcam session last week both S P and BV are shooting corrie material at the studios.
Current errors on SP’s Bio
1. Sacha Parkinson played Anna Duncan in two episodes of BBC school drama Grange Hill.
She was in six episodes – reference --IMDb.data base for SP Grange Hill" (6 episodes ) 1. Episode #30.1 (16 January 2007) - Anna Duncan 2. Episode #30.3 (23 January 2007) - Anna Duncan 3. Episode #30.4 (25 January 2007) - Anna Duncan 4. Episode #30.5 (30 January 2007) - Anna Duncan 5. Episode #30.6 (1 February 2007) - Anna Duncan 6. Episode #30.7 (6 February 2007) - Anna Duncan 7. 2, She then played Shannon Peterson in an episode of Jimmy McGovern's The Street. (The Street was Parkinson’s first major television role.) deserves a mention I feel.
3. Awaydays was her first major film role
4. Parkinson also played the role as a young girl, sitting on a bus for the NSPCC "Don't Hide It" (physical abuse) campaign, a TV commercial (2005/6). This is referenced on SP’s Cast Details with agent [2] ( I have seen a clip on You Tube) Search You Tube nspcc physical abuse or http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhtZ5YkjIXw
SP has also been on Corrie as a child sometime before. That’s quite interesting Still looking for info 4. Parkinson is currently with North West-based TV and film agents Laine Management and has been represented by Laine since the age of 6.Is this not standard to quote agent information…its on many bio’s I have seen on Wiki It like a courtesy thing !!!! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Gren500 (talk • contribs) 20:58, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Corrie St REJECT SP Wiki Bio
[edit]This is New Today Check out Sians Powers Links @ http://www.itv.com/coronationstreet/characters/sianpowers/
The Corrie Street web page author has REJECTED using Wiki’s Sacha Parkinson bio preferring to link to Sacha Parkinson's IMDB page That should tell you something !!!!! The Wiki bio on SP is weak in information But Corrie St use Sian Powers Wiki profile. Wiki is coming in 2 nd to iMDB on Bio information !!!!! Whats your comments ???? Gren500 (talk) 00:27, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
- I hope you don't mind me wading in like this, but as a casual observer I have to say a lot of what you're trying to do is not encyclopedic. The actress is a relative newcomer, unless she takes part in a notable event of some sort, or raises her profile internationally, neither her body of work or her public persona are sufficient enough to produce a GA standard article for several years no matter how hard you try. It's good that you're interested in keeping the page updated, but it's not a shrine. In response to your outburst here, it doesn't make a difference. There are very few official websites who will link to a publicly edited page. Ooh, Fruity @ Ooh, Chatty 03:14, 3 March 2011 (UTC)
S Parkinson and Charity work ?
[edit]iMDB is not exactly a well writen web site just a jumble of facts. Wiki bio's are far more readable.
Whats the situation on charity activity and bio's ?
This is a reference to SP activities on Manchester Great Run -- Disability Sports Event( I searched the site and found this info) http://www.disabilitysport.org.uk/nlstory.cfm?ID=33465&NLID=43652
Also note SP doing a photoshoot in Manchester related to this fund raising event.
Its on the current Corrie St Sian Powers Links Disability Sports Event
I am confused as the article relates to an event in May 2009, seems old information for the latest Corrie St news !!!! I have e mailed Disability Sports Event in Manchester to clarify the situation. Looks as if the Sophie Sian storyline is kicking off again next week -- the drama should be intense !!!! Gren500 (talk) 02:20, 3 March 2011 (UTC)

Sasha Parkinson
[edit]I have added characters she was cast in on the episodes of Survivors and Shameless. Added the episode or film year eg :- (2008) so there is a constant style within the page.
On the issue of a photograph and copywrites. It all seems rather convoluted . I have purchased a photo of Sacha Parkinson, but I guess that means, I can't use a scanned version of that photo on Wiki? I could do a screen capture, of a Corrie St video, but that would kinda be Sian Powers !!!! In real life I dont think SP looks too much like Sian Powers, thats a good actress I guess. I could screen capture SP on interviews she has done on ITV morning programs, but the quality may be poor. Or I could request from the subject a photograph she owns, for use on her Wiki biographical.
Whats the best option ? [2] --Gren500 (talk) 21:30, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

