MassRFD

Hi. Is there an RfD equivalent of MassCfD? --MikutoH talk! 22:58, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

MikutoH, no, but I could write a modified version of MassCFD for RfD if that would be helpful. — Qwerfjkltalk 13:59, 3 May 2024 (UTC)
That would be helpful. Though I think most of y'all use XFDcloser or something, I guess it requires so user groups/status. --MikutoH talk! 03:28, 8 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, XFDcloser is for closing discussions, not starting them. — Qwerfjkltalk 16:54, 9 May 2024 (UTC)
For what it's worth, myself and at least a few others at NPP would love this type of feature. Hey man im josh (talk) 15:21, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Hey man im josh, I'm working on this in tandem with the below. — Qwerfjkltalk 18:11, 10 May 2024 (UTC)
Hey man im josh, MikutoH, you can try User:Qwerfjkl/scripts/massXFD.js. I haven't tested it much so I'd warn against really large nominations when you're not prepared to revert your edits.
Let me know what you think, and how I could improve it, as well as any bugs you find. Particularly it could break MassCfD (don't use both scripts at once).
Just wanted to get something out there instead of leaving you hanging. It should work fine, but undoubtedly they'll be at least a few bugs. — Qwerfjkltalk 17:51, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
It didn't work somehow. I use English Wikipedia in English but my edits acted as if it was in Portuguese, is it because of the language of my PC/browser? --MikutoH talk! 23:35, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
See Special:Diff/1224215842 --MikutoH talk! 23:36, 16 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, oops; fixed. — Qwerfjkltalk 06:37, 17 May 2024 (UTC)
It worked now. But it didn't notify one user since different users created the redirects (flexisexual/flexisexuality). --MikutoH talk! 04:49, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
It didn't even notify anyone in gastrosexual/gastrosexuality --MikutoH talk! 04:54, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
It was also misplaced --MikutoH talk! 16:19, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
┌─────────────────────────────────┘
MikutoH, the latter problem was fairly easy to fix - the script was adding the nominations in the wrong place, so every else using Twinkle added their newer nominations below (e.g.). I'll have a look at the other issue. — Qwerfjkltalk 18:38, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
I've also fixed the issue of users not being notified. It was because they were idefinitely blocked, and the script skips notifying indefinitely blocked users. In this case, however, the block was only partial, so I've fixed the script accordingly. — Qwerfjkltalk 18:53, 18 May 2024 (UTC)
Ok. Another thing is notifying target's talk pages (in hard redirects). --MikutoH talk! 19:21, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, I'll start working on that. — Qwerfjkltalk 19:54, 19 May 2024 (UTC)
A possible improvement suggestion would be selecting redirects from "Page information" page like Cat-a-lot. Not sure if this would be too complex. --MikutoH talk! 23:08, 23 May 2024 (UTC)
@MikutoH I absolutely love that idea. It's absolutely one of the most common scenarios when you'd batch redirect nominations. Hopefully this won't be too tough an ask, because I'm quite hyped about the idea. Hey man im josh (talk) 00:27, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
Hey man im josh, at that point you're better off finding another script that can output the titles in text format, and just pasting that into MassXFD. — Qwerfjkltalk 10:06, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
Good point actually. Why overcomplicate things :P Hey man im josh (talk) 10:45, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
It seems MassCFD has the same problem about browser language. And I tried submitting a merging MassXFD for categories and it simply don't go anywhere. --MikutoH talk! 23:43, 24 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, yes, I haven't updated MassCFD.js - you can use MassXFD instead, that should work. There was a bug in MassXFD where it essentially used an RfD check for CfD, which I fixed earlier and I've just updated the script for now. — Qwerfjkltalk 08:26, 25 May 2024 (UTC)
I tried an old nomination for ambisexual and it marked as today, also if that's just for listing, it doesn't add it to the old nomination. --MikutoH talk! 23:44, 27 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, I can't fix any bugs currently because I'm away on holiday. — Qwerfjkltalk 05:49, 28 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, actually, that's expected behaviour, though it could probably do with improving. — Qwerfjkltalk 06:30, 30 May 2024 (UTC)
MikutoH, I've fixed the "marking it as today" issue; it's unreliable to parse sections so the script won't add them to the nomination automatically. — Qwerfjkltalk 12:53, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from FalitoMardinoyo47 (14:00, 3 June 2024)

Hello, thank you for being my mentor. I wanted to ask you if you have any contacts with admins? I edited some articles that were filled with propaganda, could you tell me if I did the correct thing? Some Kurds are deleting any non-Kurdish thing from city articles. --FalitoMardinoyo47 (talk) 14:01, 3 June 2024 (UTC)

FalitoMardinoyo47, I'd suggest discussing this with the editors who reverted you on their talk pages or the talk page of the article rather than repeatedly reverting them, which is known as edit warring and is disruptive. Make sure you have reliable sources to back yourself up. — Qwerfjkltalk 17:03, 3 June 2024 (UTC)
I backed my changes with sources of international universities, but they got removed because of Kurdish propaganda. That's not acceptable. FalitoMardinoyo47 (talk) 19:36, 5 June 2024 (UTC)
FalitoMardinoyo47, on Hakkâri (city) (history) you were initially reverted with the summary not appropriate to delete sourced information with that edit summary, and then again when you edit warred; see also the edit with the summary you are citing wiktionary and another dictionary for the word akkara, and then you relate it to the work Hakkari, where is the source evidencing that correction? Also please read WP:QUO. — Qwerfjkltalk 20:19, 5 June 2024 (UTC)

Question from BenBinLen (00:55, 6 June 2024)

How do you find more reliable citations? --BenBinLen (talk) 00:55, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

BenBinLen, it would help if you specified the article; you can try these links:
Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs· FENS · JSTOR · TWL
replacing the search query with something more appropriate to your article. — Qwerfjkltalk 13:20, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

How to tell random people on Wikipedia that they have edited certain things wrong ?? --Good citizen of india , secular (talk) 16:04, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

Good citizen of india , secular, their talk page would be a good start. Remember to always assume good faith. — Qwerfjkltalk 16:06, 6 June 2024 (UTC)

CFDlister bug

Hi Qwerfjkl! Just wanted to let you know that CFDlister has a bug in Vector2010 which prevents it from appearing. I am all but certain it is a result of the recent heading markup changes (VPT discussion). Would you be able to take a look at this? Thanks, HouseBlaster (talk · he/they) 04:25, 8 June 2024 (UTC)

HouseBlaster, I thought this would happen, was hoping Vector 2010 and Vector 2022 would change at the same time. Oh well. — Qwerfjkltalk 09:53, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
Fixed. Just needed a minor change. — Qwerfjkltalk 10:04, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
Thank you! HouseBlaster (talk · he/they) 15:55, 8 June 2024 (UTC)