SP again
[edit]I am having trouble keeping up with new material on SP, she certainly shot into the big time arena !!!! There’s a big interview she given to the Sunday papers, today 6 March, and a huge photo shoot too.
Plus I am waiting for further info from charities SP been involved with.
Plus SP is back on Corrie St this Monday 7 and again on Fri 11, ITV been launching lots of spoilers on the new disaster theme in the new storyline...everything goes pear shaped !!!!
SP has given out a lot of family background information about her mother, father, grandmother and living great grandmother who is 85 years old. Her mother's younger brother is gay. SP talked with him on her lesbian storyline, to get the tone correct.
I will over the next few days sketch out an outline of the new SP information with all references I will open a new User Gren500 page... do the outline sketches there. For review, and comments.
I notice that Sian Powers photo is a screen capture seems to be there under Wiki :-
Non-free media format - use rationale for Sian Powers With a bunch of statements to support source of screen capture etc etc
Today I have produced a bunch of fairly recent very good quality screen captures of SP, from ITV -- This Morning and GMTV programs. They interviewed SP on her Corrie storyline. I can soon reformat for Wiki requirements.
I will go look at your suggestions also -- Flickr
I have a large video data base now, on the complete SP and SW storylines from day 1. Plus SP / SPowers and BV/ SW video material Gren500 (talk) 04:41, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. We've met before. ;) I read through the whole article and passed it. Everything looked in check with the prose, and no obvious grammar/spelling issues appeared. SP pix
[edit]Note your comments with interest, it all makes sense. I won a Sacha Parkinson photo from E Bay for about £1.15 It looks like the person was near Granada studios Manchester in the street. There’s no copyright strings attached The E Bay listing states -- was taken on 08 December 2010 at the Granada TV studios in Manchester. Sacha Parkinson stopped and he took a casual photo of her. Its not a professional photographers work.
SP is very photogenic, a cat could take a photo of her...it would look great :)
There no commons on Flickr or Yahoo pix. What about non professional people uploads to yahoo pix or Flickr ??
I have found you contact people ( e mail or letter )about Sacha Parkinson regarding information for Wikipedia biographical, they seem to like her very much, and offer to send back information and write up's. I find the organisations I approach have a Wiki page. I also request if they wish to update me on information for their Wiki page. Wikipedia will consider the information for inclusion.
I’ll stay in the sandbox don’t panic :) Gren500 (talk) 15:05, 6 March 2011 (UTC)

[edit]The original article itself has no specific date or author listed. I tried to parlay as much of the information in there without writing the whole bloody thing word for word. Awards
[edit]Hi, I noticed that you added a "sexiest female" nomination on Katie Sugden's page, but generally these awards relate to the actor and are really nothing to do with the character or the actor's ability in the role. I'll leave it to you to decide if you want to remove it - or any others you may have added. –anemoneprojectors– 12:13, 8 March 2011 (UTC)
Hi. Sorry you had to go through this experience. It appears the person who did the GA review was not experienced at GA reviews and did not completely understand the process. The article has been delisted. There are issues regarding the quality of the prose, plus the actual coverage, which appears mainly to be plot. Wikipedia:Manual of Style (writing about fiction) is a useful guideline for how to write about fictional topics. And Wikipedia:WikiProject Guild of Copy Editors may help out with prose issues. Wikipedia:Basic copyediting is also worth reading. Regards SilkTork *YES! 10:29, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
- It's best that you failed it to be fair. I wasn't committed to helping any further because no one showed any interest in adding suggestions, which is a shame. However, I won't be taking it to the copy edit guild, I waited ages with one article and it received a poor copy edit. I know about the MOS btw, look at the other GAs I really put my time into. :P I'm gathering some more sources for it anyway, so thank you. Happy editing. :)RAIN*the*ONE BAM 14:21, 9 March 2011 (UTC)

- Just the same as the other editors really, not that bothered. You should have asked the others involved why they did not respond to my messages. Also you should have kept it open when you saw there wasn't any community reassessment going on at all. Unfair really, the re-assess was as bad as the review it received. Imagine if one editor put the word out, drummed up some support and they added their thoughts. How wonderful would that be. I like to think Wiki still has that collab thing going on, a feeling that were all responsible for improving the work on here. I know you are super busy on here, so I'm not digging, but a little more help is always splendid.RAIN*the*ONE BAM 00:58, 10 March 2011 (UTC)
- Thank you. SilkTork *YES! 17:29, 9 March 2011 (UTC)
I agree, help is always needed. We all do what we can; and while we can hope that others will be interested in the same topics as us and help out, sadly it doesn't always happen and we cannot expect help as a matter of course. Sometimes it really is a case of doing something because nobody else is doing it. The GA project has a number of facets - and you are correct in your view that it can and does help improve articles and can and does motivate editors. While the aim of a GAR is to maintain standards, it can often improve the quality of an article - and if an article can be improved that is better than delisting. However if no improvements are taking place then the GAR is closed. SilkTork *YES! 08:45, 10 March 2011 (UTC)

They been doing three features in National papers, over the last 4 days. Daily Mail on line did one. The comment section is disgusting on feedback I feel from homophobes, and other nasty people. There are totally unkind bitter comments. Its got SP and BV most up set, from reading SP mothers ( Leigh Farrow manchester ) comments on the Daily Mail comments board. Ive seen both girls twitter output, they are not happy bunnies, (most unhappy and upset). Mind you going into Daily Mail on a feature is inviting trouble, the way they twist everything !!!!! [edit]Since you're so brilliant at finding references, I was wondering whether you had any for early Corrie? Most of the early characters are desperately in need of OOU (and a damn good re-write!), but I can't find seem to find many good refs, apart from a thousand articles published around the 50th anniversary all saying the roughly the same thing. H&A
[edit]I've decided to work on the 2011 list for now, it's shockingly bad. I have a months worth of episodes to get up to date with, so I can add some storylines and info to The River Boys. Would you be able to help out with some of the other characters at all, like Elijah's new family? Also, thank god for Inside Soap, I have some great reception info for Mark Brennan later. - JuneGloom Talk 18:31, 15 March 2011 (UTC)
- Quick question, when did Miles make his first appearance? Because I've seen it was in 1988, but he's listed as being introduced in 2007 on the cast list here. - JuneGloom Talk 20:14, 16 March 2011 (UTC)
- Let me just say, I'm the last person you should come to for DYK ideas. I had such trouble with Jan Russ, I didn't bother in the end. Though some articles really do just write their own. I think you should use something about Morag's casting or personality maybe. For example, DYK...that Cornelia Frances would like to play her Home and Away character, Morag Bellingham, on a permanent basis? I'm thinking about focusing on H&A more this week and getting that 2010 list sorted. I don't know if Acid is doing it or not, but it needs to be created. Once it is done (or more or less done), you can redirect that current characters article for good. I think we also need to do a huge clean up of Alf's article at some point. He, Marilyn, Irene, Donald, Sally and Ailsa are the only characters I remember from when I watched the show in the 90s. - JuneGloom Talk 19:07, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- Do you want to collab on Miles' article? I started working on it a couple of days ago and have a reception section ready and quite a few refs. I also asked User:Courcelles if Miles' article could be recreated and he showed me what was there previously. It won't come as too much of a surprise to learn that it was just a bunch of badly written storylines. - JuneGloom Talk 23:16, 19 March 2011 (UTC)
- Not H&A related, but could you upload this image to Sonya's article for me? I tried taking a quote out of the text for a quote box, but just couldn't, so an image is the next best thing. - JuneGloom Talk 15:25, 31 March 2011 (UTC)
- Alf's article is in a terrible state for someone who's been there since 1988. I've started working on it, but it's going to need your help too. - JuneGloom Talk 14:59, 5 April 2011 (UTC)

Reply To Your Reply To My Comment On AnemoneProjectors' Page
[edit]I actually already responded there, but in case you didn't see it I thought I should add my reply here too. My reply is: "I seriously doubt they would change, since they obviously have narrowed it down to a shortlist. Now if they hadn't done that already then I admit there might be a possibility, but I seriously doubt things would change this late in the game and so close to it being confirmed. And actually, yes they can. Unless we see a video or radio interview from Simon, Steve Jones, ect. or a very reliable source stating otherwise then I would believe Dermot's words over anything else since they're the closest we have to official confirmation. I mean, he said it with his own mouth, and although the media speculation is flakely this isn't since he actually spoke it himself. Otherwise I do agree with you that nothing should be added until the line-up is confirmed and that no one should add anything about anyone being on the shortlist unless it comes from Simon's mouth or some of the other people officially involved in the show. (like producers, celebrities confirming themselves that they are in the running, ect.)" Okay I added a line or two in this one, but otherwise it's the same. 1Dbad (talk) 02:56, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

That said however, yeah, April seems pretty likely. (since I don't think they'd wait until the last minute...)1Dbad (talk) 05:36, 28 March 2011 (UTC)

It's not vandalism
[edit]Your personal dislike for an article does not make it vandalism. If you were rational you would understand that there do not need to be two disambiguation pages for one article, one list and one article that's spelled completely differently. If you were reasonable you would understand that Ian Gallagher (disambiguation) is a damn disambiguation page. Sadly you're neither rational nor reasonable. Harley Hudson (talk) 15:59, 29 March 2011 (UTC)
- This is not about me. It's about you not adhering to the rules. You removed a template from a category without explaining why. You created the article back in the name space. The name redirects to the DAB page because there is more than one Ian, most searching will type in the DAB after the article they are looking for so it is easier to include that to the DAB page. You are not reasonable because you point blank ignored help. Rain the 1 BAM 16:04, 29 March 2011 (UTC)

If someone types in I-A-N-G-A-L-L-A-G-H-E-R looking for the British character then the note at the top of the American character article would lead them to Ian Gallagher (disambiguation). [edit]I spent considerable time investigating and finding an old very well hiden credible reference ( BBC - 2004 ) to the fact that The Illistrated Mum was awarded a bafta for best schools production. I am sure Parkinson is unaware of this fact, as she has never made a reference to it, on any of the many documents covering her career. As I recall , I messed up on the BAFTA On The Illistrated Mum (made it sound like Parkinson won the bafta). This was corrected to the establised fact Parkinson was cast in The Illistrated Mum, and the production won 2004 bafta for best for school production. I now notice this fact has been deleted again. Parkinson #2
[edit]Whilst working in the US, I was involved in aerospace engineering crash investigations. This process is methodical to the very extreme. Also in my tax litigation work there is a need to investigate people. The very first thing needed for people investigation is where they live. Nothing sinister there. The father and mother information is as stated by Sacha Parkinson on interview. I have verified this information from more official sources. Adding parent information seems standard biographical entry. Also do you not consider having a living great grandmother, worthy a mention, few of us are in that position. I investigated the subjects home address, from the subjects own admissions on a method she uses to make up a stage name - combine pet dogs name with home street name. I searched all sources on the internet Twitter, Facebook,my space, You Tube. I found a question from a fan asking why she (SP) used Charlie xxxxxxx as a old ID. I found Charlie xxxxx as an old Twitter ID for SP. From Google xxxxxx is a street in the Wigan area. A verified home address town. From home address far more reliable official verification facts can be obtained. The subject (SP) has also stated on interview with the News of World....her mothers younger brother is gay, she has a female cousin, who lives with a woman. Both these relations have discussed gay issues with Sacha, helping her provide a foundation for the Sian character she plays. SP takes her method acting most serious. I consider these facts too sensitive for addition to her bio, and possibly not relevant Gren500 (talk) 11:10, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
P.S. I have replaced sensative details with xxxxxx Gren500 (talk) 12:43, 5 April 2011 (UTC)
Steph
[edit]Hey Rain, quick question. I've noticed the protracted back and forth over Steph's last date (eg. [3]). Was the 30 March appearance original footage, or was it a repeat of an old recording? I haven't forgotten about working on the lead, btw - I have done some recent work on the article, but I'm struggling to commit to anything for more than a day at a time at the moment! Filename change
[edit]Why did you change the filename for the Silent Interlude image? It's definitely an image of the first page, not the entire comic. - Jake Fuersturm (talk) 12:54, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
- NO, it's the first page. Since when have you seen the cover of a comic book that: 1) shows the title of the issue, doesn't show the title of the comic book series, and shows the detailed credits? -- Jake Fuersturm (talk) 13:05, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Your Edits on G.I. Joe
[edit]That's two edits in a row now, where you clearly demonstrate a lack of understanding of the source material. I understand that you're just trying to be helpful, but sorry to say: you're not. -- Jake Fuersturm (talk) 13:10, 11 April 2011 (UTC)
Your watchlist...

Hey
[edit]I am inviting you to take a look at this GAR. It need more outside opinion and the internal editors and myself have ended up in some kind of dispute. Basically I renominated because on a few occasions I have felt the use of fansite sources in a GA is not okay. However they maintain the stance they are okay in this GA. So an another outside look in addition to Nikkimaria would be good. I asked you because I noticed you had done some work there previously, and you have helped on FAC, and they are suggesting it should be nominated for FA on the articles talk.Rain the 1 BAM 22:15, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
- The dispute is very wordy isn't it? It looks like everyone has the best intention, but people are getting a bit frustrated. There's nothing really nasty going on, but it looks quite wearisome. I'll take a longer, closer look at the sources when I get more time. The Writing style section did catch my eye as I scrolled down, as it starts with "Many readers praised....", which is a bit weasely, and then makes some quite specific claims which are sourced to one site. As the site is an interview that should be OK, but I'll look into what the guidelines are, and then get back to you. SilkTork *YES! 23:16, 13 April 2011 (UTC)
